Pleasant location and grounds
1. There was a noisy wedding 2. Noise in an adjacent room until 2.30am 3. Single beds in a double room 4. Very poor quality bed
good food, and service
The corridors to the rooms need some TLC. Also ome of the rooms also need redecoration, room 208 bathroom past its best despite the room being OK.
amazing natural landscape and gardens on the doorstep. great golf course. nice hotel golf course with emphasis on the golf side rather than the hotel. Good food locally sourced small menu of well prepared dished in the restaurant and some local ales in the bar.
only very minor criticisms as the positives more than made up for them. no gym no pool. this place sees a lot of golfers and is a bit of time warp feels a tiny bit tired but everything is properly presented and well turned out
All was great from as soon as we arived. The staff were first class. The room was fine for the price, clean, plenty of tea and coffee. We found the towells eventually!!! It was great to be on the ground floor as I have troublde with a bad hip. Food was very good and a nice choice. All served by polite frendly staff. Shame they didnt have name tags on in the restuarant and we could have mentioned them by name. Allin all a lovely visit and am already saving to go again.
The hotels dercoration is a little tired. window sills outside peeling etc. Also as a Wedding was due that day I felt that the grounds arround the reception could have been cleaned up. An apple core was on a table, a plastic bottle rolling around and plastic bag flying about and the ever annoying cigaret buts!
Super beds, excellent food and free golf.
Would have liked a comfy chair in the room.
pleasant grounds and reasonable bar snacks
being woken at 1.00pm by very drunk and foul mouthed adjoining guests. Event ually had to complain and duty manager did shut them up and got them to turn off their loud music by 2.00pm however we were woken again repeatedly at hourly intervals by loud and at times foul-mouthed guests returning to their bedrooms. Clearly a location for middle aged men to get extremely and unpleasantly drunk but not, in consequence, suitable for other guests
sorry external state of the hotel
The hotel was nice and staff will recomend it to ex hubby he likes golf, area nice,
I was very surprised at the state of the door to our room and entrance paint peeling badly, room small and very hot and loo handle dicy ,for the price not good enough
quiet location.good breakfasts.free wifi
windows which needed a bit of tlc and repair did not open enough when we stayed on a fairly hot couple of days.not all bbc tv and radio channels were available.
Friendly staff (especially Pauline), clean room and lovely location
Excellent location for the fabulous golf course.
Room was very dirty mould growing in the bathroom, carpets had large stains the room needed an industrial clean.
room clean and comfy.
windows unable to open.noise from function until the early hours.another room taking a early morning shower with the noise from the power shower unable to sleep past 6.30am.but breakfast was very poor asked for poached eggs and was unable to eat them as the whites were runny and so under cooked
Lovely country setting and helpful staff.
Urgently in need of renovation.
Fantastic location and friendly staff
Awful dinner. "Golf Club" standard
Staff were excellent - Evening meal was good
Rooms were a dated and need to be updated, although comfortable
Staff were great especially Helen in reception - she was excellent Restaurant manager was excellent - josh and Lauren were helpful - so good
Shower was weak in water power strength
We enjoyed the whole experience, had a wonderfull time
there wasn't anything we didn't like
Excellent receptionist on book in/out. Nice room even if a little dated. Very good value for the money. Beautiful location.
Cobwebs all over the ceiling. Noisy cleaners in the morning.
Conveniently situated for Hodnet Shooting Ground where I was shooting in a Competion all weekend. The breakfast was very good.
The building is shabby and in need of refurbishment and re decoration. Other Hotel guests were very noisy during my stay.
Location and the food was good. Outlook over golf course was pleasant. I had a problem with the room and they did move me to another after a second prompt.
Whole hotel is a bit tired and in need of serious refurbishment. Attitude of one staff member was poor.
Nice setting good food and a good night,s sleep.
Have stayed several times over the years, the annexe where we stayed looked in need of a coat of paint, very shabby on the outside. The price for a pint of beer almost the same as the belfry. ,Not justified in my opinion.
Lovely suite, tasty breakfast, idyllic location.
As its a golf course there were a lot of groups of men staying, hotel tired looking vut still comfortable.
The location was beautiful and we thoroughly enjoyed Hawkestone Park Follies.
The rooms were in need of redecoration and were basic. The breakfast buffet needed to be filled and checked as we had to wait for beans and bacon to be cooked by which time the rest of our breakfast had gone cold.
Beautiful views across the golf course/parkland. Accessibilty room was well appointed with walk-in shower and support bars.Comfortable king sized bed.Thisroom was offerred at no extra cost when it was realised my partner was having to use crutches because of a broken leg.The staff in general were helpful and the restaurant staff in particular were very very pleasant and efficient.
Management seemed to have decided to ignore the needs of the disabled outside the hotel and had placed tables and chairs in the only disabled parking areas adjacent to the entrance.Unfortunately because the hotel has its golf courses we were awakened at 6.30am by the greenkeepers cutting the grass with sit on machines which went on continuously until our departure at 10.30am.
Staff were excellent. Nothing was too much trouble for them.
We booked late & were not in the main building. The walls were thin & when our neighbours arrived back in their room at 2.15am we could hear how many biscuits they wanted, how much sugar in his coffee & what time they set their alarm.
