This inn is set in the heart of Thunderbridge, a small hamlet 4 miles south of Huddersfield. It offers free Wi-Fi and free parking on site, and a full English breakfast is provided every morning.
Score from 247 reviews Wonderful
Waterfront Lodge Hotel has designer bedrooms at great rates. It is well-on the banks of the Calder and Hebble canal, close to public transportation and major highway services.
Score from 358 reviews Good
Good breakfast, plenty of choice. WiFi readily available in bedrooms. Comfortable bed. Plenty of parking.
Bedrooms in older part of hotel have tired decor and bedding needs replacing. Room allocated quite tight for space. Socket for hairdryer not near mirror. No real lounge area, bar area used as thoroughfare.
Some of the best meals I've ever had.
The homeliness and friendly staff. The breakfast was excellent and the location ideal for our stay.
Quality of the food was good Friendly staff Smoked haddock and poached egg for breakfast
Wi-Fi didn't work in my room Uneven bathroom floor dangerous Food price expensive - no basics Even though it was a single the room was very small.
Clean rooms. Friendly welcoming staff. Excellent food in the restaurant. Free parking and free wifi.
Nothing at all.
PRice/ Service perfect, large bedroom
We used to live just around the corner from this hotel but never visited. If we had known how pleasant it was and how good the food was we would have been regulars. Room was very comfortable with the usual tea, coffee, biscuit facilities, also bottled water was supplied. The bed was most comfortable as were the pillows. Totally spotless throughout the bedroom and bathroom. The breakfast was excellent, the full 'Yorkshire' was far to much for me to eat as a lady but I am sure the gentlemen could all eat theirs. Fabulous quality bacon, sausage and black pudding. Cereals, juices fruit etc were also on offer as were teas and coffee. On the whole a lovely stay, the staff were very pleasant and accommodating and we would definitely go back again, even to use the excellent restaurant . I have arthritis I asked to be put on a ground floor room and they changed us straight away. Well done Heald's Hall you made for a very pleasant weekends stay.
The food was outstanding!
The breakfast was perfect, hot and perfectly cooked. The staff were overly helpful and friendly and nothing was too much trouble.
The furniture in the bedrooms was a little dated but the bathrooms were very modern and excellent shower
Meals prices high
Lovely breakfast Warm room Free bottles of water
Room looked tired, dated and on the small side. Extremely noisy water / heating pipes in the morning - didn't need a wake up call !!
Food, was good as was the breakfast
Room was small
Everything was good nothing was bad From the reception staff to the cleanliness of the place to the excellent breakfast
Everything was ok will deffinitly stay again
The hotel has a friendly and relaxed atmosphere, clean and comfortable rooms, good food and above all excellent staff. I had a problem with my car and everyone was so helpful and kind, I would definitely recommend Healds Hall.
Very friendly staff at a very busy time if year.
Lovely hotel grounds. Comfortable room, ample parking. Excellent evening meal and breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff.
Situated in built up locality.
Excellent menu served by great staff. Initial welcome not great- one receptionist lets the fantastic team down and needs addressing as if we'd only stayed one night that would have been a poor lasting impression. I think the hotel are aware done rooms need new heaters but a second keytag to keep electricity on soon solved that.
Size and cleanliness of the room
Wonderfully helpful staff!
The step up to where the toilet was situated, stubbed my toes countless times!
A good 3star hotel. Room was clean, warm and comfortable. Breakfast was locally sourced, tasty and plentiful.
We had a back room so had no wifi signal.
Breakfast was excellent, price was v reasonable, room clean and cosy
water pressure issue with the shower in the morning, probably due to the room being at the top of the building, forgot to mention it on my way out, would have been a bigger annoyance if I had been staying longer than 1 night.
Friendly staff, good quality hotel and good price. What more do you need :-)
the building, a converted wool baron's manor house (listed building) Staff Location Breakfast was really good.
Only one plug socket in the room so had to unplug TV to plug in the iron !! Room lighting a little dim.
The food was excellent. Both at dinner and the following morning at breakfast. Quality ingredients, well and freshly cooked with flair, enjoyed by our whole party. Staff were enthusiastic, friendly and accommodating of our various requests. Bedroom and public areas were spotlessly clean. The real Xmas trees added to the festive feel. Excellent value for money.
Minor gripes only - slight smell of food in the bar area. The shower could have been more powerful.
Very friendly accommodating staff, lovely meal with extensive menu, room was very clean and cosy. I would recommend this hotel to others
