Haytor Hotel

Everything from start to finish. Nice welcome from manager, friendly and helpful staff, lovely twin bedded room with bath and shower and view over grounds, excellent breakfast, would recommend this hotel.

Can't think of anything we didn't like.

The accomodations were quietly luxurious. The beds were extremely comfortable and the bedrooms so nicely decorated. The hosts went out of their way to assist in making our stay wonderful. Chris made reservations, arranged a schedule for our touring and helped in anyway possible. Breakfast was was delicious and served with a smile. I would recommend the Haytor Hotel to anyone traveling to Tourquay.

Would have liked a luggage rack for the room.

The reception was very friendly and helpful. Rooms were comfortable and they met our request for a room on ground floor. Breakfast was excellent with a very attentive waitress. Bearing in mind the difficulty of parking in Torquay it was nice to have sufficient onsite parking for all guests. We received helpful advice on where to eat and where to visit.

Only complaint was the hill to the hotel but then Torquay is a very hilly resort.

Quiet hotel, situated in lovely grounds close to town centre. Excellent parking within its own grounds. Good facilities in our room. Wonderful choice of breakfast menu with excellent service

the things that impressed us was the little things but go along way like proper toilet paper, top quality towels which were changed daily, biscuits left daily next to kettle, breakfast was excellent with a wide choice, dining room was spotless and like the rest of the hotel was tastefully decorated, the staff were very helpful, altogether we would go back anytime we were in the area, highly recommend to all thinking of staying in torquay,

Excellent location near harbour, yet in quiet location with lovely lanscaped gardens. Staff very friendly and helpful. Nice little touches to internal decor - spotless!

were bikers down for a couple of days from swansea,use this hotel couple of times a year,good breakfast, clean,good location,plenty of room for free parking,nice quiet location away from seafront noise,only 5 mins walk to pubs,grub & seafront

Professional hosts, very nice property, clean and modern. Excellent breakfast in a lovely bright dining room, comfortable bed in a quiet location. I would certainly stay again.

We would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel for a stay in the Torbay area. The hotel is well appointed and full of character. It is a short walk from the centre of Torquay and convenient for local attractions. However, its strongest attribute is the friendly and helpful staff and management.

Lovely hotel Nice staff and very good breakfast. Would stay in main house next time rather than the annexe and pay for an upgrade.

Room was quite bare and walls extremely thin. Bad drain smell from bathroom

A really lovely friendly hotel. we were welcomed at the door by the owner who showed us to the lounge and explained details of the hotel. The front door is kept locked and we were given our own key for access whenever we required. this gave a real feeling of security combined with freedom. The room was beautiful and spotlessly clean. Plenty of drawer ans hanging space. A very good double size shower. Breakfast was served in the attractive dining room with a good choice of menu items. The location of the hotel is ideal for the shops and harbour in a very pleasant conservation area. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone

The kingsize bed was a little on the hard side. In the corridor to our room there was a strong odour of damp/stale water.

Not an over crowded hotel no noisy children ample car parking space and being able to have a peaceful nights sleep with no noisy revelers and loud televisions

Slight hill to climb to climb from town centre at night no worries in day as the bus stops outside in the day up to about 6 30 that is if you do not want to use a car

We booked the Haytor based on other reviews and we were not disappointed. The hotel was a short walk from the sea and other Torquay amenities in a quiet location.. Our room was well equipped and spotlessly clean with a good supply of tea, coffee and milk. Chris welcomed us on arrival and gave us all the information we needed. Breakfast was freshly cooked to order and good quality. Recommend the No.7 Fish Bistro for an evening meal. Great fresh fish and good service.

Very comfortable , tastefully appointed and friendly atmosphere with pleasant and helpful staff.

We were really pleased with the value this hotel stay represented. The hotel is smart, clean and well staffed. The room we had was at the top of the building and may not have been the largest room we have ever had but it was comfortable, clean and above all, quiet. We had peaceful sleep - what more can you ask of a hotel? The breakfast was a typical English Breakfast affair. The food was well cooked, tasty and served efficiently. The people were friendly and helpful. The hotel was a five minute walk from the centre of Torquay and restaurants (useful when its raining). All in all, a good stay that we are happy to repeat at some point.

I can't think of anything negative to say about this hotel.

Nothing was too much trouble. Chris and Robert were very friendly and made you feel at home. They had great knowledge of restaurants, places of interest and how to reach them. They booked restaurants and visits for us. The room was beautifully furnished, excellent shower and T.V. Breakfast was excellent with lovely service from Jean...a real treasure. A lovely terrace which catches the sun most of the day. Can't wait to visit again!

The only slight drawback is the steep hill but it's worth it!!

On booking in our host Chris was so helpful and informative recomending restaurants and bars . The breakfast was freshly cooked. Chris was always avaialble but " never in your face" to give directions and offer opinions of modes of transport to local areas.
