It was very comfortable with a wonderful, huge bed. The bathroom was lovely . It was really quiet and the thick curtains meant that it was dark (I need extreme darkness to sleep and rarely find it in hotels). There was handy parking and it took only 10 minutes to reach the centre of York on foot.

Excellent location with free parking and an easy walk into City Centre, the staff were all helpful and friendly , Our Superior room at basement level was large and very quiet.and represented great value. The en suite bathroom suffered a bit from damp and the bath was very small although an excellent shower made up for this

Location is excellent. 8 minute walk to the centre of York. It also has a car park which is a real selling point for hotels so close to the centre The mattresses definitely need changing. Although the rooms are large they don't have any real personal touches and the hotel as a whole feels quite basic. I would expect something with a bit more style for this price bracket

Location to city centre was very good. Rooms booked triple and double. Parking was only available on a first come first serve basis and we were not aware of this. The double room did not have a double bed in it. No mirror either. There is alot of stairs in this hotel was not a problem for us but could be for some people. Overall it is a good hotel in a great location. Most of the staff are friendly and helpful.

Stayed in a superior double. Big clean room, high ceilings, flat screen tv with most freeview channels, comfortable bed, plenty of tea coffee suplpies. Big cups. Great location 5 min walk from York Minster. They offered to waive the £5 Parking fee for late departure as I was unable to squeeze into car park on arrival. Could not get parked on arrival. (19.45. Came up from London after laeving work early) There is a Public car park on the other side of the railway track within easy walking distance. Only problem is getting up before 8am to buy a two hour ticket and then return to put the car in the hotel car park. I thought they had a visitor permit book or similar to avert this situation. They did offer to waive the £5 fee for extended parking on day of departure which was a good gesture.

Staff were really friendly and the location was excellent, loved free parking and they let us leave our car for the day after checkout at no extra charge.I Also had lots of shopping bags as it was my 40th birthday and they insisted on keeping them in the hotel for me and not leave them in my car. Breakfast was great with a good selection to start you off for the day. Only minor thing was I found the bed to be too soft and had slight back ache next morning

One of our party had a minor accident with her luggage, and this resulted in all of her clothing being soaking wet. The receptionist kindly washed and dried them. This meant a lot to my friend, so thankyou

Friendly staff, great location, good breakfast facilities. Lovely clean room, lots of space and just overall a very nice place! Parking was a bit of a nightmare- we were driving our brand new car and were terrified! There was only one space left in the main car park which we actually couldn't get into (angles!) and then had to do a rather nifty manouver to park in front of one of the garages!

Hedley House Hotel was an excellent spot for our city trip. The room we booked was very spacious bigger than we were expecting, excellent facilities, everything anyone would want and more.Lovely comfortable beds,on suite was perfect.Staff were very welcoming and polite. If only we had realised there was a jacuzzi and sauna we would have packed our swimming gear. The food was absolutely worth staying in for and very good value for money. Car park was a bonus. Would definitely recommend and definitely be coming back.

The location The lunch - it took a long time to come and it wasn't worth waiting for. The fire exit in our room was locked so there would be no way out in a fire.
