The only thing that could improve our experience would be some fresh fruit (there was plenty of dried) at breakfast, but can't say we missed it that much as there was so much on offer!
We stayed for one night, visiting daughter at Bristol University. My daughter and her friend joined us for dinner, which was very nice - great food and service. You do need to book a table and check that it's OK to have guests that are not staying in the hotel for dinner, which is entirely reasonable as this is a small, personal hotel and restaurant which prides itself on customer service. So much nicer than staying in a large hotel. All the staff we met were lovely, helpful and kind. Breakfast was delicious, with lots of choice. You can have the continental breakfast, which was very good - everything seemed to be home made - yogurt, jam, lemon curd - delicious! Then there is the full English option, which is just that, with quality ingredients and also the opportunity to sample the continental selection! It is clear that the chef takes great pride in the food he sends out of the kitchen and we certainly appreciated it!
We had a room at the front of the hotel and there was some road noise, so if that is a problem, ask for a quiet room or bring some ear plugs - they did the trick! Our room on the top floor was clean and spacious with a super modern bathroom, decent tv and comfortable beds. Would certainly return and as daughter is on a 5 year course, it's entirely possible we will! Thank you all for a very pleasant stay!
