Good clean hotel. Location was good for a visit to Colleges.
Although we arrived late for breakfast, the kitchen staff were so kind as to provide all we needed: coffee, croissants, bread, jam, cereals etc.
Helen Hotel had one of the best breakfast meals that I have had so far at a hotel. Various foods in a buffet style, including raspberry yogurt, oatmeal bar, toast with several different jams and butter, coffee.tea.milk.apple juice.orange juice. sausages. bacon. chocolate chip bread. baked beans. plain yogurt. 5 different cereals. eggs. 3 different breads. Helen hotel definitely broke my preconception of British food.
Replace the photos. The dining hall is cleaner, brighter, bigger than it looks. The hotel is also bigger than it looks on the photos. The bathrooms look more hygenic.
Good location good room size.
Long life milk for tea and coffee in room tasted bit off. Getting shower temperature right a bit of a challenge but got there in the end
nice room and wonderful bed
no lift a little bit far away from city center and rail station, yet that`s okay since the price makes it valuable
Wifi should be with the hotel network, rather than the cloud account.
The stay at Helen Hotel meets expectations and compared to other B&B type hotels exceeds those. Room and bathroom are clean and the hotel as a whole makes good impression.
Breakfast ends early, staff is professionally correct.
Excellent facilities in quiet and clean condition. 5 star rating for Hot buffet breakfast and service provided. Excellent shower with strong water flow.
Limited room in the en-suite and limited water pressure in hot water tap which only produced lukewarm water.
easy parking, nice location, excellent staff , service, breakfast , hotel all first class & value for money
Good standard of hotel, ample off road parking very helpful staff.
comfortable bed. quiet room. nice breakfast.
Room a little small. Shower room very small, needs some clothes hanging facilities. nobody manning the bar, had to call receptionist, all a bit cold and unfriendly.
Lovely building, friendly staff, comfortable hotel at a very reasonable price. A good breakfast buffet as well.
A bit out of the way, but there is a bus from right across the hotel to the railway station and to city center.
A 15 minute walk from the railway station and so much cosier and welcoming than some other hotels in the area.
Breakfast was sub standard, products cheap. Room was so small the bathroom door hit the bed every time we opened it. The bathroom was so small we had to dry ourselves after a shower half in the bed room because there wasn't enough room in the bathroom.
clean and served by professional and friendly staff
Great value for money, stayed here with my friends, not far from city centre, great breakfast choice, very attentive staff during breakfast. Room was clean and big enough for 3 people "Family Room" ,over all is good for what it is.Thank you
I found it a very comfortable place to stay, The beds were excellent and the breakfast good. Also, having somewhere to park a car off road was a boon. It's very easy to pick up a bus into Cambridge, which makes life easier, or for anyone reasonably energetic the distance is walkable.
The double room was clean and cosy and provided all necessities. All furnitures (also breakfast room) are reasonably new and of good taste compared to similar hotels.
Breakfast ends 9 am (9.30 Sun) which is very early. Internet connection goes through Cloud which can be tricky (we had issue with Macs) and cuts off frequently.
The location was excellent with the bus outside the front door or a 20 minute walk. The breakfast was of a high standard but maybe a little variation would be nice. The wifi worked well. The staff were helpful and friendly. The tea, coffee and shampoo was relenished daily.
The showerhead could be changed to a larger one and a bigger fan for the bathroom. We stayed in room 226 and the bed was great as we are on tge large side and the bed dipped in middle.
Excellent choice at breakfast and really friendly waiting staff.
Ask the owner for the shortcut from the station before your visit. It's quite a long walk along Hills Road otherwise if you have luggage to carry.
The location was easy to drive to but was still within easy walking distance to the main part of town. There was plenty of space in the unit.
The staff were friendly, breakfast was decent, the rooms were very comfortable.
A little further out of town than was ideal.
Good location and friendly staff with free parking and wi-fi.
Hotel lacked character and looked quite dated in its decor and style. Not at all suitable for disabled persons as the stairs were quite steep and uneven (my partner stumbled down them and hurt his leg). Breakfast was served efficiently by friendly and helpful waitresses but the food itself (the cooked buffet breakfast) was a little bland.
I like the friendliness and professionality of the staff. The location is also another strong point in favour of the hotel. I unreservedly recommend it.
Good location to Cambridge Station. A very charming old home.
Big stairs, a bit too much, although it would be hard to put in a lift.
