Great location and easy to find
The breakfast was terrible and the bar was poorly stocked with only one type of bottled beer and no draft
Friendly, helpful staff. Good facilities, nice pool. Delicious breakfast, with gluten free options. Great few nights stay.
Minor problem -restricted view of television in bed. Basic room quite small but sufficient for purpose.
convenience for public transport
size of the room, noisy, restaurant only served sandwiches in the evening
We loved the instalations. Great money-quality relation.
Nothing.. we had a great time
Good location, clean
Air conditioning not working, had to rely on fan which wasn't sufficient, no ironing board available, room very small
a nice welcome from staff room a little too small..
location good, staff friendly
Nothing to dislike but it had a distinctly middle eastern feel which seemed strange in London
Room was specious clean reception were very friendly
The friendly and competent staff saved strange lacks in planning and standard. Also the cleaning was perfect. The area is very nice, calm, beautiful and with all kinds of services and transports around.
Having booked the room more than five weeks boefore arriving, noting specified demands (quiet room, high up) we were given a room - nr 10 - at the basement, viewing a wall one meter från the window, with subway tracks right under the beds, noisy and shaking every five minutes. Thanks to the competent night portier we could finally move to an excellant room way after Midnight. The room nr 10 shouldn't be used for hotel purpose at all... It turned out that the booking system the hotel uses doesn't display customer's commentaries or demands, thus never even looked at... only name and date. And rooms are distributed the night before, Having booked long time in advance or with specific demands have no use in this - though - four star hotel. The small swimming pool did not show any sign of continuous cleaning system. The sign with demands of starting with a shower, open beside the pool, had no effect as the shower only had ice cold water, even after ten minutes flow, why nobody used it. Three mornings a week the pool is used for a children's swimming school, without this inconvenience noted to hotel guests. Apart from the unclean impression the hotel doesn't provide bathrobes or slippers or extra bathtowels by the pool. With only two changing boots with curtains the guests end up having to take the stairs or lift barefoot in swimsuite, partially covered with the room towel, returning to the room wet and cold. As we mainly choose hotels with swimmingpools, this was the strangest one. Birgitta, Stockholm, Sweden
Very friendly staff Great breakfast Easy walk to Underground or bus Lift
Room was exceptionally plain
Nice location with friendly staff
Hotel is quite old and requires renovation
Extremely poor communication skills, unwillingness to help with luggage, even when I was only guest at the time, tolerating smoking by stating "what I can do-I cannot see everything". The noise from builders on site, incl full scaffold, was unbearable, ie NO sleep at all. Staff incl manager not willing to reconsider the stately charge of 173 GBP.
The staff was friendly..
I booked a room with a double bed, instead I got a room with a double bed, a single bed and a sofa bed opened up and ready for use.. We were having a nice romantic evening but had to stay in a room with extra beds, did not feel romantic or cosy. In fact we felt very awkward and uncomfortable.. Would be nice to her the room we actually booked and paid for..
We were two ladies travelling together and had a lovely stay for 6 nights at Henry VIII. Being an avid swimmer, I was thrilled to have a wonderful pool to use, with freedom during many hours. We were upgraded to a bigger room than we paid for because we would be there a while, and the beds were luxurious and soft. The staff were very helpful even packing us a picnic breakfast when our tour started early in the morning, and the breakfasts each morning were wonderful - great range and plenty of choice. I came here after my daughter stayed for 3 weeks here and loved it, and thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a wonderful relaxing holiday.
Internet was not useable in the rooms, but was no problem to use on the comfortable sofas in the foyer.
Breakfast ok and clean room were you have it. Luggage room was convenient.
Very small room not even able,to walk beside bed ,carpets dirty ,bathroom small clean but, shower, very poor not room to stand in bath without shower curtain fight, shower head best place in bin ,no remote for TV,had better caravan, with bigger bedroom and more space,
Good value at the discounted rate and for London prices. Well located for Paddington, tube stations, shopping, museums and Hyde Park.
Poor recommendation by reception of where to go to eat; Queensway - a bit rough!
Looks a building site with workers on scaffolding. Room 2 small bed tiny for 6'7' tall man. Dust bottom of walls.pool is kids basin.there's train like noise every so often.room service non existent I asked for sugar nd I had to go fetch it myself
Poor service not close to 2 stars
Staff in the reception are very very friendly....and supportive....
Hotel needs complete renovation everything is too old..
Not so far from a two metro stations, and about 10-15 min walks to Paddington rail station. 3 min walk to Hyde park.
Small room! A nasty chairs in a cantine.
Aircon in small room.
Room was very small and dated and found broken socket outlet and train station so close to room was noisy plus the sauna didn't work and staff couldn't wait to get rid of quest for breakfast plus the beans were hard and warm and scramble egg was cold. The hotel has scaffolding outside not very nice they rate the hotel four star and was expensive for £125.10 should be a two star,it's over prices paying for the location address.
location. breakfast ok
pool broke. small bed. pool broke
Breakfast in the morning is good. Rooms are small, but clean. At Least The One We got. You are in London to Not be in your room and sleep only lol
The overall facilities are old and you can see signs of aging...the hallways and common areas need a little tlc. This hotel is definitely not a 4 star. I'd give it a 2.5 stars based on USA standards.
