Well placed on the outskirt of the city in a quite village setting and in easy reach of the river walks.cofortable surroudings well suited for the moer mature couples.
Difficulty parking as there were weddings at the hotel both nights we stayed.
Excellent breakfast, helpful welcoming staff, easy bus ride into Oxford, comfortable rooms. A hotel with character and a good choice for business or pleasure if you don't want to be in the heart of oxford
Hotel parking a bit of a nightmare.
Having to leave
Location is good and the decor very nice. Enjoyed our stay as it was only for one night!
Room situated above restaurant so lots of noise! Expensive considering no walk in shower, no wireless internet access in room, breakfast served warm not hot! And no time to have cereal or fruit before cooked breakfast is served!
We were given a hot stuffy room next to the loading bay and a smoking area, so couldn't even open the one small window all the time
Good quality hotel
Good location: 10 min bus ride to the centre or beautiful 40 min walk along the Thames. Spacious room, free parking, good breakfast.
No fridge and safe in room.
Environment, nice parkland at hotel, breakfast food is good. Free wifi, free parking but a bit crowded, have to park to remote Elm tower
A bit remote from town, quite some walking. Carpark right in front of window of room, so could be noisy at times.
Spacious room, comfy beds, bee-friendly toiletries.
close vicinity to centre of town
Hotel ideally situated to visit Oxford. Staff helpful and polite. Hotel lovely, lots of places to sit, chat and drink. Nice dining room and Breakfast huge selection . This is our second visit and will definitely visit again .
Location, room, service, breakfast
Comfortable beds, large and clean rooms, great location and well appointed rooms.
Restaurant was middling at best - mouldy melon on the breakfast tray, hard poached eggs. Staff were impersonal and disinterested in service provision. Room was really hot as we couldn't open the windows fully. I didn't particularly want to request a fan at 1am....
Staff were fantastic and helpful. The restaurant was excellent
That the only credit card facilities that were working were AMEX
We requested an early check in as we had a wedding to attend and needed to change into our wedding attire and we were accommodated at 11 am which was great. Breakfast choice for me was kedgeree which was really lovely.
The mattress had a plastic cover on it which was horrible to sleep on. I slept very badly as a result.
Been before only this time had two doubles and a family room which was amazing. Child had her own area within main room but no safety issues or invasion of privacy,.recommended
No spa facilities
Receptionists were helpful. The room was clean, comfortable and well equipped. Good parking facilities and lovely grounds.
The dinner was expensive and the vegetarian menu was poor. The breakfast buffet was limited and was not topped up.
Nice size rooms ,good location, nice and clean ,good breakfast
Foam mattress ,
The restaurant was very good and the staff pleasant The room was clean. The outside area was nice.
The TV remote did not work. the room smelt as if it had damp. It was very noisy on the Saturday night and we were woken at 7am by a trolley being wheeled up and down the corridor. One of the receptionists was rude when we checked out.
Restuarant food, quality of breakfast, bedroom location, bath and black out curtains. Friendlyness of all staff. The hotel was ideally situated just off the river bank pathway into Oxford and proved ideal for a nice stroll into Oxford.
Breakfast staff were largely unsupervised/untrained? which lead to incomplete cutlery/crockery on the tables plus I always had to ask for more orange juice and breakfast breads (I'd expect the staff to check these as they walk past these areas regularly and should spot and top up without being prompted)
As a wedding venue it was great, the staff were very friendly, and spoke English very well, I mean those not of this country, other wise very good
Parking was a lottery, bed hard, general maintenance of the bath room, could improve, had too remove the pop up plug to let the water out, of the bucket type sink, which needed two gallons of water before you could wash
First room had a running toilet. Second had a heater in the bathroom that was stuck on "On". Too hot for the summer to even be in the bathroom. Staff was helpful but unable to fix these problems. The hotel in general seemed unorganized.
This hotel exceeded all my expectations, sky tv, bathrobes, safe, iron and ironing board, free bottled water, tea and coffee tray and a very good breakfast selection including eggs benedict!! And locally sourced products.
The bed was a little hard for my preference
Staff are very friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was excellent. Very nice setting in well kept grounds. About a fiver into the centre of Oxford by taxi. Very clean.
