Although a bit off the beaten track for what we wanted it was still in a lovely and picture perfect location. The rooms were roomy and well laid out and the bed was very comfortable and huge :-) . The bath was a decent size and lots of hot water. The staff were very helpful. Just wish we'd had longer to enjoy more of the facilities - excellent value for money.
The relaxed atmosphere was most welcoming and the breakfast was first class.
The bed wad a bit too soft for me but everything else was very good.
Attentive staff, relaxed but professional. Made us feel very welcome. Clean room well equipped. Lovely country setting but close to motorway.
Nothing... Well not not having wifi in all rooms.
Rooms were very comfortable.
Dinner and breakfast was very sparse. My sea bass was the size of a fish finger but very well cooked. Breakfast was a little short as well Half a slice of black pudding!!!!!!!
Room was clean and the location was pleasant. Breakfast was good.
Reception staff need to work on their customer service skills. Room was small.
The welcome and attentive staff were appreciated. Lovely style to the hotel which is perfectly located with views over Gloucester. The keenly priced room was comfortable if a little tired, though it was in keeping with its charming context. The food was excellent.
*Ambience of hotel excellent, food choices excellent & quality of meals great *Cotswolds area great for exploring, walking, driving
*Staff stressed (wedding one night we were there) * No lift, top floor ~40 steps - not very suitable for older guests
Wedding facilities and organisation good. Nice location
Room was a bit tired. Bath was dirty with lots of hair in plug and moldy grout. Breakfast was average quality.
Large room, comfortable bed, good facilities. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was excellent. The evening meals were to a high standard with a wide choice.
Décor was a bit tired - some peeling wallpaper for example.
The Jacuzzi bath was lovely. Comfortable room, but could do with a little updating. All staff very helpful and pleasant. Nice area to sit outside, but healed shoes slip through the wooden decking, be careful. Food and drink nice.
We went for a wedding and the room the service was held in, was extremely hot, no fans provided, very uncomfortable. Not keen on hanging around for breakfast food to be brought out bit by bit. Need to invest in some way to keep food warm for longer and provide more than 1 rasher of bacon each.
No air-con in room
poor breakfast too many steps to room and no lift
the look of this building is lovely
slow service at breakfast having to ask after nearly an hour to order food which when was bought to us was cold
GREAT VIEWS, EXCELLENT FOOD WITH PLENTY OF CHOICE FOR BREAKFAST AND DINNER AND STAFF WHO WERE HELPFUL AND FRIENDLY
ROOMS A LITTLE SHABBY , I HAD DIFFICULTY GETTING THE SHOWER TO DELIVER WATER AT THE RIGHT TEMPERATURE, BUT PLENTY OF HOT WATER FOR A BATH INSTEAD
On the third floor. No elevator and no one to carry our luggage up the stairs. My husband is 64!
Spacious, comfortable room and a fantastic jacuzzi! Friendly warm staff!
A wee bit 'tired' in bathroom decoration!
The room was comfortable with good décor and facilities, restaurant and breakfast food good.
View spoil by wedding marque, wedding party naturally boisterous, would like the option when booking to know if a wedding was booked.
very helpful staff, fine breakfast
Lovely building very helpful and obliging staff. Room was very large and comfortable..
Our room was up several flights of stairs very long way up. The room itself could do with a lick of paint. The bar was very unappealing bit like "waiting for god" The price of drinks was extortionately high and certainly not worth the price to sit in such morbid surroundings. Do not travel into Gloucester city it is extremely run down and very dirty, although Gloucester Quays is very bright and modern but they need to invest money in the city centre.
Friendly Staff and a Good Location
It was a lovely old building
Our room was very disappointing, room 4 is at the front over the entrance it is noisy fairly early in the morning with delivery lorries. The room needs some TLC, there is damp and lifting wallpaper by the window, the ceiling paint is peeling away and the window still has a nasty crack right across it. The bathroom taps are very difficult to turn on full enough to get a decent flow of water but in general the room needs to be refitted. The cooked breakfast is very meagre the sausage looked like it had been sitting around for a while and I have never had half a disc of blackpudding before! you could eat from the buffet of cereal and cold meat etc but we didn't want that, so we had to fill up on toast, to us it was style over substance.
Good setting and the breakfast was good. Okay for the price. (Paid £72 for the night)
The room decor needs refreshing and the shower was not very good.
An overpriced dinner. A malfunctioning shower.
Beautiful rooms Lovely staff
Car park was full....not too big a deal though
