Hotel ovvero guest house di tutto rispetto con servizi e stanze alla pari di un buon tre stelle s, nessuna cosa fuori posto e colazione ottima.

Non lo consiglio a persone che hanno problemi a salire le scale. A meno di non prendere la camera al piano terra.

Our superior double, assuring you of a sea view, was on the side of the house but did have a lovely large bay window with a window seat giving o great view overlooking Falmouth and the sea.

During the week we stayed at 3 different b&bs. Hawthorne Dene was the most expensive but provided the poorest breakfast.

Hawthorne Dene was adequate for our needs and was as described in the booking.com website

Hawthorne Dene was a little outmoded, the period features and the photographs were overdone.

The Hawthorne Dene is unlike other hotels we've stayed in. If you want simple Ikea furnished rooms, this hotel isn't for you but we loved the treasure trove of interesting photos, antique furniture, super comfy bed and other touches like teddy bears in all the rooms! It was just like being at home with the added luxury of a delicious cooked breakfast every day and someone to clean the room! The proprietor made us feel welcome, even with our slightly boisterous 14 month old son! The walk to town took no more than 15 minutes (with a pushchair too!) and Falmouth is a brilliant base for exploring the rest of the Cornish coast. We will be back to Hawthorne Dene.

Convenient for the venue event that weekend, only a 10 minute walk away, useful Spar shop nearby, very quiet away from the noisy venue on closing, very comfortable room and excellent breakfast. I would definitely consider booking again.

Perfect classic Victorian Hotel with lovely service, staff, cleanliness and facilities. Close to the beach and a 10 minute walk to town. Excellent!

Interesting surrondings, inside steeped in history

Hawthorne Dene Hotel feels more like a high-quality guest house. It's excellent: clean and well-decorated rooms; great shower; friendly staff; good location, and hearty breakfasts (with variety in the menu). I stayed in a single room. It was quite small but I think this was fairly reflected in the price. And I had no problem sleeping at night....comfy bed and the place is very quiet. So if you're on a b&b budget, but want an experience more like being in a hotel than someone else's home, then you'll be fine at Hawthorne Dene. I'd happily stay there again.

Loads to like. A beautiful, spacious Edwardian House with fascinating pictures of the house and town in times gone by. Fabulous sea views from our two rooms at the top front- this may not be so with all rooms. Wonderful service:- rooms and beds very comfortable indeed with every provision thought of. Food excellent! Breakfast -plenty of choice, excellent quality of food, beautifully cooked. Proper coffee, loose leaf real tea. Friendly, kind hosts. Location close to the wonderful Gyllyngvase beach and to Falmouth. The hosts have struck a perfect balance of being attentive yet relaxed. I would say the quality of everything was one of the memorable features. We would recommend it very highly. It has a bar for the evenings and a lovely lounge, though we did not use these facilities. The rooms had eg hair driers, small sewing kits etc provided- useful for us as we were there for our daughter's graduation. We had not stayed there before but we wished we had discovered it earlier. Also, this hotel provided a single room as well as a double. It is not always possible to find that combination and it was one of the reasons for our choice.

We liked everything. There was nothing we would have changed.

I liked the quiry teddy bear touches. I loved the sea view, and the breakfast was excellent quality.

Nice comfy room. Very pleasent owner.

Showerwas very disapointing, did not work very well at all.
