Heath Cottage Hotel & Restaurant  

It was close enough to town to walk or get a taxi for a few pounds. The room facilities included an ironing board and iron and biscuits were included on the tea tray.

The bed was hard but thats just personal preference

Have used Heath Cottage in the past for family functions and because of this it has a nostalgic appeal. I also knew that the local Rotary branch use Heath Cottage and that the endorsement by them usually means excellent value and facilities. The hotel is comfortable and provides most of what is required at a reasonable rate. Good selection of whiskies in the bar.

Lack of Wi-Fi in room was disappointing but public areas did have Wi-Fi available.

Staff very helpful and welcoming.

Room very noisy due to a function below, however, music did stop at midnight.

Stayed many times, staff always friendly, food excellent. Nice bar area and you are not ripped off for drinks.

Had a lovely stay & enjoyed ourselves. We were quite a large group & had a few rooms booked. They catered very well for us & breakfast was very fulfilling. Hotel was very well located as we had a family wedding in the area. It was clean & owner is very nice and helpful.

Some of the bathrooms could be updated.

The staff were very attentive and friendly. The rooms were well equiped and comfortable.

The bathroom, although clean had an aroma of urine. I believe this was due the floor being carpeted.

Excellent location and comfortable room.

The "Basil Fawlty" Breakfast experience, I think everybody in the dining room were unhappy by woeful service.

A good location to get to my business meeting.

Breakfast got be improved,E.g yogurts instead just Rice type more various fruits.

Excellent value for money. I doubt it could be beaten at that price for comparable facilities. Good breakfast included. I stayed there for business very nearby but in the evening did my christmas shopping at the White Rose Shopping centre ( 10 mins drive). The trip adviser comments might have put me off but i have stayed there before and liked it. I dont expect the same level of facilities at the price I paid compared with when I pay three times as much somewhere else. But I do expect courtesy and cleanliness and I got both of these

the recetpion for wifi didnt reach my bedroom - (but i was happy sitting in the lounge area where it was fine). My room was up two flights of stairs quite narrow ones - I am fit so it didnt bother me but I can see it some people wouldnt like it.
