Excellent breakfast, nice quirky room in loft with low beams, funny but painful when head bumped. Would stay again.
Three flights of stairs to climb to room. To be fair we got a very good deal on room and were told about this, but was still hard work with suitcases.
we were given a free upgrade without asking for it. we were able to open windows.
The room was clean and nicely decorated. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was more than enough for me, overall good value for money
The bathroom was a bit tired, I had to get someone to turn the shower on because it was stuck - I think a shower screen would be a good idea too as the water from the shower went everywhere and I also think that's why the paint needs touching up.
Pleasant staff. Good breakfast
Plumbing in room noisy; cistern seemed to be on constant refill
Staff polite/// breakfast excellent no complaints at all. clean and all in all very happy with everything Would return and would reccomend this hotel . You wont be dissapointed
not hotels fault I guess but alarm (false) went off at 4.30am
Lovely location and all the staff were so friendly and helpful. Breakfast & restaurant food was all really good. Really pleased we chose this hotel as we had a great weekend.
Wine was expensive, no resonable house wine option. Sunday Breakfast was really busy & staff struggled to cope, but kept smiling. :-)
Staff very friendly even at 2am. Hotel location good Had dinner and breakfast both good.
Had bedroom at front of hotel, wedding taking place, no problem until guests coming from wedding to hotel. At 1am requested night porter to ask guests in above bedroom to make less noise, this was ok for 5 mins. At 2 am requested porter to again ask guests to make less noise. Shame this happened as hotel and staff were very good.
The hotel was quaint & not too big so quite informal. The staff were all very polite & helpful. Good value on a DBB basis.
Some carpeting in hallways a little worn & our room started to feel cold. We were informed the heating came on at 6 p.m. then told 7 p.m., it was October after all! It never did come on and the electric heater in our room never worked, even when they replaced it for another one!
Friendly Staff and the Tara Brasserie can be highly recommended. Polite and attentive Waiters with excellent Menu prepared well.
Driveway surfacing needs some attention (no doubt in hand) and Annexe accommodation access by many steps challenging for the less able and not under cover. Public access roads scary for a City dweller at night and my Sat-Nav took me over the Painswick Pinnacle.
Very helpful receptionist, lovely room which was beautifully furnished and immaculately clean, very comfortable bed. We had a lovely evening meal in the restaurant and breakfast was excellent too.
The shower needed some attention and was difficult to control. Evening restaurant staff were a bit chaotic and service was very slow - although, to be fair, the hotel had a big private dinner going on at the same time.
Very comfortable room and bed, very helpful staff, first class restaurant
Being shown to Room 55 up about 50 steps. We suggested a room on a lower floor would be better & that was done very quickly. Reception should have noted we were not mountain goats. Hotel not heavily booked so no need to tuck us away in ATTIC
Everything very good except...
As we left we found items added to the bill, which they immediately agreed were not ours. Was it a scam or a genuine mistake?? I don't know, but take care!!
Breakfast included in price and was v posh and lovely!!
Bar man was rude and not helpful during afternoon tea. Not many staff around for lunch menu
Value for money for b&b with excellent views from bedroom , dining room and excellent service
staff were great, good sized room comfortable bed, lovely sheets and duvets, overlooking the patio area, plenty of storage.
The room was a bit tired and needed some tlc (curtain tie back hooks fell out of the wall when closed curtains, paint peeling off radiator in the bathroom, tile grout discoloured and a stained carpet.
needs to be redecoraded
The staff were friendly polite and well dressed. Nothing was too much trouble . Conversation was appropriate and showed a genuine interest in you as a client.
The stairs to the annex were a little too steep and too many for one if our party. However we had not enquired about lifts etc. but it wasn't a problem.
Almost everything was in good order. Our room was spacious and comfortable. For once, there was fresh milk to have in your better than average instant coffee in the morning!
Our only gripe was during dinner. I ordered the mullet, and whilst it was delicious, the piece was no more than 2.5 x 1.5 inches in size!!! My wife had the pork belly - again delicious - but was too much for her to eat, a fact for which I was very grateful.
Location and price
Room decor Uncomfortable bed Lack of light in ensuite Bistro food was bland and overpriced and breakfast disappointing.
The staff were attentive and friendly, the room was lovely & the setting was beautiful.
No ground floor rooms and no lift, but I did know that before I went. Breakfast: Fried bread was DRIPPING with oil and scrambled eggs were hard & rubbery. Asked for extra strong coffee and it arrived looking like extra weak tea.
Countryside setting, beautiful manor house. We opted for half board and it did not disappoint, both the breakfast and evening meal were delicious.
Decor tired inside but this offer more than made up for this. If paying full price I may have been slightly disappointed.
the staff very helpful. Excellent nights sleep one on the queitest Very good breakfast and value for money We plan to book again for a long stay.
Plumbing was rather old and a struggle to open the bedroom windows
Lovely room and location. Helpful staff and friendly welcome. Excellent breakfast.
Mattress a bit soft and not to our taste but room comfy.
Bathroom needs to be updated. Shower was really poor.
Delighted with the accommodation thank you!!.
