Close to Station and a leisurely walk to main attractions.Breakfast staff were lovely and offered more tea and toas.On arrival lady was very helpful explaining where the hotel was in relation to centre and attractions, also advised re local transport . There was black damp on ceiling, and room was very nice apart from curtains which could have done with updating .We were advised on our arrival that Sunday morning breakfast would be served at adjoining hotel.l, however as breakfast was served only between 8 and 9.30am there were guests waiting in the reception area of hotel to go into breakfast, and after going for a walk we still had to wait 10 mins for table to be cleared for us.The waitress was brilliant though!

Pleasant and efficient check in. Room large and comfortable. Window in room did not open properly. Breakfast on 2nd morning very bad. Had to wait 50 minutes to be served! Cook off sick which is fair enough but we were not told until after breakfast - Should have advised guests that there would be a long delay. We were constantly advised that breakfast " won't be a minute" Hotel offered to get taxi so that we did not miss our tour bus. taxi arrived OK but we had to pay for it!! Totally unacceptable - great advert for Scotland?!! Overall, very poor value for money.

Furnishings of room.Location to bus stop. View from rooms mo 16, 17,20, 21 are on yard full of rubish and dirt. The room was very dark ,bedspread was damaged, imposible to open wardrobe ( no knob or key). The building is old and needs renovation. There are six big rubish containers very close to hotel entrance. The hotel should has two not three stars.Generaly Coates Gardens Street is derelict.

Room was clean, staff pleasant. Hotel easy to access from railway station. Room small, mattress VERY hard, poor soundproofing. Quality of cooked breakfast quite poor. We visited during Edinburgh Festival so expected inflated prices. But the hotel was very overpriced for the quality of accommodation. I could only recommend if booked for a better rate out of season However staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

Nothing the apartment let it all down, we just could not wait to leave, if Edinburgh was not so busy, we would have walk out and found alternative accommodation. We were up graded to the Haymarket's so called luxury apartment, which was very, very dirty, the kitchen we did not touch at all, because the fridge was again very dirty had not be cleaned for over a year I would say, the cooker the same, washing up left on side with a very, very dirt tea-towel and under the sink it was so disgusting I was all most going to call the Health Inspector and we think the people before us had just left and the cleaners must have only changed the bedding, which again disgusting. The curtains in the lounge were hanging off the rail, wires crossing the room to speakers on the walls, a coat hanger hanging off a wire to one of the speakers, the furture was nothing like on the internet and it smell very musty. We were horrified and would not recommend this to anyone. We did go back to the Hotel side next morning early due to no one sleeping at all well to see the manager and after a phone call to his boss they gave us £40 back to have a breakfast elsewhere only because we think he wanted us out of the Hotel reception area and why we were waiting for the manger to come back we looked around the little reception area and that was very dirty.

Location was good. The airport bus service was very easy to take from the airport to the hotel and from the hotel to the airport. Price and the quality didn't meet. Money did't get value... overrated room prices.

Room was clean and cosy though was old. Bathroom was renovated well and clean. It was pretty close to the Haymarket station so if you're taking the train, it' pretty close by. Building was old so Robocop was always touring in the corridors and stairways. We couldn't sleep between 8 and 10:30 in the morning during which breakfast was being served downstairs.

The locations was ideal. It is a small homely hotel, comfortable warm and friendly. The only problem I had was parking. There was only street parking and very hard to find space. I had to move the car in the morning before 7.30 from a residental car parking space to a metered space.

Staff was really kind and helpful. Rooms perfectly clean, huge bathroom and confortable beds. Nice breakfast. Warm and nice place to stay. 10 or15 min walk from the castle and the old center. The deskman forgot to order a taxi at 6am like we asked so we were a bit in a rush to grab a taxi in order to go to the airport. A bit annoying but there are a lot of taxis in the street even at 6am...

Very friendly people, always helpful explaining things to foreigners. Our room to the backside was very quiet. The Haymarket is next to the "Airlink" bus line from the airport to the inner city, the Haymarket station just 1 minute off. Our room was nicely furnitured, and two more rooms we had a chance to see, were nice, too.

The location is quite good. You can reach the city centre on foot. The rooms are in need of refurbishment. Our bathroom was really dirty and we never received fresh towels during our stay.

It is very close to the bus stop and an easy connect to all the sights in Edinburgh. I choose it because I didn't want to pay the high price of staying right downtown. The airport bus "Airlink" also stops at the bus stop and was an easy connect to the airport. Location....Location....Location. This is not a modern hotel but it was comfortable. Sheets and towels were clean but the carpeting was not ! The breakfast room was very crowded (Maybe all the guests were trying to eat at the same time).

It's really easy to get to the hotel from the airport. There's a shuttle bus that takes you to the centre (and hotel) in 20 minutes and will cost you 3,5 pounds or 6 pounds return. The hotel is located near the centre with all there shops, pubs and off course the Castle. The staff was very friendly and helpfull. The hotel room was very nice and clean! I would recommend this hotel to everyone!

Absolutely a great stay at the Haymarket Place. The staff right from the reception to the breakfast personel was extremely polite and friendly. The brekafast, incl. the porridge and pudding, was abundant and delicious. Our special thanks go to that young Irish lady with dark hair and a pony tail, who has been working there just about a month, and to Graig in the bar. A pintful of thanks for that half-a-pint! Within walking distance of the city. Room was clean and comfy. The woman who checked us in was helpful with info about getting around the city and places to eat nearby. No free parking available for guests, only metered street parking which was expensive. We ended up taking our rental car back early as the daily parking was going to cost more than the car rental!

The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel with its stairs is not suitable for elderly people. The hotel was clean, there was no phone in the room, the window was defective, wallpaper was peeling off the wall in one small spot. The decor was dark giving a somewhat claustrophobic aspect

Haymarket is a good hotel for a few nights stay. Close to the airport on the west side of the town and also close walking distance to city center. Calm surroundings, overall good staff and small family brekafast seating gives an overall value for money touch.

The location of this hotel worked for our purposes - within walking distance of central shopping and sight seeing areas. Also the convenience of the Airlink bus to and from the Airport. The breakfast was adequate, the room quiet and the bathroom was well appointed. Over all, it was a good choice for us.
