Good location. Small room, but everything you need for a short stay
I forgot a charger in my room and called back for it the following day. Despite promises to get back to me, nothing has been received to date
Staff were very friendly and accomodating. The shower was excellent and the bed was incredibly comfortable. Excellent location in easy walking distance of everything
I liked everything about the hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were a bit small but didn't make us uncomfortable. I can recommended it to everyone.
Location and attentiveness of staff. Both the room and the bathroom were clean with a good standard of shower.
Room 109 is very small, too small for comfort really and you couldn't open the window.
Great hotel in a great quite location . Will recommend to my friends.
Reception staff were very helpful and friendly
Breakfast was outstanding
Very helpful polite staff and a great location
Being asked to wait 1 HR 20 mins for breakfast
Room reasonable, shower good,
No bath Parking is a nightmare
Location, price, room.
Nothing had a overall great time.
Noisy guests came back to the hotel late at night very night. The wall and floor are too thin, I think.
A boutique hotel in a fairly central location. I had a very good room rate and was pleased by the standard of my room. The WiFi was fast and easy to connect. The bed was excellent, I slept very well! Good powerful shower in the morning too. Nice to be in city centre hotel in an historic building with a lift.
On road parking; I had no problem as I arrived after 7pm and left before 8.30am! Apparently the hotel does have parking 'off site' but it wasnt mentioned to me!
Situated within walking distance of The Old Town near Grass Market! 10 minute walk from the airport bus drop to hotel in Haymarket- white linen and modern bathroom with heated towel rails!
Battled a while to get the central heating system going! Had to call duty manager to fix heating and shower door!
Good walking distance to EICC. I stayed in a compact room, which did not feel cramped. Excellent shower, good power. Decoration of room was lovely. Bed very comfortable.
Unfortunately, due to the one way system in Edinburgh, had a bit of a drive to get to designated car park which has a hotel discount.
Great location, 15 min walk to the castle.
Parking in the area is an issue. No street parking, and the hotel has a very limited number of parking bays available for 12 pounds extra for 24 hrs. We got the last available bay, and the couple that came in just after us missed out and had to pay 30pounds to park nearby. If you need parking, book your bay ahead of time. One side of the bed base had collapsed, So my wife slept fine, but i felt like i was falling out of bed the whole night. We reported it in the morning, but the guy on reception didn't seem to care.
Friendly staff. 10 mins from the castle. Stayed in a triple room with my mum and 10 year old daughter and it was a good size and all very clean.
Very welcoming hotel
Heating was set at 8 degrees which left the room feeling a bit fresh to say the least.
We liked the hotel very much from reception to breakfast and our room was small but very clean and light good shower we thought the honesty bar was a real thoughtful idea and well stocked breakfast was extra at £7if booked on Entrance and it was great parking was extra also but we both had a good weekend
We didn't like the size of the room it was a squeeze getting round the bed
Cheap washing, comfortable beds.
staff was friendly, decor of room was nice
hotel is out of the center, room was stuffy and warm and the room is very small.
Friendly helpful staff, comfortable beds, pleasant stay, good breakfast. Good location.
I had just finished a formalised study tour as a group of ten people and was facing the next month solo. I was tired and homesick, had not had a decent bed/shower since arriving and needed a few nights in Edinburgh. I found Brooks on bookings.com and could not speak highly enough of the hotel and its staff! The bed was soft and comfy as were the pillows, the shower was hot and had actual pressure! It was clean and the room had plenty of space for me and ALL my luggage!! The staff were beyond helpful, storing my luggage the first day, printing my bus ticket the morning i left and also assisting me in sending a parcel back home. They printed the numerous copies off paperwork UPS required, provided tape and storage until the Monday for collection even though I left Sunday morning. I did not eat the hot breakfast but the continental was lovely!! As I got a deal off the website I can not comment on price etc normally but I was very impressed for what I paid. Wifi worked without a problem and the hotel is about a ten minute walk to Princes st. Well worth the stay!!
Linen and bed were of very high quality, all the makings of an excellent nights sleep
We loved the lounge and honesty bar The bed was the most comfortable hotel bed ever The atmosphere was homely and relaxing The staff were friendly and courteous
A minor detail ( to us). Our room wasn't made up due to staff error but was dealt with very well. However, they left a dirty saucer under the clean one which was off putting. The hotel was so beautiful it really didn't matter, so we didn't bring this up with the staff.
