The receptionist waived booking fees as there was an error made on the original booking. She was very caring and professional. I lied the bath. Everything - my husband couldn't get the shower to work. I did manage ths but with great difficulty. The hair dryer hadn't been used in a whie and blew out sheets of dust. No bar service - the bar was like a cupboard with a couple of supplies. No-one serving anyway. Bar room is pokey and not conducive to enjoying a nice drink. Breakfast was basic and the hot old was cold. I was given 2 thin pieces of basic bread, small glass of juice and small pot of instant coffee! Not much selection of food and not available until 8 am. No other meals provided by the hotel. A good half hour walk into the town - and I'm a fast, fit walker!

Family oriented / owned hotel and very comfortable, clean, value for money. Amenities within the room were excellent and very clean. Would recommend to others and have done to the CEO of Addenbrookes Hospital. Floors a little creaky and loud that you could hear whenever someone was close by ... but that could be the age of the hotel too!

As always, I received a lovely welcome; staff are helpful and polite. The breakfast is consistently good with a cheerful service. The rooms are comfortable. The hotel is within walking distance into city centre and there are bus stops across the road. The hotel is very clean, has safe parking, and offers good value for a city hotel. Recommended for a good value over night stay.

Very friendly staff, really helpful and efficient. Great location for me as directly opposite the college I was visiting to attend an Open University course only gripe was that the shower-head was too big for the fixture, so would droop and point at the wall (while good for comedy value not very efficient) also slightly noisy when guests would walk passed to their rooms, but as this was not late it was not an issue for me.

friendly & very helpful staff, good location for city centre (bus stop outside or 20-30 minute walk), value for money in relation to Cambridge, clean and cormfortable. I will certainly Helen Hotel it again. Looking a little aged in places but still clean and comfortable. Hopefully decoration and updates will happen in the few small areas to maintain the hotel's good standards.

Cheap for Cambridge but still expensive. Not enough space in dining room to sit down comfortably. Difficult to get fresh juice in the morning

Staff very friendly & helpful both at breakfast and late evening. Peaceful & quite room away from the main road. Excellent location for walking both into the city and towards Addenbrokes and the fields beyond. Excellent scambled eggs at breakfast - so fluffy & light - a gem!! Toast served with your cereals & yoghurt- prefer it with the cooked breakfast so we had to order extra toast. Torn valance throughout our stay & damaged lamp shade, both these spoilt the "class of the room". Otherwise, a good place to stay.
