The bed was comfortable. It was far from the town centre. It is an old building and the plubing was very noisy. As I was on the second floor, the hot water taps ran cold for 5 minutes (I timed them) beofre any hot water came through.

My husband and I come to the Skipton Beer festival every year. The herriot hotel suits us perfectly. The walk down the canal at the back of the hotel is a lovely way into the town and we usually have a wander around the market before having lunch and then on to the festival. We stayed in the new part of the hotel this year. The room was beautiful, clean, quiet and comfortable. It was our first experience of a wet room and my husband was particularly impressed with the space! As usual the service at breakfast and the breakfast its self were wonderful. Well worth paying the extra.

All of the staff were really helpful and polite. I was quite stressed out as I had an assessment day and job interview the next day. They booked the taxi for me, booked my table for dinner, gave me a wake-up call and they let me use the printer behind the reception desk. Made the experience a lot less stressful, thank you so much! I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

The situation right by the train station. The striking decor. Comfortable rooms. Close to Skipton High Street. Closeness to the canal for walking. The breakfast room was full on the Saturday and our order was overlooked, making breakfast a lengthier meal than we would have liked.

We had never been to Skipton before and it was chosen because of its nearness to the Yorkshire Dales. The hotel was right across from the railway station and on the side of the Manchester-Leeds Canal, where we both enjoyed strolling. The staff were friendly and welcoming, the bar area was a relaxing space and the dining room well furnished and pleasant. There was an excellent courtyard patio area with good seating where you could spend a pleasant hour or two. Over the weekend it was my husband's birthday and it was a lovely surprise when we went into the dining room to see our table decorated with balloons, we were also given a complimentary bottle of wine with our meal from the management. All in all we had a great weekend. The only downside was that there is no lift to the bedrooms, but it wasn't too much of a problem.

Comfortable bed, modern room, staff very welcoming, friendly and helpful.Located alongside a canal which provided a pleasant, short stroll to the town centre. The shower room / toilet lacked shelving in a practical location for toiletries. Also inside the shower there was nowhere to place shower gel / hair shampoo.

The staff were welcoming and very helpful and friendly. I would definately recommend a stay here not only for business but also for a weekend away. The food in the restaurant was good and reasonably priced as was the room. The location was excellent pratically in the town centre and across the road from Skipton train station.

We liked the spaciousness and the cleanliness of the room. The staff were very friendly and always someone there if you needed them, but didn't 'push' themselves onto you-which we like! Overall a very lovely weekend! Thankyou! Only one little 'niggle' and that was the toilet in our room! Made some very funny noises when it was flushed so we daren't flush it during in the night in case we disturbed any other guests.

Location good, friendly staff, excellent Yorkshire breakfast, plenty of parking. Public areas not as clean as they ought to be, some peculiar smells in the bar area, and throughout the resident's areas including rooms (lingering cooking odours). Evening meal not up to scratch, and the real ale was not kept well. Food and beer expensive.

I didn't stay - it was reserved in my name for a colleague but I did go up to the room and I did eat there. It was clean and quite friendly. The atmosphere was good. Room stated had dvd in it but actually didn'T....when I said something when my friend checked out the response should have been "sorry" instead it was a list of excuses.....

Staff went out of their way to be friendly, helpful and interested. WiFi was free and worked well. Very modern bathroom in en-suite. Room itself a little small (but it was a single). Perfectly situated for the station It lacked a lift.

The bed was huge and they had tea/coffee facilities and the capacity to gain enterance after midnight. It's location is really central and the bar looks lovely, although we didn't eat there the food looked fantastic. Inside the shower needed a good clean as it had a bit of limescale, and like most hotels you could hear other people going about their daily business to the point you can hear the toilet flush in the next room as it's rather loud.
