Just across from the Queen's College playing fields and a 10-minute walk from the center of Oxford, the Falcon B&B is housed in 2 late-Victorian town houses and offers views of the college boathouses....

Fantastic friendly staff Comfortable room with great view Good wifi
Outdoor patio/restaurant was excellent. Location great!
Room was small and dark!
The location was convenient for the centre of Oxford, which was about a 10 minute walk, the staff were friendly enough and the rooms were clean.
We stayed in what was supposed to be a superior room, but we were not sure why it was rated as this, as there was no tea or coffee making facilities, the bathroom was basic, the curtains did not close well and it was too warm to sleep at night. Also there is no reception area, so you have to wait at the bar to speak to the staff or to check in or out.
Cosy hotel with very good food.bedrooms were very comfortable.the staff were polite and attentive, especially the young breakfast waiter from plymouth! Who went out of his way to help us.very good location close to the train station and city centre.
The only negative point was on the night we arrived it took a while to get a table to eat as the bar was full of students and it was very noisy.
Excellent location. Lovely food. Nice view. Receptionist Paul had excellent customer service skills. Beautiful rooms - nice decor. Very nice atmosphere. We will definitely be visiting again.
No soap in the bar toilet or guest room bathroom. Bar toilet very untidy at night. Ran out of beans and jam at breakfast. Poor organisation and slow service at breakfast.
quaint hotel lots of character beautiful position very friendly staff
No parking Had to park at park and ride 20 minutes walk away First time I have paid £130 for one night and not been able to park on site or at least on immediate vicinity
I booked to stay here last weekend for my boyfriends birthday as it was close to the O2 academy and we had tickets for Sunday night. The hotel has lots of character, a nice atmosphere and is in a good location. The staff were all very friendly and helpful.
I was made really welcome from the moment I checked in, the staff were all courtious and very helpful, the room was first class it had a very unique style that was really pleasant to be in and I had ample space, as a fullers pub the ale was great as was the food.
there was not sufficient spaces to park even though I managed to book in advance it was very tight.
This worked out brilliantly, even though we were horrendously late to check in after drive from Scotland Eggs Royale for breakfast (included) were unforgettable Location couldn't be better, in the unlikely event of kids getting to Ox, we would become regulars :)
Maybe a tad noisy as it's v old building so not fantastically soundproofed, but that's v minor quibble
It's location and friendly atmosphere. On a nice day being able to sit outside next to the river.
Location, style and character (rooms named after distinguished Oxford alumni - I was in the 'Lewis Carroll'), quality of breakfast (excellent), very good and helpful staff.
A bit pricy and can be noisy depending on traffic.
The shower head required replacing.
The cosy bed and comfortable pillows. Central location but quiet room overlooking the river.Staff were very accomodating and helpful.
Quite expensive for essentially a bedroom in a pub. No tea tray though room service for tea or coffee was included free of charge. Limited car spaces so be sure to ring in advance to book your car parking space.
Food was good and pub had great atmosphere Well located
Room was very hot and almost impossible to sleep in - and this was in September, so I cannot imagine how bad it would be in the Summer massive issues returning my deposit back to me. I called multiple times and was promised call backs, but this did not happen. When I was finally told it would be fixed ... It wasn'T. In the end I had to call my bank and it took almost two weeks to get my money back. I know these things do happen sometimes, but I was less than impressed with how the staff at Head of the River handles the situation.
Location was good, staff were friendly and helpful. Cooked part of breakfast was nice. Free coffee from bar was very nice.
Room was nothing special for £200.00 Got very hot during the night no tea & coffee making in room. No light by dressing table and light by long mirror not working. Didn't bother saying anything as we were only there one night' Choice of breakfast cereals was limited.
The staff were generally excellent and helpful (Paul deserves a special mention). Our room had real character (Room 1/T.S. Eliot, overlooking the terrace and the Isis), a very comfortable bed and a jacuzzi bath. Breakfast was very good, including eggs benedict, florentine and royal. The HoR has a great location, right next to the Isis and Christchurch Meadows and just over a five-minute walk into town.
It took a while for anyone to notice us at breakfast on after the first of our two nights. The flip side of character is some creaky floorboards and beams over the shower that are lethal for anyone over 6 feet tall! That said, I wouldn't want them to change it.
very obliging and friendly
staff a bit slow at breakfast not enough staff to cater for visitors
young and friendly staff
tired decor, understaffed, poor breakfast.
Excellent rooms, with plenty of space. Nice decor. Great view of the river and outdoor seating in the pub was lovely
Staff (not all) - seemed like there was not enough at busy times. Parking was tricky. Free beer in room yet no way to open it. Lots of mould in the bathroom.
Staffs are so friendly, nice and helpful, I was wondering around whether we could find a coach or train to Cambridge before leaving at the next day early morning, and that was about 22 at night, the girl was so nice she answered all my questions and even helped to check the information online by her till computer, wonderful! plus, the food and beer here are great, we definitely will come back!
The only thing that we don't like is no slippers in the room.
Amazing and special rooms and quite at night, great size and clean. Super bed (not too soft and not too hard). Great food, perfect location and parking. Helpful staff with room ready before time and great food - Chilli & Corriander Crab Rissoto: OMG!!!! fantastic. Loved the stay!
Dinning room was very very nosiy. Would of loved them to have a family room as we needed two rooms (traveling as a family of four)
Stunning location, right on the river and a short walk into Oxford centre and the colleges. Tasty pub grub for dinner. Helpful staff. Clean, well furbished bedroom.
Service at check in and breakfast was slow. The breakfast buffet table was very basic and unappealing - more choice in cereals, fruit etc would be a real improvement.
Walking distance for visiting colleges. Good parking facilities. Very comfortable rooms
Lack of tea and coffee facilities in room. Breakfast service was slow.
Really lovely clean room with great location. Free parking as long as you book in advance. Lovely stay thank you!
The pigeons! We are lunch outside and were put off by the over friendly and hungry pigeons.
