The choice, variety and standard of food was excellent. I was in the attic - no lift - three flights of stairs and the last flight was narrow. Also the flow from the shower was very poor. |

Ideal for a long weekend in York, close to city centre. Having to walk outside to access dining room from our room, could do with covered walkway. |

Nice room, large bathroom, very clean, staff all very friendly and efficient, and a good location near, but not in, the city centre (i.e. handy, but not noisy). Excellent value for money and will definitely stay there again next time in York. |

We loved our stay at this hotel. We had a large newly refurbished room which was extremely comfortable. The only problem we found was the room was very warm as the weather was particularly hot. No problem though, they happily provided a fan. We enjoyed ourselves so much we asked if we could stay another night. Unfortunately the room we were occupying was booked out but we were given another very lovely room to the front of the building. Breakfast was piping hot and the staff very attentive. All in all we had a grand time and would definately return. |

Hotel has character and lots of thought had gone into the guest information. Everyone very friendly and helpful. I couldn't reach the on/off button on the tv!! It's just a little over- priced for what it is, possibly. |

The central location of hotel to the centre of the city - the staff were pleasant and the breakfast very adequate. Yes, the rooms are noisy as the walls are very thin, you can hear most things from the nextdoor room and the floors are extremely creeky, so if you are a light sleeper forget it. I only had one evening meal and it left a lot to the imagination. |
