Very large room, with a comfy bed. The bathroom was clean and well appointed. A lot more could be made of the rooms, and spare mattresses in the corridor outside the room were a bit of a let down.

The staff were very friendly and helpful . The food was verygood. We were lucky enough to be allocated the room with the four poster bed - quite an experience ! I would have liked a hairdryer in the room plus , like many hotels , the lighting was not really good enough for reading etc.

Great hotel.lovely very helpful staff.nice food .lovely atmosphere.would definitely stay again. This is a lovely building.great staff.wonderful room.the weird thing is this building is hundreds of years old and unfortunately someone in a about the sixties decided tobuild a housing estate around it.but don't let this put you off.

The staff were friendly and helpful Our room was incredibly dated and tired and I feel overpriced for what was offered. The shower/bathroom was also not in great condition, although clean it was hard to tell as there was a lot of mould between the tiles.

They were very welcoming and pleasant but the attractive thatched hotel is in the middle of a housing estate. We chose it because Sunday nights are difficult to find somewhere to eat. Our steaks were very good and it served our purpose of a stopover on the way to Truro.

Very comfortable and relaxed. Good breakfast It is unfortunate that a new housing estate has been built around this hotel as it does rather spoil the feel of the inn. It doesn't feel like an old inn! But a convenient location otherwise.

It had a very welcoming feel and lots of period features. There was plenty of car parking and very pleasant grounds around the hotel. There was no fruit available on the breakfast bar. Spare mattresses, folding beds and old televisions were stored in the corridor outside bedrooms. There was a considerable amount of mould on the ceiling of the ensuite bathroom. We had requested a twin bedded room but the two single beds were pushed together with a large mattress across the top, not ideal for two friends to share.

A comfortable bed, spacious bathroom It is in the middle of a council estate, but leads you to believe that it is on main road, its a pub and you can only check in when pub is open (not an open allday pub)

Friendly welcome - including from the huge dog!, Lovely warm room and very comfortable bed, a really nice atmosphere in the pub in the evening too, good location, and excellent food Noise in the evening from the skittle alley, but it didn't go on late enough to interfere with a good night's sleep

We needed an Hotel near my husbands aunty who is in a care home in Honiton. This is the second time we have stayed there, the value for money is great and the food is first class. The fact that it is an old building, adds character to the hotel. We have been made welcome both times we have stayed there. We are going to be coming again in the new year.

good and plentyful food. comfortable rooms and lovely old world interior of pub. firendly and helpful staff restaurant was cold as no heating appeared to be on. decor was a little tired, carpets in pub need replacing. photos on the website indicate a rural fel to the loaction however it is in the middle of a modern housing estate which did detract from our stay slightly as we had no countryside views. i would stay again if i needed accomodation in the area but not for the romantic break i had anticipated

The friendly staff, free wifi, and included breakfast. The fact it is a proper pub that opens late makes it a good place to meet.

Good personal service. Food excellent. Good pub atmosphere in bar. Easy to book on-line or direct by phone. Have stayed there at least once a year for about 6 years now. My room was above skittle alley, but then it is primarily a pub. No noise after 10:30pm, so only affected me watching tv and not sleeping.

Carlos and Julie and their staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble, including bringing breakfast to the room. They looked after us very well and welcomed our visiting guests too. Would have no hesitation in staying there again. Some parts were in need of attention but the parts that mattered were very clean and well kept. It is a very large inn and a rolling refurbishment operation is bound to be in operation.
