Pleasant and efficient check in. Room large and comfortable. Window in room did not open properly. Breakfast on 2nd morning very bad. Had to wait 50 minutes to be served! Cook off sick which is fair enough but we were not told until after breakfast - Should have advised guests that there would be a long delay. We were constantly advised that breakfast " won't be a minute" Hotel offered to get taxi so that we did not miss our tour bus. taxi arrived OK but we had to pay for it!! Totally unacceptable - great advert for Scotland?!! Overall, very poor value for money.

The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Breakfasts were hot and tasty. Full breakfast cooked to order!!! We stayed in the family room (4 ladies) room was clean and comfortable. Modern bathroom with wonderful hot showers and great water pressure. Easy access to Princes St and Royal Mile by bus or a bit of a walk if you are so inclined. Thanks to Ritchie and staff for a truly wonderful stay.

Room was comfortable and relatively quiet. Wireless network enabled me to carry out business. Service was polite and friendly. Room was not as clean as it should have been - I found orange peel on the floor and the tops of the mirrors had a good coating of dust! The food served for breakfast was not the highest quality (poor, fatty bacon, dried up scrambled eggs). The location is not the best - too far from where it all happens, but I guess one has to excuse that at this price. Anyway, Edinburgh is in a mess at the moment with the crazy tram-works!

Lovely room, excellent breakfast, central location. No lift, and no one to help with luggage when we arrived late evening. Help was available in morning when we were leaving.

Clean hotel, friendly staff. Would recommend to others only when tram work is complete, assuming this will alleviate smell of sewers from en suite. Difficulty accessing due to work on trams, no parking and parking available once found was difficult to access due to work on trams. Bad smell in bathroom, ?due to work on trams, smelt like open sewer

Staff are so welcoming, room was lovely we even had our own outside sitting area and was private. Cant hear traffic (not there is much). Your close enough to walk to all the shops and attractions (5mins) but the hotel is just far enough away so your not in a busy area and walking back to hotel with a load of junks from the bars and clubs. If you want some where to stay where you can really feel at home this is a great cheap hotel. I have recommened it to family and friends. No phone signal in our room as we were low down (small problem I know but when you have kids at home you worry).

The price was good and it had WiFi. Most of the staff was very friendly and helpful. The bathroom looked new. It was near the train station. There was no lift. It was a longer walk from the Royal Mile than we were led to believe. The dining room was next door. I signed up for a room with free breakfast on the Internet and instead received room only.

We enjoyed our stay at the Haymarket Hotel, it was a 2minute walk from the Haymarket stop on the aircoach bus, as well as the bus into the city. We had minimal dealings with the staff but they seemed very warm and friendly. The location was also great for Haymarkey railway station, and it was in a nice quiet area. The only slight issue we had, which is beyond the control of the hotel owners, would be the ongoing disruption from Haymarket to Princes Street which means it takes a little longer to get into the city, and also makes the taxi ride a little more expensive.

I thought the room was lovely, clean and comfortable. My only bad thing would be that the windows were single glazed and you could hear the traffic outside. The staff were lovely and friendly, really enjoyed my stay
