Bed very comfortable. Room nice. Close to local bus stop. Bedlights too dim to be able to read in bed. Cold water in bathroom sink was very warm. |

The hotel is in a carefully restored older building on a picturesque street near the Haymarket Train station. Everyone was exceptionally friendly & helpful. I had the single room, and it was simply perfect for one person. (two people could have managed as well) I was expecting a typical continental breakfast, but was pleasantly surprised, when I discovered that in addition to the continental fair, full breakfasts were also 'made to order'. The hotel truly met & exceeded my expectations. (especially for a place rated as a 3 star hotel) I will definitely stay there again the next time I'm in Edinburgh. I really can't think of any negatives from my own personal stand point. The only thing that some people might want to consider, is that the hotel is located a little away from the center of Edinburgh (lovely 20 minute walk), with public transportation downtown just a 'hop, skip & a jump" from the hotel. Personally I prefer this sort of location as it's much quieter & generally better value for my dollar. |

We did like the hotel location because we did not have a car and we were able to walk everywhere. We did like our nice and clean room. |

It was close to the city centre and the night receptionist was very helpful. At breakfast the 2nd course was served whilst you were still eating the first course. When poited out, the message was ignored as later arrivals recieved the same service. |

We felt that both the hot and cold breakfast selection were very good. Lighting was poor in bedroom and fittings needed attention. Tea-making facilities could be improved. Wardrobe hanging and drawer space was limited. |

The rooms were very spacious and the breakfast was excellent. Staff treated guests politely and efficiently. 1. Lack of a lift was a problem, especially since our room was on the top floor. 2. The hotel could do a better job of describing its location online (add a map). |

The staff were very friendly and attentive. The hotel is in a perfect location for most of the attractions in Edinburgh but far enough away from the noise of the City center. Also not too far from the airport. |

Location was excellent for our needs - an ideal distance from the hustle and bustle of the West End and City Centre attractions. Breakfast was very good, well cooked and nicely presented. Ideally placed for football at Tynecastle or Rugby at Murrayfield Some of the housekeeping left a little to be desired, but not enough to prevent us to returning in the future. |

1. The room was in the basement. 2.We arrived late at nite and had dificulty finding the hotel. 3. The hotel did not have any reserved parking, and it was difficult to find street parking. |

A very convenient location, spacious and clean room, breakfast included and of decent quality. Friendly staff. The finish and decoration of the room had many small details that were 'rough around the edges'. More attention to detail would greatly improve the quality of the room. |
