Great location with views of the wear valley and very friendly staff The bedroom and bathroom was in need of refurbishment as the shower head was not working properly. Paint was peeling off the roof. One of the lamps was hanging off the wall.

Staff were very friendly and went out of their way to help. The food was freshly prepared and hot. There was a reasonable choice for a small hotel. The open fire in the lounge was very inviting and staff were always there to bring drinks and ensure I had everything I needed. My room was clean but a little dated. Shower wasn't very powerful and I was unable to get wifi in my room. Wifi was available in most of the hotel
