Staff were marvellous. Everyone seemed genuinely interested in us and were friendly and helpful. Gardens are magnificent and we'd wonderful weather so we could enjoy it even more. Ate both evenings in restaurant and food was fabulous!
Bedrooms badly need updating. Restricted access to pool which was a bit of a problem for my son.
A member of staff got an OS map for us that we needed so that we did not have to travel to a nearby town to get one.
The soap dish over the bath was so high you could not reach it while sitting in the bath. A lift would help to reach the. Top floor.
fabulous setting, beautiful grounds and main building where we stayed. room was fab, everything we could have wanted. the staff were professional and friendly. breakfast was excellent, could not fault our stay, highly recommend
there was only one problem, finding the location, more signage needed
Lovely old property in a beautiful setting with facilities for all tastes! Good food and lovely room.
We had a very enjoyable long weekend. Lovely room. Beautiful gardens with benches strategically placed. Restaurant highly recommended. Staff very attentive and friendly. We will be back when my husband rides the Pennine Etape next year while I will again be relaxing in the lovely Spa!
Quiet location lovely old property retaining it's own charm Attentive polite staff clean room and the bathroom in no 10 'Peach' was spacious, well appointed and extremely practical
no fridge in the room. no safe. only one opening window
Staff great. Arrived late due to appalling traffic but the kitchen staff had stayed on beyond closure of evening service to ensure we could get some cooked food. Great breakfast and comfortable room, very quiet. All in all first class. A very good hotel indeed.
The staff members were exceptionally friendly and efficient. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening meal which was delicious. We would definitely make a return booking should we be in the area again.
Staff extremely friendly and helpful especially when our car broke down Bedrooms in main house wonderful (especially the four poster beds)and so in keeping with rest of property Food was of extremely high quality We will definitely return
Brilliant hotel, lots of luxury but with no stuffiness. Great hospitality in the north east.
EXCELLENT STAFF, VERY PROFESSIONAL, VERY WELL RAN HOTEL.
The spa was very relaxing
We stayed at headlam hall on Saturday 10 th May, myself and my partner wanted a night away from children in a peaceful location. We we're kept awake by crying babies in next room and also on numerous occasions bottles getting emptied in eariy hours of the night , I did complain about this but didn't really get much of a response. I left feeling more tired than I do at home.
The hotel staff at reception told us we could not use the spa facilities after checking out at 11, we had spent £150 on room an £111 on the bar, I'm sure this wouldn't have been a problem. Anyway we went down to the spa and they let us in no problem!
We liked everything about the place. The evening meals were perfect. We didn't fault anything. Also the beautiful gardens. Very romantic and relaxing place.
We liked everything
Noisy room over kitchen
The Spa was excellent
The mattress was most uncomfortable and desperately needs replacement.
Staff were friendly and helpful. Food was good. Comfortable bedroom with good facilities except for the need for safety handles on the bath. We were upgraded at no extra expense which was a pleasant surprise.
There is a need for the hotel to light both sides of the entrance to make it clear.
Spa facilities Staff friendliness Location
Shower was poor
