This 16th-century mansion offers elegant luxury, just a 15-minute drive from Wembley Stadium in northwest London. Rooms offer fresh coffee, and there is a stylish lounge bar and restaurant. Converted into a hotel in 1911, 4-star Hendon Hall has a beautiful terrace, and housed the England soccer team during their victorious World Cup in 1966. With free Wi-Fi, a flat-screen TV and DVD player, each room at the Hall is furnished with rich fabrics, while some have an original fireplace. Luxury bathrooms have Gilchrist & Soames toiletries and bathrobes. The Garrick Restaurant offers modern cuisine, with a full English breakfast served each morning. Guests can dine on the terrace, or sample a lighter meal or afternoon tea in the lounge bar. Hampstead Heath and Brent Cross Shopping Center are within a 10-minute drive. Hendon Central Tube (subway) Station and highway M1 are about 1 mile away. Hotel Rooms: 57, Hotel Chain: Handpicked Hotels.

Comfortable room, especially the bed. Lovely furnishings in the room. Very pleasant staff. Rather tired looking public areas which need refurbishing to be on a par with the bedrooms which are beautiful. Eg threadbare stair carpet, scruffy paintwork and cheap looking wallpaper in the dining room. Rather expensive evening meal, costing £156 without starter.( 4 main meals, two desserts, brandies and coffee.)

I liked how well the Hotel had been refurbished. The restaurant, bedroom and communal areas feel much more luxurious. I stayed in Hendon Hall two years ago and thought the decorations were shabby. It was ready for modernising and I was impressed at how much better it looked and made it feel much more worth the cost. Thank you!

Easy access from m1 Unfortunately experienced fire alarm sounding but no member of staff took charge of the situation, no fire marshalls appeared to give instruction and guests were left to make their own way to the assembly point. Some guests were in nightwear and had bare feet. After some time of standing in the assembly area one of the guests went back in to the hotel where we were informed it was a false alarm and the evacuation had taken place for guests safety. However, at no point did any member of staff appear at the assembly area, no roll call was taken and not all guests exited the building. Would we have been left standing outside forever if some one had not used their initiative?

the room was spotless and the bed was extremely comfortable. The staff were very unfriendly and turse, they did not seem to embrace the 'customer is always right' policy at all , and a smile seemed a huge effort.

We had a lovely friendly welcome from the duty receptionist, and found all staff friendly, courteous and helpful. The room (classic) was on the small size, but "perfectly formed" and adequate for a weekend stay, with a very comfortable bed. We loved the huge fluffy towels in the bathroom, a big contrast to the skimpiness of some hotel towels. Breakfast was varied, well cooked and plentiful. It was a pleasure to stay here. The only thing we would change would be the music playing at breakfast. It's personal, but we are not keen on booming bass, especially first thing in the morning. A little light classical/quiet modern jazz etc. would be more soothing.

The hotel has a good position, the room was clean and quiet (a major concern with hotels I find). Coffee/Tea facilities. Large tv. Iron and Ironing board. Nice 4 poster double bed. The food was very poor - two rosettes ?? This was a major letdown as we like to choose hotels with restaurents where the food is part of the experience. 1St night the food was fairly tasteless (haddock scotch egg starter and lamb main meal), minimum vegetables on offer (cauliflower, cabbage or bolied potatoes extra only). 2Nd night butternut squash soup ok, but duck so salty it had to be sent back and replaced with another meal.

Everything from the efficient, courteous staff to the wonderful food and clean comfortable room. Ideally situated only 6 miles from Wembley with easy access to the Stadium via local transport. Would definitely return to this hotel again and would not hesitate to recommend to family and friends

Helpful, courteous, welcoming staff and comfort of the room. The bathroom could be cleaner. There was some mildew in the grouting and sealant and the rubbers on the shower screen weren't particularly clean. Also, we booked a room for 2 adults and a baby and were given only 2 towels.
