Score from 55 reviews Superb
Food was very nice.
No drinkable running water in any of the rooms...Unacceptable! Walls are "paper thin"...could not sleep because of the noise inside the facility and especially from the guess parking their cars at 12:15 am...1:25 am...and the last one at 2:45 am...followed by guesses leaving starting at 5:45 am. A horrible night! The Lodge is surrounded by lovely open countryside...it looks like a perfect place to stay overnight, but it Is NOT! We had reservations for two nights, but could hardly make it through one.
Very helpful and pleasant staff. Beautiful surroundings. Good prices.
Quit, comfortable, clean. Good food at the restaurant. Nice view from the restaurant. Lots to see close by and a supermarket at the town of Headcorn 1 and a half miles away.
Quiet location Comfortable beds
Room was a little small for two people No breakfast included
Bed too soft
The room was like a greenhouse and extremely claustrophobic. Annexe was completely separate from the main building so we felt isolated. Reception was within the dining area, which felt rather strange when checking in/out.
Pleasant room, relaxed atmosphere, good location, friendly staff and good breakfasts.
Requested fan for bedroom which was extremely hot during our stay but none available. Having to walk past sceptic tank on way to breakfast. The hot weather presumably exagerated the smell.
Long list to much to bother mentioning
View from main terrace outside modern club house
The fact that the 12 basic rooms we're far away from the main building. Bit unnerving to stay on the outer edge of the grounds with only a phone in hall as means of communication. The water in the bedrooms was not drinking water!! No air con + fan that was very noisy
Staff friendly and helpful. Good value. Main door bit temperamental but managed to gain access each time so didn't seek help. Close to lots of lovely places and eateries so were pleased we were room only.
Bathroom clean but smelt bit foisty.
Location Bar & Food Value for Money Breakfast Comfort
Used by workmen so lots of vans & bigger vehicles in the car park.
It was very peaceful
the accomadation was away from the main complex
Location and food.
Thin walls in room.
Always a warm greeting from helpful staff. Fantastic room with large bath. I use the Lodge regularly whenever I can during working stays in Kent.
The TV is mounted too high in the wardrobe top. The angle causes loss of brightness and has to be viewed from the back of the room. It should be lowered to a wall mounting.
Easy access to business in Headcorn, and if you are a golfer this is for you!
Room a little dark and uninteresting, but it is good value and ideal for overnight stays for golfers...
The food was very good and the staff extremely helpful even to the point of writing directions for us.
When I got lost one of the staff called Sally was brilliant she arranged for a taxi to pick me up and when I arranged was very welcoming.
Wi-fi signal was terrible
We were not golfers but the view from the restaurant was lovely. The food was good. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. Probably a very good venue for golfing. Fairways looked immaculate
We thought when booking that the hotel rooms were attached to the club house rather than a long walk away. The original room two of us were given was on the ground and we looked out on a grass bank. So no view at all. However, we were moved without any hesitation. The first morning our friends were woken with a lawn mower at 6.15 am outside their room. The car park was outside our room and we were woken early each morning by cars and people coming and going. The second morning we were woken at about 6am by vehicle(s) manouvering out of a fenced off area next to the car park.Sound travelled. We probably would not have minded if we had been golfers getting up early to tee off, but we were on a leisurely break so it was very annoying. There was no mains water in the room and you had to fill up a jug from a water machine on the ground floor which did not appear to have been (nozzles) sterilised in a very long time. The limescale was black.
Staff and food were excellent here.
The water in the ensuite was labeled undrinkable. I had to take a very small pitcher down a hallway and through two heavy doors to fill it from a water machine and then carry it back to my room for drinking and brushing my teeth. Also, the WiFi was miserable to use. It took me two and a half hours to get on line from my room, because the codes I was given were incorrect, and the staff person who could fix it wasn't on the premises. There was a different code for the housing building than for the restaurant, so I had to keep changing back and forth. Also, using a cell phone there was impossible. The place is so far out in the countryside that there is no coverage. And the land line they kindly let me use in the office for a few moments was filthy.
Bed was not very comfortable Breakfast only from 7:00 am.
Cosy rooms. Friendly people. Greater location near Headcorn town. Calming and relaxing.
Wifi poor. Plugs situated wrong place in rooms. Needed top sheet as was too warm for quilts.
Excellent location, as shown on the website.
Bar closed at 11.00pm. First breakfast, full English, was floating in oil, and the "sautee potatoes" were nothing more than plain crisps. I complained to a manager, but other than 'sorry' nothing more was done. Next day was better! Rooms cramped,no better than Travelodge! Guests from a wedding party made sure we had no sleep until after 2.30am !!
The room wasn't big but cosy, wi-fi worked perfectly well, the room looked clean.
Breakfasts comfortable beds helpful & friendly staff pleasant surroundings
weak wi-fi The accommodation being so far from the main building.
As a golfer, this is a perfect location for me-stayed here before anat food and took my clubs this time and played the course (cheap deal) - great bar and restaurant with brilliant views in the clubhouse and from the accomodation
