Hotel is currently being refurbished but the receptionist apologised for that and hoped it wouldn't inconvenience us in anyway, which it didn't.Very friendly helpful staff on reception and on the bar. The rooms were a good size and very comfortable and thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast, and again the staff were very helpful and pleasant.
All of it! Enjoyed our first stay, and had no hesitation in booking again.
Puddles in carpark!
Easy parking. The very friendly and helpful staff, good food in the evening. Relaxed atmosphere.
Breakfast could do with some attention, adequate but not very inspiring! We stayed while the renovations were in progress, so walking to our room was down a corridor splashed with paint and full of warning notices about paint and plaster. However we were prepared for this and hope that when we next stay we shall find it all pristine.
The staff were very friendly and really helped us enjoy our evening.
Myself and partner frequently stay at hotels around the Cardiff area as a treat when we have babysitters and the "spa" is a joke the whole thing smelt damp and dirty, the pool was murky and in full view of approaching guests, the showers were hanging off the wall and either scolding or freezing, definatly would not stay there again as all other hotels we have stayed at are almost the same price and in a completely different league.
not much really
lumpy beds poor breakfast / cheap quality food smelt of sewage in places tired decor cloudy pool over flowing toilets in gym
Rooms are a reasonable size Plenty at breakfast Nice views from the hotel
Location was good for me as I was working in Pontypridd. Staff were friendly & helpful
Wi-fi was dreadful. The pool is tiny. The hotel looks dated but is having some refurbishment. The menu is limited.
We love the cosiness of the Heritage
Excellent breakfast Great location, 10 min walk to train station for Cardiff Clean well stocked rooms

Under renovations and paint smell
The location was good & the staff were friendly & helpful.
The bed was really uncomfortable for us, as the mattress was much too soft. The room was hot & stuffy even though there was no heating on. The food was "just OK".
hotel refurb in progress
Friendly staff - very good restaurant food and service
the bar and restaurant were cold in the evenings
Most of the staff were trying very hard under very difficult circumstances.
I considered my stay a rip-off. The bedrooms were dark and smelt stale and uninviting ("old socks").The volume on the television did not work (the night porter tried his best). The hotel corridors were being decorated and smelt of paint and chemicals. The waitress at breakfast was unfriendly and unhelpful, and the breakfast tables were situated in a dark, pub-like area with insufficient light to read. I could not recommend the hotel to anyone, especially my friends in Porth.
Room was reasonably comfortable.
Service in the restaurant was slow due to only one chef being on duty. When the food came we were disappointed with the quality but ate it as we were so hungry. Building was undergoing renovation work which we did not know until we arrived.
On site gym Good breakfast selection
Poor lighting in car park Run down condition of room (carpet and bathroom)
good location for visiting mid wales, restaurant evening meals very good, clean comfortable room, would be happy to stay here again but would not pay for breakfast in future
unfortunately refurbishments were being carried out while we stayed so corridors were messy and smelt strongly of paint but obviously this couldn't be avoided. Sadly the sauna wasn't working and pool and jacuzzi were cold. Breakfasts were a disappointment porridge made with loads of salt, greasy scrambled eggs etc
breakfast buffet was good fitness area looked good
TV was not working properly carpet was old
The beds were lovely Room although on main drag, was lovely and still very quiet Wedding ran very smoothly Even though they was decorating going on in the corridors it was done discreetly and at no inconvenience to the guests Nice breakfast with lots of choice
Nothing, everything was lovely
Room was nice and clean Breakfast was good.
Poor state of decoration, although being painted currently, Paint everywhere, Fire alarms covered in masking tape, No food after 9.30
staff were doing their best to make our stay as good as possible, breakfast was good and plenty full, sadly this was over shadowed by the works going on......
builders outside our room sanding down walls, we had to walk over cables ?& electrical leads, dust etc from 9am, we lost sleep on first night due to radiator in bathroom making vibrating noise (very loud), then woken early due to builders, not a very restful weekend at all
Staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were comfortable. Food was nice, desserts were delicious.
Was under renovation at the time. Appearance of hall ways etc. wasnt good but staff did their utmost to minimise the disruption. 10.30am checkout - a little early for my taste. Saturday Nights - make sure you book a taxi in advance - long waits otherwise.
We booked a family room which was very spacious. Comfy beds. Clean. Lovely big tv. Plenty of storage space. Breakfast was also good, plenty of choice. Would stay again and make use of the swimming pool next time!.
The rooms are a little dated and are in need of the refurbishment that's currently being undertaken.
restuarant service. food standard of room standard of bar
obviously the re furb going on in the corridoors etc. but things have to be updated like it or not
A very good breakfast
