The roomes were spotless and the welcome from the receptionist on duty was excellent. The bar and dinning room staff were hopeless. Very slow service. One waiter walked past me four times at the bar before asking "Did I want something?" The bas was not busy with only six other customers there. Two off duty members of stff were drinking in the bar and allowed themselves to be "picked up" by two residents. The food was very avereage. There was no homemade jam available. The receptionist on departure was hopeless. She firstly stopped dealing with me when anoher receptionist told her to organise a taxi for another resident. She again stopped dealing with my checkout to talk for a long time on the phone.

We had a lovely friendly welcome from the duty receptionist, and found all staff friendly, courteous and helpful. The room (classic) was on the small size, but "perfectly formed" and adequate for a weekend stay, with a very comfortable bed. We loved the huge fluffy towels in the bathroom, a big contrast to the skimpiness of some hotel towels. Breakfast was varied, well cooked and plentiful. It was a pleasure to stay here. The only thing we would change would be the music playing at breakfast. It's personal, but we are not keen on booming bass, especially first thing in the morning. A little light classical/quiet modern jazz etc. would be more soothing.

Comfortable room, especially the bed. Lovely furnishings in the room. Very pleasant staff. Rather tired looking public areas which need refurbishing to be on a par with the bedrooms which are beautiful. Eg threadbare stair carpet, scruffy paintwork and cheap looking wallpaper in the dining room. Rather expensive evening meal, costing £156 without starter.( 4 main meals, two desserts, brandies and coffee.)

I liked how well the Hotel had been refurbished. The restaurant, bedroom and communal areas feel much more luxurious. I stayed in Hendon Hall two years ago and thought the decorations were shabby. It was ready for modernising and I was impressed at how much better it looked and made it feel much more worth the cost. Thank you!

The rooms are nicely decorated. In general staff very friendly and competent. Great breakfast Cost of wine in the restaurant was unreasonably high. Food good quality and reasonably priced. Whole experience was spoiled by glass of wine at over £9 for a small glass and poor service/inexperienced staff.
