On arrive we we're meet by Paul who was fantastic and made us feel very welcome.
Nearly all the staff were not very polite,it was a shame that there was not any coffee making facilities in the room.
The location was excellent.
Would have liked coffee and tea making facilities in the room. It was available in the bar but in the morning you had to go out of your room to get a drink.
The room was small but quirky with a lovely view of river. Rooms named after Oxford Alumni and a bit of their history. We stayed in the Lewis Carroll room. Only a short walk into the centre of Oxford. Full English was lovely.
You expect to do pay for the river side location but this was quite expensive. Breakfast staff were rather disorganised, had to remind them about what we had ordered.
In a great location, individual quirky rooms. Good choice at breakfast.
No kettle etc in a superior room! No bath either (just shower cubicle). Socket for hairdryer not convenient for dresser / mirror. wifi wanted personal details.
The rooms were lively and comfy. The location is great. And hotel has lovely setting well worth the money
The location was excellent The staff were great and particularly Ben we thought was very very good When we arrived we thought O No what have we done. However it was a tradition no frills pub with great themed rooms We were in room 3 and it was very nice and comfortable Wi if was free and while there was no tea and coffee in the room they were more than happy to makes us 1 at the bar area for free The food was plenty full and breakfast was great
We enjoyed everything nothing to complain about
The location, lovely walks by the River and through the Meadows, a great base to see Oxford. The breakfast was good.
I felt that although the pub was picturesque it was very expensive for what you got.
Staff very freindly lovelly room overlooking the river
Thought the rates were a bit excessive
could not fault
The bed was very comfortable We had a view of the river
No tea and coffee in the room
Decor, location, setting on the river, breakfast
Checking in waiting in line with pub goers
Staff were attentive friendly and helpful. Food was good. Our room was lovely, bed very comfortable. Despite minor niggles below which i consider helpful hints not moans, i would stay again.
No tea facilities in room. Our room had exceptionally sqeaky floor, fine for us but dont know about room underneath, having said that what do you expect from an old building. Grout on bathroom needs touching up.
Excellent location + beautiful views
Hot days and no AC
River view room. Comfortable bed. Very friendly staff
Wifi didn't work particularly well. Not a major issue though.
Lovely location right next to the river. Food was good both for dinner and breakfast.
Excellent Location and staff. Easy access to the town and also the river. The breakfasts were very nice and cooked to order.
Bedrooms are quite dark, better lighting is needed.
Beautiful room with a view over the riverbank! Staff excellent and friendly. Will book this hotel next time!
Everything. Beautiful hotel, nice staff, comfortable bed.
Lovely location by the river and walking distance to centre of Oxford
Nice room decoration a little tired in places and as no double glazing quite a lot of noise from outside guests and the road
View from window. Location is perfect. Car parking is good Everywhere is in walking distance. Evening meal-very good, with a very attentive waitress. She did not know we were residents either. Cooked food including breakfast was good. Enjoyed jazz band on Friday night.
Superior room very cramped. Not easy to get ready- very little bedroom space. Only one easy chair. Windows would not open-and weather was very warm. Room temperature was too hot at night and I slept poorly. Bed and pillows like rock. Breakfast service was appalling. Had to set out own table. No bowls. Choice of fruit -poor. Waited a long time for service. Given milk in a glass, not a milk jug. Given sauce bottle which was empty and cap was so dirty it would not screw closed. Staff not interested in good service. Bar toilets were disgusting (ladies)
The rooms have all had makeovers and are lovely. Nice bathrooms good showers and very comfortable beds and pillows.
Being very warm weather, we had to have the windows of our room open and so we did get a lot of little bugs and mosies which could be overcome easily with some fly screens on the windows. Everything else was great.
The location, views and friendly staff made this an excellent weekend. Would recommend to family and friends.
The room was clean Staff friendly when you could get their attention.
Booked a twin room which turned out to be a double bed with a camp type bed along one wall. Not what you expect when room advertised as a twin room. Service incredibly slow from checking in, attempting to order drinks at the bar (which we gave up and went elsewhere) to breakfast. If you like efficient service then this isn't the hotel for you.
atmosphere, room/ beds very comfortable
need fans in the top rooms as v hot weather- didn't arrive , lock on door faulty. despite all this it was a good place to stay
Location, very friendly staff, free tea service, very nice breakfast service
Small rooms, hot in summertime
