I stayed here before and had a good time however I hated this time only one plug socket in the room, I had no where to plug my laptop or to charge my phone unless I unplugged the tv, no remote for tv either and breakfast as changed for the worse from full english to continental very disappointed and I wont be staying there again

The room smelt musky, the chair seat was broken, the floor tiles in the bathroom were cracked around the tiolet area, the tiolet roll holder fell off as soon as it was touched, the bed was very uncomfortable. The hotel is located next to a club, even though the club wasn't open all we could hear was people walking past, talking, loud music and slamming doors. When i closed the blinds (which are unsuitable for a hotel room) there were huge gaps where some of the blind was missing which meant the light was constantly in the room from outside!!

We arrived and was given a run down smoking room which we didn't request on reservation. We soon told reception we wasn't happy so was transferred to a non smoking room. The bed was old! Broken base and a cheap matress. Made our stay very unenjoyable due to lack of sleep. Was aware of the hotel being refurbished however this hotel should not stay open for trading during this time if you can't get the simple things like the beds right! 0/10 and very disappointed !

Absolutely the worst hotel we have ever seen.Very unhelpful staff upon checking in,we asked to see the room before booking in,horrible room, nasty metal windows that did not close, hole in bathroom door, toilet not flushing properly,no drinking water apart from 1 small bottle provided.Asked to be moved to a "newly refurbished" room to be told there were no spare rooms whatsever, told we would have to pay even if we didnt want the room.We booked this hotel because we had been led to believe it had been fully refurbished,PAH.After returning after a meal out we were greeted in the bathroom by silver fish all over the floor.Went down to reception to complain&demand to be moved&your 1 saving grace was Sanjim who found us a room to move to,but this was only slightly better, all this happening at midnight!!Breakfast was also abysmal

Very Seedy. Very Poor. Very dodgy sorts hanging around. Signs for "no kicking doors" and "no drugs" set the tone for the stay. Didn't realise hotels this horrible still existed!

Quick signing in process, Unfussy. Large bar area. Close to city centre.Lots of drawer and wardrobe space in the bedrooms. Comfortable temperature in the bedroom.. Booked on-line into Metro Inn but took some time in the rain to find it as there was no sign to say it was a Metro Inn. Overhead bed light quite dim.Remote control for tv did not work

It was affordable, central to Derby, and the hotel is currently having a refurb, so improvements are I'm sure on the way. The room was clean and the breakfast pleasant, and crucially for me, free wifi. The details were all wrong: there wasn't a room number screwed to the door - it was an A4 print-out... The lift doesn't have an up and a down button - both buttons are facing down... The bathroom has a sign saying 'Not drinking water' (so where am I supposed to get it?!), and yet they've put a cup right next to the sign - just to taunt me? ...but with all this, they are refurbing, and it was so cheap that all these things amused, rather than angered me.

The staff were excellent and helpful. The bed was extremly comfortable and the shower had hot water. Thw central heating ensured my room was lovely and warm. I think that it was great value for money, yes it is being refurbed and should be more expensive to stay when finished. there is a lovely bar with friendly staff. It is in the town centre and just a 2 min walk to the shops and transport with a taxi rank a minute away. I will be staying here again next week, and look forward to having to write another posotive review. I have seen poor reviews for this hotel, I.E. the shower is too small--i laugh, I am 24 stone and I didnt have any trouble, you do struggle at first with your electronic door key, but they do work when you get the knack.. Give it a go a warm room with en suite and breakfast for £26 how could you complain

Not a lot! I appreciate the hotel is undergoing refurbishment at the moment, however in our opinion it should be closed whilst these improvements are being made. The "car park" is horrendous, and you will be lucky to find a space. The rooms are dirty and damp whilst the corridor leading to the rooms smell of sewage. The breakfast room is like a school hall with tables pointing towards a large screen projector, showing bbc news!! The only plus side is the location, the hotel is in the centre of the town which means getting about is very easy ... lets face it you will want to be out and about if you stay at this hotel!!!!!

I was very disappointed with this hotel. The bed springs was coming out, room very dirty and noisy ( above a night club) and the breakfast was very basic, cold croissant from a package and toast. We moved rooms since I couldn’t sleep on the awful bed, and the curtains would go only half way to the window. Not a very good experience.

Room was cold. Bed was uncomfortable with a cheap mattress with no support. The curtains were dirty and did not fit the window. The windows were draughty. On the 2nd night the bed was not made properly.Just a small cup,no spoon provided for refreshments. Biggest dissapointment was the very poor breakfast. The cooked breakfast was the best thing about this hotel, but the new continental breakfast was awful.

I thought the Metro was filthy right from the reception to the rooms. The carpets are old and outdated. The windows were filthy. The furniture was old and broken and I would never stay there or recommend it to any of my friends or family. In the breakfast room the jug for the orange juice was slimy on the inside and most of the cutlery was dirty. The best thing to do with this hotel is demolish it and start again

The location was excellent as it is just a few minuites walk to the town centre. The continental breakfast came as an added bonus. I found the staff to be friendly and helpful. I stayed for two night and the first night was quite noisy with music from a club. I went down to breakfast at 9am and found that the coffee was cool.

the staff at reception were great thats it! firstly id like to say ive never stayed at a more gruby hotel than this are room was 466 a twin it was disgusting the floor was filthy not been cleaned the curtains hanging down blood or sauce on the curtain the room so yellow from the years you used to be able to smoke in there a poxy tv everything about the room was bad there was a 25th party going on when we were there and a nightclub and casino right next door so if you want a good nights sleep dont stay here it gets better breakfast time and i was just doing some toast when noticed the bread was moldy i told the staff and he said sorry and brought some more out and yes that was moldy to i had to get him to bring a loaf out unopened was a joke i can honestly say we would never stay at this hotel again even if it was free i no theres new managment taken over but they really need to knock it down and start again its that bad!

On arrival the outside was dirty and damaged the receptionist was in jeans and a jumper the other guests were more like dss vagrants the foyer was dirty and tatty on entering my room the bed was damaged and the mattress was worn and dirty the room smelt the room benefited from a 6 foot window it's a shame it only had a 4 foot curtain to cover it I asked if they had another room but they informed me this was the standard of the rooms and I wouldn't benefit from moving I asked for a refund but was told no as there is a 24 hour cancelations policy the rooms below were being cooked in and the smell was disgusting having this hotel on your books lowers your status as a reputable booking site it's a disgrace to call it a hotel it is more a hostel for down and outs

The bed was clean and comfortable Run down location. Very small bedrooms (had to change from one which smelt of smoking), bathroom was clean but not very well appointed - bits of work unit around sink bits of wet wall in the middle of the tiles behind the toilet - generally looked poor quality and certainly not as if it had been re-furbished properly. Breakfast was poor quality . Wouldn't recommend this hotel.
