Score from 273 reviews Very good
Big roomy bedroom, friendly staff, very good cooked breakfast, located around corner from airport link bus stop and city bus stops. Only about 2 kms from city centre. No traffic noise.
One of us has a weak back and found the bed was too hard. I thought it was good. Seems many bedroom doors wont close without slamming it. This caused a minor disturbance to others and to us. But, fortunately guests were all in by 9.00 pm (2100 hrs).
Great location near the Haymarket Railway.
lovely friendly staff
no lift . poor value for money
I liked everything, nothing can be added!
The room, staff and helpfulness was second to none. The staff were supportive and helpful about parking and ability to get around Edinburgh.
The staff were very friendly and attentive. Accommodation was very comfortable.
Convenient to station and City Center and it's attractions. Staff was very helpful. Room was very nicely maintained.
Room was up 3 flights of stairs. We stored our luggage in the bar and it was not locked up.
Location Comfy bed Breakfast
Small en suite No lift Impersonal
staff were friendly. good location.
bed uncomfortable. couldnt open window, it was too hot. no herb teas in room.
Location to bus, train and tram, and Haymarket pub. staff was helpful about getting around.
Carrying cases up 48 stairs to get to room. smokers on steps into building. Noise from main road.
I liked the prompt attention to a maintenance issue. The gentleman was funny and full of what to do during our stay. He even poured me a vodka. I had intended to drop them a note and will do once I get myself sorted out as I had an accident in Italy and broke my arm. I have already mentioned the Hotel to a couple of clients. Who plan to travel in June next year.
Staffs are friendly and helpful Location is great Very clean Quiet area
Pleasant, helpful receptionist who gave lots of useful information on transport. we visit Edinburgh regularly but have never stayed in this area before. would certainly book this hotel again and would be happy to recommend it toothers
I like that the hotel is near Haymarket station. It make the trip is really good and easy to self-travelling.
I chose it because I had to stay overnight in Edinburgh and the hotel is just 100m from the airport bus stop at Haymarket Rail Station, and I had to get a train the next morning. I have stayed in other hotels in the area before bur from now on I will stick to the Haymarket. No real complaint about previous ones but, if anything, staff at the Haymarket were particularly friendly and helpful (waiting for my arrival from the airport well after midnight and accompanying me to my room). Also, my room (it was a single) was well appointed (flat TV screen, proper wardrobe, bedside table, small work table and proper reading lamps). Plenty of coffee/tea/milk. When asked for breakfast a kipper and poached eggs (perfectly cooked) they were happy to oblige, even though not on the menu. All with a smile.
Its a 5 min walk from the train station, and close to a shop.a
Friendly, helpful efficient staff. Lovely comfortable, clean room. Location was excellent, very close to rail, bus and tram links and great link to airport via very regular airport bus. Didn't book breakfast so can't comment on food.
It closeness to Haymarket train station, taxis and buses
The toilet plumbing did not work on arrival and the next morning despite someone "fixing" it the night before.
Very helpful staff especially because we changed our booking at the last minute and we had bikes. Excellent location close to the station. Lovely triple, we enjoyed our stay. Elaine was super helpful, cheers everyone.
I don't know why people have classed this as 1 or 2. The hotel is great for a short stay. It is friendly, clean and quiet, and the location is amazing. Really good hotel, the room was nice and big and staff were very friendly and helpful.
Nothing - hotel was fine.
The cleanliness of the hotel, it's quietness, it's relative nearness to the town centre. Over all excellent value. Would definitely use the Haywood again.
rooms furnished in lovely old style furniture and staff are welcoming breakfast served by efficient staff was excellent quality would definitely recommend.
