pool good breakfast
smell in the room noisy extractor in the bathroom not helpful staff closed bar at 10.00 pm closed sauna corridors refurb over the weekend very unconfy and squeaky beds
Arrived Sunday, plasterers at work in corridor outside of room. Persuaded reception to move my room, to ground floor, but painters at work there. Why hotel couldn't schedule work properly and close down a corridor of rooms is beyond me. Bar and breakfast areas dowdy.
good access to major road network A470 and M4. hotels leisure facilities look good, but we did not have time to use them. Breakfast was excellent with good varied choice for all. All the staff were all helpful and efficient.
hotel undergoing refurbishment, but care is given to avoid this being a major problem for guests and are due to last until late November 2014
Bed was comfortable
wifi signal too weak to connect in my room
The food is nice and the staff are very friendly and helpful
Place under total refurbishment - would have liked to have something mentioned on the website The WiFi is almost non-existent - real pain when you're trying to work This is more a 2 Star hotel
It was easy to check in and out and had a lovely night with my girlfriend. Breakfast was good and quality of beds was excellent!
The walls had bern re plastered so hallway looked a bit unfinished but repairs and updates need to be done and was made aware od them begore booking
the food, the atmosphere
only one towel for two people
Food was good Staff where very attentive and pleasent
The accommodation is tired and a bit dated. Room smelt Smokey with cigarette burn on window ledge. Pool area and changing facilities could do with a face lift.
Staff were nice, restaurant nice.
Bed very hard, leisure complex a dump, pool water milky, everywhere needed a good clean, hole's in walls and doors to the car park, sauna and steam room not working, the picture they use to advertise must have been taken 10 year's ago, very misleading. We were booked for 2 nights but left after 1 as no sleep because of broken guttering and the leak banged on a plastic box outside our window.
THE YOGURT ATE FOR BREAKFAST
- OVERPRICED -POOR CLEANING CONDITIONS (very dusty) -POOR LUMINOSITY IN THE ROOM -NO WIFI CONNECTION WORKING (in any part of the hotel) - the apologise for disruption apparently due to ongoing works (no sign of this though), probably they have the intention to but there is nothing ongoing at the moment
The meal was very good and served fairly quickly
They had decorating work going on which should have been advised at time of booking
beer and bacon ok
plasterers, dirt, nothing worked in leisure centre, menu written well but failed on all levels to deliver. person on next table waited nearly 1 hour for a cheese board, booking mixed up,manager went on a break during major face lift which should have taken place during a closure. receptionist deserved a pay rise dealing with the fall out. due to queue for complaints checkout took an age. to sum up a lost weekend and £250 pounds I'll never see again. all my relatives in Pontypridd were impressed with my review too. my wife sent you a similar review by e mail and I guess you will dump that as well sorry but the truth hurts
Situation was ideal for visiting family.
It was in very poor condition with decorators in and dust everywhere on hallway stairs and landing. The standard of room was certainly not worth the money. Very disappointed.
resteraunt & leisure centre staff friendly & helpful
Refurbishments - holes in wall of swimming pool & sauna not operating. Problem with the bathroom - ran bath and tried to turn the tap off but the shower came on & would not turn off. Staff came & tried to stop it but it leaked all night so couldn't have a shower in the morning without the fear of causing further problems!
the lovely people who could not do enough for you
Staff helpful in finding a replacement room when I informed them of the flea infestation
Hotel in need of refit very shabby, Main problem fleas in carpet, Did not enjoy breakfast as greasy
Clean and tidy. Position suited us.Food ok but.....
Facilities are very worn. Hotel has good potential but needs refurb. Equipment in Fitness suite needs replacing it is positively dangerous.
Room was clean and beds comfortable Staff nice and helpful
Very minimal variety for breakfast charging for kids beds made the stay too expensive
Clean, comfortable room, with everything you are likely to need, and nothing of what you don't need. Quality of the food was excellent.
WiFi only available in the bar area, and was a bit flaky.
Staff were very helpful rooms clean and tidy had very enjoyable meal
Hotel is a bit tatty could do with lick of paint and some of the word work outside needs replacing . But overall the stay was very enjoyable
The gentleman receptionist who booked me in. The waiter who treated me like a paying customer, and the quality of the food.
No option for an early breakfast, before 8:00,at the weekend. The waiter allowed me to enter the restaurant for a bowl of cereal while he was setting up. But on the Sunday morning I was told by a waitress that I could not come in until 8:00 at the earliest. Not much use when you are working during the weekend. The hallway carpets are badly worn. There was a smell of damp in the hall near my room. The reception area looks very dated as are all the placques which date back to 10 years or more.
Good food choices. Bedrooms basic but clean. Refurbished bathroom with a powerful shower. Hair dryer provided.
Furnishings a little dated & dark.
The room was dirty there were stains above the bed - the bathroom smelt - no heating and only one quilt I was frozen and it is only september the lamp did not work nor did the wall lamps - breakfast was in a grotty area that wa smore like a road side ccafe than a restaurant - applaing palce and very bad valie for meony wish I had gone to a B and B
Beds we're comfy the night staff on the 20th September were amazing and super friendly
The morning staff on the Sunday the 21st were terrible and very rude didn't know we had to b out by half 10 and the reception woman came in threatening to charge for another room such a shame coz we would of had an all round lovely time if it wasn't for that woman
