Excellent food with imaginative menus. Friendly, helpful staff. A hotel with character and with comfortable rooms that are nicely decorated. Good location. Good value.

It was all good.

The high points are: food, staff, ambience, comfort. The reason for visiting is business but the hotel is an ideal base for visiting Leeds, Bradford and surrounding town/country attractions eg Saltaire either by car or bus (stops close by).

Good quick check in friendly reception, the room was fine bed was comfortable.We had a nice meal at the hotel there was plenty of choice and you didn't have to wait ages .

The only thing I didn't like was the fact that the headboard on the bed rattled every time you turned over I ended up putting a towel down back of it and it seemed to cure the noise!

I liked the atmosphere, the staff and the menu.

I stayed in room 112 and found that the bathroom door was very grubby and needed painting.

The location was perfect and the room was lovely albeit a bit cold but we were offered a heater until the heating came to an acceptable level. I particularly liked the mini foldaway iron/ironing board.

When I booked I was told there would be no food available - I assumed that as it was December 27th they may still be fully booked with Christmas meals. We did not realise that the kitchens and the bar would be closed. I think we should have been offered a discount!! £95 was very expensive when there was not even a bar open!

The whole experience was most satisfying. Easy going but exceptionally well run the reception and restaurant staff were helpfull, keen and very professional. The room was just right and the bed was very comfortable... (They often get the bed wrong)... Restaurant menu and food quality were excellent value, the option of having a starter portion of the main courses was different but well received. The night porter even made me tea and toast when I had to leave at 6.00am. Would definitly stay again

Staff were polite, friendly, and very helpful. Food was excellent and room was spacious.

Bed was a bit small (just a regular double) and the mattress felt old and unsupportive. Staff took their cigarette breaks by the hotel's side entrance, which was right under our window.

Bed was very uncormfortable, the room was far to warm to sleep and the breakfast was horrid

Hotel is in good location and looks very impressive from the outside.

Bedroom was dusty and tired, furniture needs updating. Shower system pathetic, either have water or no water depending if other guests using their showers at same time. Breakfast room & lobby room dark & oppressive need to get rid of draped curtain's and let some light in.

The Wi-Fi was not working, it was too late to work after 9.0pm whn it was repaired. I chose this hotel to use this for my work, it did not help.

The food in the restaurant was outstanding. Staff friendly

A little dated in decor throughout the hotel and perhaps a facelift to bring it up-to date and in keeping with the history of the place.and attention to detail in rooms needs looking at, crooked signs, crooked holders. There is a wonderful history to the hotel and this is such a bonus. The breakfast was lovely, hot and well presented. Bar staff and reception staff friendly

Rooms a little tired & was put in a twin room instead of a double, not a big issue & not cause for complaint.
