Score from 101 reviews Good
Terrible smell of smoke at the entrance to the hotel as the wall mounted ashtray was next to the door, entrance looked dirty, room was dirty, when complained was told that's what you get when you book a 2*. I have ran a 2* hotel and it was impeccable!
Poor service and Dirty rooms
The resturant and food were good. But services was slow
Cheap and tired bed, thread bare towels with actual holes ! Duvet cover was cheap - worn out and torn.Noisy boiler kept me up all night.Bathroom was clean but shower was not fit for purpose.
Nothing. Will pay more next time and go to a real hotel !
This was the shabbiest room I've seen in years.
shower needed a good clean
Room 11 very noisey due to hot water system
Great location and good food
Hotel dated and requires upgrading, carpets frayed and dirty, communal areas dirty but bed linen and towels clean.
Rooms warm. Free wifi. Attached Indian restaurant very good.
Nobody being there and eventually some appeared to let us in, he had no quality, happy to take our money.
Nothing really, Needed a bed quickly.,
Room very poor - carpet was stained, broken fixtures in bathroom, bed linnen had marks on. Will not stay again!!
The food and service in the restaurant was very good.
Shocking stay. Couldn't move without floor creaking loudly. Carpet had not been hoovered. Shower didn't work. Decoration was tired - cracks/ gaps visible.
Location was fine.
Lack of staff on front desk, bathroom area a bit ucky
Good shower, clean bedroom with good wifi / internet connection, friendly staff. Enjoyed the weekend and would stay there again. Access was easy out of hours
The whole place, dirty, worn out, dated, needs completley refurbishing.
Easy access to the m1 .
Spacious, clean room
Rackety old bed and dirty valance
Staff, felt safe because of electronic entry system firstly to front door, then yet again past the restaurant into the actual hotel part.
Basic but clean accommodation. Good value for money.
The only criticism we would give is that the reception area - the floor walls and stairs are very shabby - lots of chipped paintwork and "ground in dirt floorboards. The paintwork on the staircase needs doing and this is a shame as the property is a period property with lovely old features. The carpet in the bedroom was quite threadbare and again the paintwork was chipped and the walls needed a "wipedown." However, still very good value for money
The breakfast was excellent. The bed was comfortable and the bedding was quite new and clean. The shower was spacious and plenty of hot water. The accommodation was excellent value for money. There was plenty of parking space and the exterior of the property had character and nice mature gardens with seating
Some road noise from M1, room was cold at first, shower room tiles were cracked and loose, TV remote control was faulty, no lift. A disabled person would find this hotel impossible.
Location was very good for our purposes, good breakfast, friendly staff member.
Attention I received Courtesy Staff Clear after hours instructions Help with my Luggage
Didn't like the incomplete fire safety notices, the unacceptable telivision connection, the state of the shower room floor in front of the wash basin, the lack of a shower tray, the confusing external signage and the high price of the breakfast, which, for that reason I declined.
Liked the location and the overall appearance. Room size was good.
Man on the door barely spoke English. Room very small. No hot water. Not cleaned very well. Splashes down the wall in the bathroom where someone had washed hands.
Good parking, Visually good. Restaurant and restaurant service good. Food very nice.
Filthy, damp rooms. Poor customer service. No dining facilities but took money for breakfasts to be served in the room before telling us this/seeing the rooms.
Not enough staff around early morning
We needed a hotel for just one night for a wedding. The rooms were basic but clean. There didn't seem to be any staff in the hotel during the early hours though you could enter and leave freely with a swipe fob. That was the only annoying part as early in the morning we needed extra milk and coffee for a hot drink as there wasn't sufficient in the room. There were no staff around till 9.30. However for the price it was good value and we were happy with our stay
Clean room & great shower
some of the decor was missing in the restaurant, and paint was shabby and old around the central feature.Reception was closed when i arrived and my booking took some time to find on their computer. There was also a language barrier as some of the staff spoke little or no English, the table in the T.V. lounge looked like it had not seen a damp cloth in weeks !!!
rooms were comfy and clean,toiletries/ towels were provided, Quiet location close to Leicester and had a good sized car park
smallish room, a little tired.
good base clean , just what is needed for a short stay, free wifi, good parking
