Nestled on the edge of the New Forest National Park, the Avon Causeway Hotel is just 1 mile from Bournemouth Airport. With a bar and a restaurant, it is 10 minutes’ drive from Christchurch.

Occupying a privilege position in Westcliff, Bournemouth, this contemporary-style hotel is just a short stroll away from the beautiful coastline, pier, town centre and Bournemouth International Centre...

Opened on Queen Victoria's coronation day in June 1838, the Royal Bath Hotel was the first hotel in Bournemouth. It offers 3 hotel restaurants, a health spa and lovely sea views.

Owners very friendly
Close to airport Quiet
Peaceful family run hotel
Difficulty in commuting. Unable to have dinner at hotel.
Not much really. The rural setting was quiet though and our experience of local hotels in the past has been discouraging. So we opted for a complete change.
Not really clean enough. Would not return.
Leaving the next morning at 5.00am!
It's down a tiny lane dirt track and pot holes It's filthy carpets stain in rooms Cobwebs and dead flies in room No TV Not enough tea coffee milk, and not sealed packets Bed linen ok but ours had blood stains on Shower leaks on floor and never cleaned under the plug Proprietors have not answered our email complaint or acknowledged it! We have stayed in several booking .coms and given real positive views but this place was a disgrace and should not be 4 star rated at all. No food there available
Lovely house great setting
Mid oct no heating in bed room very cold!!!
Location to Airport
It is a beautiful house with good size rooms. Lovely countryside location.
- No sign posts (which would have made finding the place much easier!) - Bathroom was in need of a good clean, and toilet was in need of a good flush!!! Plus cobwebs & dust throughout bedroom and bathroom. - We were told not to use the power shower past halfway as water sprays...suggest getting a shower screen or curtain then!? - Lack of basic amenities, such as spoons, only 1 sugar sachet, 1 bottle of water (despite double occupancy). - Not particularly welcoming atmosphere.
Stunning country house, good facilities, friendly staff and good location
Location was lovely and owner was very friendly and helpful
Owners were friendly and it was "homely". The breakfast was nice. Setting was good for the airport or business park there and was in a super quiet location. I would like to recommend it but the owners need to get their act together a bit then it could be great.
It stank of dogs and I am a dog owner with three dogs. Was quite tardy decor wise which could have been sorted so easily. Ramshackle comes to mind, it was also not really well cleaned with dead flies, dust, cobwebs everywhere. No TV in the room and very basic facilities. I think the description was wrong and should be changed and overall was expensive at £75 not including breakfast it was in the £50 B&B range to be fair as it currently stands. As fair as I could tell there was no restaurant.
Out of the way, lovely setting and hosts. If you like the quiet country but near everything, this is the place.
It is a home. If you want.a hotel this is not the place
Very friendly & welcoming owners, who run a very nice rural ( but not too removed ) B&B / Guesthouse. Very close to Bournemouth Airport too! Make they're own cereals, do a nice cooked breakfast. All in all a great nights stay, wholly recommended. Much better than a bigger / chain hotel, and way better value!!!
Lovely country feel, comfortable bed, large bedroom
No allowance for early breakfast no alternative offered. Had to leave for airport by 7.15 am
Unfortunately the owners were not very welcoming. We made a reservation to include out 15 year old daughter. I called ahead to ensure there was no confusion as he booking had not gone through correctly. The owner was fine on the phone, however upon arrival proceeded to argue with us informing us that our 15 year old was infact an adult! Our room cost £110 and did not even include a breakfast! I would not stay here again at all.
The Heronshaw House is a beautiful property in a fabulous location & the owners are lovely. My bed was very comfortable & I slept well.
The 'luxury' promised on the website left Heronshaw House a long time ago. I stayed in the single room & it was filthy! Dead flies & live spiders, nasty 70's furniture, grubby carpet that was torn creating a trip hazzard in to the shower room, blown light bulbs, a sink that was falling off the wall & the shower definitely hadn't been cleaned for a while. No TV but I was able to access the wi-fi (thankfully) This overlooked a veggie patch that hadn't seen a gardener for many years ... I decided not to eat breakfast - another room with a carpet that had seen much better days - I couldn't get out of there quick enough! Over-priced, dirty, tired decor & I'd really struggle to recommend anyone stay there but please bear in mind I stayed in the single room - the other rooms may be worth every penny of your hard earned cash but sadly the single room definitely isn't.
Our hosts, Jenny & Craig, went out of their way to make us feel welcome and nothing was too much trouble for them. The breakfast was lovely - pork from their own pigs, eggs from their chickens and cereals made by Jenny that were truly wonderful!
This is a lovely place to stay, unique, friendly and classy. One of the best hotel breakfasts I have ever had. A lovely, friendly atmosphere with great personality.
A lovely house in a quiet location, and yet only 10 minutes from excellent beaches and towns/villages. Hosts very welcoming and helpful. Highly Recommend.
The location is ideal for the airport. It is also peaceful and we had the run of the house with plenty of space. The food was very good and the proprietor was chatty. If you want a quiet break or something near the airport it is ideal from this perspective. There are not any tvs in the room but there is one in a nice lounge, if you need it.
Lack of attention to detail. The rooms were not serviced between our first and second night and although there was tea making equipment, a biscuit or two would have been a nice touch. A cooked breakfast means just that, with no cereal. Similarly a cereal breakfast is just that. We did not ask for both as we did not need it but it is unusual not to have the option automatically. At £7.50 extra for either, however, the price was reasonable.
It wad very quiet and the location was lovely.
My son,13, wad given a cot mattress on the floor. Not what was expected. The shower had no door and the cleanliness left a bit to be desired.
Owners were nice people but not very organised.
Dirty tired rooms, uncomfortable bed, cobwebs galore, worn linen and carpets also tea and coffee in room sparce breakfast not included in price and very disorganised. Very overpriced would have been better to have stayed in a travel lodge and that's saying something.
Management friendly good for one night
Smell of dogs around the place
Good location for where we needed to be. Comfortable bed
We chose Heronshaw because the the website information talked about breakfast in the dining room and complimentary afternoon tea, which sounded good value. In reality, our booking was room only, with a kettle and a teabag!
Very friendly welcome, lovely location, beautiful garden
Plumbing in adjacent room was very noisy through the thin drywall partition
