Location.

Where to start. Arrived & booking was incorrect, had to wait whilst they sorted it. Rooms were tatty & jaded, towels were more like sandpaper, toilet seat and system was broken, shower hardly worked, cup on tea maker was unwashed from the previous occupier etc. As for breakfast, service was very slow, cold buffet was empty, hot food was poor, coffee pot lid was broken & leaked everywhere. A complaint to the reception just brought the comment "I'll bring it to the managers attention when he gets in" and no more was done. All in all a very poor hotel all round

Accommodating staff, excellent breakfasts, nice and quiet.

The staff was very friendly and professional. Food at breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice for both cold and hot food. The executive room we booked was big enough to be able to have extra space for a baby cot and still be comfortable. The room was clean with a surprisingly comfortable bed too.

Not very flash from outside and rooms a bit outdated but other than that it was all good.

The spa should be kept a secret because it is a little gem! Some of the staff seemed to be new, and a little unsure, but tried very hard. Do get a new printer for the reception; the staff should not have to be embarassed and customers kept waiting by a reluctant piece of machinery. We really enjoyed our stay and the soom was spacious and clean. THANK YOU.

Very clean and breakfast was excellent

Although the room was a little old fashioned, and the tv certainly was, it's position was ideal. The dinner we had on our first evening was excellent. Unfortunately there was a wedding party on the Saturday which went on very late into the night obviously keeping us awake. Breakfast were extensive and very good.

The hand basins could do with being cleaned underneath as well as the top. On the subject of hand basins I think in my opinion they could be better laid out, I.E., go back to normal hot and cold taps, and put the shelf to one side so the hand basin can be used with much more ease. I also think if anyone wants a nice quiet relaxing meal in the dining room make sure you ask to see if any function is going off in the next room. These are my observations and are not complaints. P.S. get rid of those cushions on the beds and use pillows.

Due to having two large functions on the night of our stay the Restaurant was not open but meals were available at the Bar. Unfortunately it would appear that the staff were over extended on that evening resulting in: the wrong starters being brought to the table and despite our pointing this out nothing was done to rectify it. Eventually we were told that the incorrect starter would be deducted from the bill but this was not done as it was still itemised when we went to pay it next morning. the main course was a very basic rib-eye steak ,well done when we asked for medium rare. Despite this disappointment our stay was enjoyed and breakfast was to be commended.

In future, if large functions are booked it might be as well not to provide evening meals for guests to avoid tarnishing the reputation of the Restaurant.

The gym and service when I arrived

Very dated. The bin in my room had not been cleaned and there was hair from a previous customer on the pillow. The breakfast service was dreadful. The computer in reception for guests did not work. All in all a general lack of care.
