The staff was very friendly and helpful. Overall stay was good and good value for money
Nothing as such
small but stylish rooms, very comfortable. Loved the breakfast menu and buffet.
The fabulous breakfast, the super staff, the location, and the quality of the bed gave a great restful sleep. I pre-booked breakfast and got great savings as a result.
Trere was nothing that i didn't like
Staff, breakfast, comfy bed
Difficult to fill kettle in room as too big to get under tap.
Bedrooms Honesty bar Breakfast
Stylish, low key and very grown-up comfort. Loved the room, the lounge was gorgeous, the honesty bar, the breakfast - the courtyard and fantastic value for money. Such a refreshing contrast to chain hotels we often use as a family - a real treat!
Nothing - a pool would be lovely but I don't know where it would go!
Really good hotel. Close to town but not to close.
Position. Close to some good pubs as well as close enough to attractions such as Royal Mile. Lovely breakfast place just 2 minutes away.
Carpets were not very clean both on the stairs and in the bedroom. Also the window latch was damaged so could only open wide or not at all.
We liked the sweet charm of the refurbished bedrooms, the atmospheric bar and lounge area, the secluded courtyard outside the bar for a quiet drink and the friendly staff.
There was nothing that we did not like at this hotel.
Great service, location, comfort, will definitely stay here again.
Can't think of anything!
Within walking distance of the town which was just what we were looking for having booked the tattoo, friendly staff, comfortable room.
Nothing all good
The hotel is a great place to stay with excellent rooms and a top notch breakfast. There are some nice bars and restaurants within a couple of minutes walk.
Central enough, without being right in the middle of things - particularly useful during the Fringe festival. Clean and comfortable Good local restaurants, cafes and pubs On a quiet street
Having to leave
Breakfast was amazing Staff were great they did what they could Kitchen girls were lovely Bed was clean and huge
Our room was awful Broken window Mould on walls Curtains falling off Toilet seat broken And foreign staff sat outside our room chatting till 5am in morning
Location Breakfast Easy going
no real parking only public car parks Would have preferred a tradidional bar some noise over the road
Staff wre helpful-breakfast very good.room clean and tidy. We liked the honesty bar! Comfortable and secure.
Edinburgh in August is expensive! we were surprised that cups used previous day were not replaced or cleaned.
We loved our room, the lounge area and courtyard and the superb breakfast.
Close to the city centre. Clean, comfortable rooms.
Told on arrival that they had a deal with local parking, however they failed to mention that they charge you £5 for the privilege. That plus festival rates make it a pricey stay.
Stylish boutique accommodation. Tastefully decorated room. Nice staff.
Loud noises in the night - banging doors. Also it was a bit further from city centre than I thought it would be.
Nice decorated Room, we had an upgrade & so a very nice bathroom with a great shower & a lot of space. Honesty bar in a beautiful furnished " living room" with a goid range of different drinks.
Friendly and attentive staff. We got the small double. It was fine. We had a problem with bathroom though. But they solved it even if it was very late at night. Location is not for everyone, I would say. It is a nice and quite street. There are restaurants and bars around. But it is 30 minutes walk from Waverley Station if you are not carrying anything and know your way. Close to Haymarket Station though. Cab costed 21 pounds for airport (paid with credit card). Not too bad for Grassmarket. So check a map before book it:)
Our toilet was blocked at night. They solved the issue quickly. But still it was not nice to have a blocked toilet.
reception was empty (around 12am) the guy who came out 10 mins later appeared to be tipsy or high. However, he was still very friendly. location feels a bit dodgy.
