Every staff we came across was very helpful and friendly. The room was huge and clean. Breakfast was wonderful. Me and my parents loved the idea of staying in a beatiful castle. The whole experience at Hazlewood was the best!

For an extremely low rate, I slept in a 6 foot 4 poster bed with a separate lounge area and my friend got the suite with two large rooms. We could not believe our luck. The best bit was the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff along with the relaxed atmosphere throughout the hotel. Nothing was too much trouble and when I forgot my vanity case and arrived at 10pm without toiletries including a tootbrush, the reception made a special trip to a local garage to buy me one and refused to accept any money for it. Cannot recommend highly enough. Just one thing - the water was tepid so no nice bath or shower.

Super hotel ; very large rooms. Price/quality fantastic. Restaurant not so cheap , but normal for such hotel. Food very good. I personnally had 1 remark (to improve) : no wifi in rooms (only in the library , unfortunatelly not even in bar before the restaurant)

Within an easy drive of York, Hazlewood Castle is in beautiful and peaceful countryside - all I could hear in the courtyard was birdsong and the gentle tinkling of the fountain. The staff are unfailingly cheerful, professional and helpful and, to be able to stay in such lovely surroundings for such a reasonable price, is a rare treat indeed. I was surprised that the dinner I had was slightly different from what was described in the menu but it was delicious and certainly not worth complaining about. There are too many other things to commend this hotel to be moaning about something as minor as this.

I didn't like the mould around the bath but would not want this to put anyone else staying at the hotel as everything else was excellent. It is just something that I personally find offputting and feel that the hotel need to know in order to put this right.

The staff were very friendly, professional and efficient. We unfortunately did not enjoy our stay at the Hazlewood Hotel and as such made an official complaint before we left. The room was unclean, the bed was broken and the overall stay did not provide value for money.

Beautiful rooms and a lovely restored castle. Idealic setting, quiet, relaxing and very peaceful. Wonderful food too! Toilet handel had to be pumped at least six times before the toilet would fully flush. Shower was rather pathetic. It was a thin drizzle at best. Moreover, the water temperature wouldn't adjust. There was only one temperature and that was scalding. We used the tub which was fine. Everything else, rooms, amenities, surroundings, the rest of the castle, the staff, the food etc. was fantastic!!

The location of the hotel, the setting, the castle itself was stunning. Staff were helpful and courteous. The suite was comfortable and although one night it was cool, a call to reception soon rectified this. It is highly likely we will stay there again There wasn`t anything that we didn`t like during our stay, although the sofa in our room was a bit lumpy!!
