Outside jaccuzi was what we enjoyed best and u can be served Prosecco in there :-). Nice grounds and if u play golf then ideal venue. Old world charm
Bit remote, our bedroom was a bit tired and cold. Didn't like the separate dining areas.
The evening meal was excellent; the ambience of the hotel

Pleasant and helpful staff
We stopped here for our 1st wedding anniversary . Food is excellent and to a very high standard , staff are very friendly , pool ,sauna steam room are very good also a outdoor hot tub which we didnt expect . Would stop again
Nothing loved every minute
The hotel was very welcoming. Lovely fires made it feel very cosy. The staff were very good. I had a nice sized room with a pleasant view. It was quiet and the bed comfortable. The restaurant food was very good although a bit pricey. The hot tub outside was a bonus which I really enjoyed and generally the spa was very good.
The main problem was the hot water from the taps. The electric shower was fine and this gave hot water but I couldn't have a bath as the water from the taps was only luke warm. It also took a very long time for my room to be cleaned after the first night.
Headlam hall is a beautiful old building. The furnishings are luxurious and interesting. The evening dinner was fine dining. Staff were helpful, attentive and friendly. A lovely stay. Beautiful grounds.
The bedroom was quite hot in the night. We liked the old historical features so didn't really appreciate the modern dining room.
Friendly helpful staff especially the day porter
I did not find the bowl basin very convenient as there was not enough space to put articles like contact lens case lotions etc.
Everything, we had a brilliant couple of days. The staff are lovely and the spa is amazing.
comfortable country house hotel in a lovely rural location with friendly helpful staff
Booking by telephone could be improved
Fantastic hotel, beautiful building great food and drink, will definitely come again
Very attentive staff fantastic building and grounds
Nothing not to not like
Excellent food. Swimming pool was lovely and never too crowded. Lovely gardens and walks.
A lot of stairs to our room but staff were helpful and carried our cases.
Great attention to detail. I phoned and asked them if they had soya milk. They don't keep it as standard but were happy to get some for my arrival. The staff were very happy to get me my milk everytime we had a hot drink. Nothing was too difficult. The facilities were fantastic - we swam in the pool, tried the outdoor hydrotheraphy pool, sauna and steam room. All were immaculate and the staff very helpful. The bedroom was tastefully decorated and the bed very comfortable. It was great to stay in a warm hotel that wasn't overpowering with its heat. We were hot enough without thinking we were roasting. Overall, a wonderful experience and I strongly recommend it to everyone!
There was nothing to dislike!!
Hotel and grounds are beautiful.
Ambience, gardens and feeling a bit special b
Minor irritation was the water pressure in the shower was poor.
Friendliness and promptness of staff.
Room is ordinary.
We stayed as part of a wedding party, and everything went perfectly to plan. The staff could'nt have done more for us. Perfect place for a wedding, the rooms, the grounds, the staff, the whole venue was everything we wanted.
Food,staff,gardens,garder ner,prices,dinner was exceptional,mike
No aircon,one of hottest days
wi fi very poor connection
Staff were marvellous. Everyone seemed genuinely interested in us and were friendly and helpful. Gardens are magnificent and we'd wonderful weather so we could enjoy it even more. Ate both evenings in restaurant and food was fabulous!
Bedrooms badly need updating. Restricted access to pool which was a bit of a problem for my son.
A member of staff got an OS map for us that we needed so that we did not have to travel to a nearby town to get one.
The soap dish over the bath was so high you could not reach it while sitting in the bath. A lift would help to reach the. Top floor.
fabulous setting, beautiful grounds and main building where we stayed. room was fab, everything we could have wanted. the staff were professional and friendly. breakfast was excellent, could not fault our stay, highly recommend
there was only one problem, finding the location, more signage needed
