Heath Cottage Hotel & Restaurant  

The staff went out of their way to be helpful. The breakfast and dinner were excellent value. The location was perfect -very quiet but well served by roads.

Friendly and in good location. Excellent bar meals too.

The breakfast was well cooked. The building itself has great potential with a little bit of investment.

The bathroom needed a thorough clean. There was cobwebs in the corner and black mould around the bathtub coupled with smell of drains. Also an audible sound coming from the water tank. The rooms need updating very 1980's. Also had a disco in my room courtesy of the wedding reception in room below. The reception area needs improving felt like checking in at a serving hatch.

very annoyed as the booking was made well in advance and I was under the impression I had paid in advance only to find there was A bill to pay at the end of our stay. when booking it is in the small print and customers should be made fully aware of this issue it is very annoying to suddenly be faced with A bill you thought you had paid

The TV remote - had the hiccups and finding any station was a nightmare!! Can't understand some of the reviews - certainly not my experience.

It was an out of town hotel, plenty of parking space, reasonably quiet location

Very friendly and helpful staff. Great location. Breakfast was extremely good. I felt at home and relaxed and enjoyed my stay very much.

nice staff, good breakfast. The hotel has a 2012 AA 3 star award. If all you need is a bed for the night with decent quality bedding, this hotel is probably ok. we were at the back of the hotel and it was very quiet. (the front of the hotel overlooks a v.busy main road and may be impacted by noise....ask for a room at the vack just in case(!)

access to some rookms is difficult if you have a lot of luggage. our en-suite was not great - certainley needed a refurbishment....the shower control was extremely difficult to operate, in fact my wife couldn't work it. The location is on a main road, and at the back is a pretty untidy car park / open area, so a room with a view is not an option.

We where in the area for a wedding and the hotel was close to where the wedding and reception was taking place. We had a very pleasant stay.

Great location for the businesses I was visiting. Good sized rooms with comfy beds, all necessary info and equipment, good shower and very quiet indeed. Tea facilities in the room was great. Bar on site was nice too.

Friendly but very slow service from a nice young man who had not been well trained in hotel work. He sat on the phone to his manager for about 5 minutes while we waited in front of him. They could have made money from us in the bar and restaurant if they had had convincing service on arrival and a welcome. However, it was good value for money, clean and comfy. Just a shame it's another mediocre UK hotel.

Simply one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in. Staff, service and comfort second to non. I intend to use The Heath Cottage infuture whenever I'm in the area.

The room we got given bearing in mind we have a five month old baby was dirty stains on floor, blood splatted in bathroom, floor sticky, bathroom mouldy. Dirty towels with other peoples long hair still on,dirty travel cot with scummy bedding(thank god I had my own) our bedding had stains on and in the morning rubbish breakfast we checked into another hotel and the woman who checked us out was rude,the new manager was apologetic but we we not staying for the health of my son,i had my wedding party here 2 years ago it was nice then but iwill never set foot in the place again.

The food in the restuarant was excellent. The bed was comfortable and clean, and the towels was generous in size and also clean.

The room allocated was smalll and dirty, We asked to be moved, and this did not create a problem, although the room we moved to was clean and comfortable, we were unable to use the shower as it had cold water, again we reported this and were offered yet again another room, but as we had unpacked we felt it would be pointless moving yet again. The view over the rear car park, which contained a rubbish skip, full to capacity and a large bins from the restuarant were a bit off putting, but as we didn't stay in the room long then this was acceptable. Would have been different had it been summer as i'm sure we would have had problems with flies and thus meaning we would be unable to have the windows open. Also, although the food was good, the room in which it was served was very basic and had little ambience when having a romantic meal, no difference between evening/breakfast....same table ware etc.

We were offered a choice of rooms on arrival, the staff were helpful and polite, the room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was excellent.
