The food is good with service to match. Comfortable beds and peace and quiet. Request to turn off the Musak in the dining room was successful The lighting in the bedroom was very poor - impossible to read. The staff were not on duty during the afternoons and if you forgot your room key it meant a wait for access until the bar opened at 5 p,m. The Village Tea Rooms and shop (not the responsibility of the Hawnby Inn) are overdue a visit by Trading Standards.

Nice and Friendly. Good breakfast. It's a bit further out in the sticks than we expected.

Very cosy room and the sherry was a nice touch after a fun drive down steep country lanes in the dark and fog! Great evening meal. Fabulous location for walking - all on your door step. And having no mobile reception was a welcome break! The bar wasnt as cosy as I might expect from such a country location - upright wooden chairs and benches. More sofas and open fires would be lovely. The nightly room price is quite steep for effectively a top end b and B. Albeit a very nice one!

Very friendly. Nothing too much trouble for the staff. Neat and clean but unpretentious. Very good food. A bit disappointed there was no game on the menu as we were there in the middle fo the shopoting season.

We like the location with no mobile phone reception. Just peace and tranquilty for the whole weekend. A quiet and secluded spot in lovely countryside. The accommodation was good and the staff and service really friendly and attentive.
