Good location. Nice room. Decent breakfast . Very helpful staff.
Noisy guests. Toilet wiggled.
what a great spot!! the room was just renovated and was 5 star quality. and the staff from waitress to the owner are very helpful and always willing to help. good breakfast too.
The hotel was a 5 min walk from the tram and haymarket train station.
There wasn't a hair dryer in the room as stated.
everything about this hotel is just perfect for a comfy stay in Edinburgh with value for money.Staff are really friendly and the location is perfect with the buses and trams just outside the door to take u to princes st.Highly Recommend.
Good location; only 15 mins walk from ciy center, and convenient w.r.t. public transport. Quiet. Friendly staff.
No Internet in rooms. My room was very cold.
Stayed there for 3 days and I can say that staff is really helpful, hotel is lovely, cosy and warming. Maybe is not located in the center of Edinburgh, but it is very close to Haymarket Rail Station and the bus station, and by night is that an advantage, since it is located in a calm street. Would definitly come back.
Can't say because we'v stay only one night.Room and bed perfect..
The staff were very friendly, helpful and willing. I stayed with a group of 9 ladies and we all enjoyed the stay and the comfort at the hotel. The majority of the group were 60+ and found the walk to the centre just the right distance. I would definitely stay here again.
The only let-down was the downstairs wc. It was in need of renovation.
Location is excellent. Staff was helpful. Building is pleasant and easy to locate.
Small bed was very hard and double bed mattress slopes down on edge. I am guessing it is old. Felt like I was going to roll out of my side of bed of I was near the edge.
Location, privacy, nice staff, suitable room for impaired mobility
Bath mat was soiled.....didn't feel comfortable using.
The staff were very friendly. It was very central to town and very clean and comfortable.I would recommend the hotel and would have no hesitation in staying there again.
The staff were helpful and friendly throughout! The location is great and not far from princes street!
Location, ease of check-in , help with planning a tour of the highlands, clean room and value for money
The shower in Room 7 was broken and when fixed did not work properly
Unfortunately the mattress on my bed was covered with brown stains and had to be replaced. This was very distasteful.
Pristine new room, good location for local transport, adequate breakfast and friendly staff at a fair price for a city hotel.
Basement room in neighbouring property under renovation with untidy entrance. Concerned about bars on all the windows or out room and no clear fire exit/instructions.
Breakfast was good and the location very good bus stop very near
We booked this hotel almost 9 months before the Ryder Cup (most hotels were already sold out even then). We arrived late at night, only to find that they had no record of our reservation; which would have been a disaster because every hotel was sold out. Fortunately, they owned a flat nearby and let us use that. The staff was awesome and they turned a potential disaster into a great outcome.
Big roomy bedroom, friendly staff, very good cooked breakfast, located around corner from airport link bus stop and city bus stops. Only about 2 kms from city centre. No traffic noise.
One of us has a weak back and found the bed was too hard. I thought it was good. Seems many bedroom doors wont close without slamming it. This caused a minor disturbance to others and to us. But, fortunately guests were all in by 9.00 pm (2100 hrs).
Great location near the Haymarket Railway.
Myself and a group of friends stayed end of September 2014, between us we had three rooms, 2 x double and 1 x quad. All rooms were decorated tastefully with en-suite modern shower rooms. Everyone completely happy with cleaniness and facilities in rooms. On arrival we were met by Ritchie who made us feel very welcome and took luggage to our rooms. He provided recommendations on places to eat and showed us the local transport links, which also showed the hotel was in a very handy location. On our final day the hotel stored our lugguage until we returned to collect for a late flight. I would recommend the Haymarket Hotel to anyone visiting Edinburgh for a short stay trip. Service and location and rooms all very suitable.
Very good beds and shower and friendly receptionist and waitress.
Bed moved away from wall when I was sitting up in bed! No room service.
staff very good, shower excellent. excellent for haymarket station, and the trams and buses.
the room was not any thing like the pictures, window did not shut, room needed a good clean and painted. breakfast, 1 small sos, 2 small pieces bacon, thin piece black pudding, 1 egg, free range, very good. on the plus side, good choice of cereal and other things to help fill up, coffee first class.
