Great breakfast Helpful staff Good location for our purpose, close to my relatives.
Huge comfortable bed, excellent strong shower.
No where to hang up clothes apart from on the back of the toilet door, overhanging the toilet. No hairdryer in room. No iron & board in room. Wifi signal very poor in Room 6. I appreciate it is undergoing refurbishment but the newly installed bathroom still had a work to be done!(ungrouted stones by sink, plastic film half off the bath unit) Generally the hotel was a bit tatty.
Friendly staff Good service I requested a room with easy access to the outside I got it
Friendly small hotel with excellent evening evening meals.
Bedrooms are a tad small, but offset by two large public lounges.
Staff were very friendly and welcoming
Less than 24 hours I had 2 rooms. 1st room full of spiders and webs. Not cleaned for a very long time. 6 spiders just in bathroom!!! Radiators didn't work and claimed due to them being new? They weren't new at all! I left hotel after just 1 nights stay.
Bedroom just refurbished, very helpful staff
Dinner menu could be more extensive
Lovely comfortable bed, linen and room, Breakfast nice, prompt service. Friendly staff. Be great if you are part of the wedding party etc and go to bed after the party finishes. Great choice of tunes by the DJ :)
Our Bedroom above function room. Very loud music from party below till midnight. Not conducive to an early nights sleep after a long drive. Even my usual super effective earplugs were of limited use.
lovely hotel.. we only stopped for one night .. bedroom and bathroom excellent as the room had just been renovated...breakfast very nice plenty of coffee and toast, lovely English breakfast ..would stay again
no complaint about any thing
staff very friendly felt like you were at a frinds home. Rooms beautiful, clena well laid out and nice little touches. really comfy beds
breakfast was good but felt a little on the cheapside
Warm welcome, shown to room, V.good standard of decor, comfy, clean, cosy. Tv, tea/coffee, kettle, hairdryer, lovely ensuite bathroom and shower. Free parking. What more could you want?
The WiFi was disgraceful - not a problem as I used my 3g connection via hotspot, but... If I had not have had that option I would not have been happy. Their SSID simply would not show on network searches across my iPhone, iPad, Macbook Pro or PS Vita, 9 times out of 10. On that tenth discovery the password provided would not connect as I was met with the message 'a WPS2 key is required'. Either way the lack of signal was awful. I asked the night staff (same girl) 3 times about the WiFi and was met with statements of 'it must be your settings because my phone is working on it' she clearly was frustrated by my asking and simply wanted me to go away. I found it rather offensive that she would tell me all FOUR (4) of my wireless devices were faulty or that I should 'check their settings' as if the issue was my fault. I work in IT by the way, and this was clearly a signal strength / security (as in incorrect password) issue. Her lack of compassion or willingness to do much about this was a turn off and blemish on what was otherwise a pleasant stay. As I say, luckily I had the option and enough signal to use my iPhone's 3G connection to power the Internet on iPad and Macbook. If you're on business though, make sure you have a plan B!
Good breakfast and friendly staff but rooms right at the top of the house which was a bit of a slog! Very helpful staff and internet should improve once refurb complete
Duvet too heavy for time of year thus disturbed sleep
all of it
only there one night
Newly refurbished room, very comfortable bed and a good breakfast!
Very lovely lady who runs the place, room was comfortable just what we needed for an overnight stay when attending a party in the area. Breakfast was by far the best full english I have ever tasted, excellent quality all round great weekend
Helpfu and friendly staff.
Everything was just ok. Clean and easy to find.
Manager. Rude, rude, rude! The whole party was made to feel that we were causing too much stress. Being told there were too many of us to serve at bar (it was a wedding) that they might not provide us breakfast and that it was up to us to ask for a clean table at breakfast. This along with very dated annex rooms, freezing rooms, no hot water from shower and a lack of staff (though lady serving breakfast was lovely) made it a very unpleasant stay.
Cleanliness, Good bathroom facilities, Friendly staff, Wi Fi, Quiet room despite wedding at the hotel that night.
Bed not good for my husband's back but ok for me. Fried bread too oily.
Inexpensive, friendly, clean
No storage in bedroom, bland decor ( all white)
The location was very convenient for me to meet up with long lost relatives living in the locality. The staff were polite and curtious Good ample parking
Receptionist escorted us from our car with umbrella, as it was raining extremely heavily, and was friendly helpful and courteous throughout. Nothing too much trouble. Appreciated being allocated a quiet room.
The room. Tired. Uncomfortable. Needs updating. Bathroom dangerous. Shower sprayed on fluorescent light. Towel radiator location would burn head in bath. Workmen banging at 9am Sunday morning. Wifi didn't work. Fixtures were out of date. 1980's telephone and alarm clock. Don't bother.
Polite and helpful staff, excellent food. Great location for my work
Room was clean and comfortable. Staff friendly and helpful. Evening meal was excellent value for money, with good sized portions and good choice.
helpful staff, good breakfast
Nice room, breakfast and staff - enjoyed my stay and will be back next time I'm in the area.
Beer was a bit pricey in the bar, some improvements going on around the place but didn't effect my stay in any way, but if you are close to the rooms that are being worked on it might, just a heads-up more than anything.
