Spotless Hotel great food quiet location and the staff were very freindly and helpful.

Headlam Hall hotel has everything you could wish for and more, what beautiful facilities. From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome. The staff were so friendly. The food was devine. Everywhere was clean and comfortable. We can not wait to go back.

Arrived on a cold day to a very cold room and an even colder bathroom. No radiator on in bedroom and window wouldn't shut and radiator wanted bleeding in bathroom Dining room also cold had to go to room for jacket

The staff at Headlam Hall could not have been better, they were Friendly, Helpful, Courteous and were a large part of the reason this is an excellent place to stay. The surroundings are plush and luxurious, and the pianist in the lounge on the Saturday was delightful and created a beautiful relaxing atmosphere. We ate in the restaurant on the Friday Night and the food again was excellent.

A nice relaxing hotel with very pleasant staff. Clean and comfortable rooms. Good food and a relaxing atmosphere in the restaurant and bar.

After several very busy weeks it weas quiet and peaceful, and the staff friendly without being overly familiar. The food was good, and the surroundings most comfortable.

Little things, like cobwebs on lightfittings, and extraordinarily noisy shower, which actually stopped working!

What a lovely place to stay at. Staff were so friendly and helpful. They even let us have a later check out as we had a funeral to attend. We were in a Mews room which is not in the main house but we liked this and it was very comfortable. There was a varied breakfast menu and we thoroughly enjoyed our choice of a freshly cooked breakfast. Would love to come back again for a longer stay and make use of the facilities on offer.

very relaxing stay with 3 generations, query limited times for uner 16s in swimming pool, but we were not affected by this. Thoughrly enjoyed our stay.

The staff without doubt are a huge asset to the hotel, extremely friendly, courteous and helpful without being too much. The building is magnificent, the bedroom was very comfortable and clean. The food was excellent , tasty , beautifully presented and reasonably priced. The Spa facilities were luxurious and you felt peaceful and calm just walking in. It was good to find such details as maps of local walks etc available. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay

Headlam Hall Hotel was very very nice, perfect for a birthday or celebration. I like the mix of old (country house) and modern (spa).

The staff were excellent, especially on reception with advice about places to visit in the area. The food was very good, and the chef was willing to tweak the set menu requirements in case of dietary needs. Although, I have reservations about starters on "boards" , what is wrong with plates ! The spa and pool were excellent, and the gardens inviting. There is a nine hole golf course which we did not use, but it looked challenging. Overall thoroughly recommend the hotel.

We were allocated a room on the top floor, and whilst the facility does not have a lift, there were no porters on arrival to carry luggage etc upstairs. If you are slightly elderly or infirm then I would recommend stating a requirement for a ground floor or first floor bedroom.

Peace and quite

Clearly a family owned hotel with excellent friendly staff. The service was spot on - for instance our guns were in safe hands and handled properly. The dinner was delicious and to be honest far better than I was expecting as it didn't look like a "foodie place"! The maintenance of the grounds and the standard of the whole place was just what we were looking for.

One of our favourite hotels. We were returning guests and it was great to be back. We stopped visiting a few years ago as there always seemed to be weddings and the guests spoilt the hotel for others; now the wedding venue is separate so although 3 or 4 weddings took place during our stay they didn't bother us at all.

Very nice staff, beautiful large room with a four poster, comfortable bed. The food was good and the grounds were lovely. This would be a nice place for a wedding. We will definitely go back.

The room was superb as was the food and gardens. Ambience was very relaxed.

The greeting at reception was brusque. We arrived a little before check in and were told that we could not use the Spa before 2.30 not could we access our room until then.

We have stayed in many hotels around the world and can honestly say that this one is amongst the best. The friendliness and politeness of ALL the staff was outstanding and the customer service second to none. The grounds were fantastic and as 'new' gardeners it was lovely to look around the veg patch to compare our crops. Thank you for making our stay so memorable

Staff were really friendly, room was very comfortable and food was excellent.

The food was fabulous and the atmosphere was nice and relaxing too.

Bed was too soft and quite short in length.
