A bit far for the center, too old fashioned interiors and generally too expensive for what it provided.

After spending a very chilly day in York, we were very relieved to find our room at Heworth Court was very warm and cosy and we sank into comfortable beds with spotless white bed linen.

It was in a great location close to York city centre - easy walking distance. Staff were friendly and helpful. It was extremely hot so we had to turn all the radiators off (one in room & one in bathroom) so the first night was a bit unpleasant but the next was slightly cooler! I don't like opening windows to let the heat out so if the hotel could turn the heating down a couple of degrees or more it would be good.

The staff in the breakfast room were first class Ibooked this hotel on the net and followed it up with a phone call requesting a room in the main hotel and not in an annexe, they assured me that this was not a problem. On arrival we found that we had been allocated a room in a courtyard at the furthest point away from the main hotel.I Spoke to the receptionist who seemed very off hand and was told the hotel was fulland that there was no chance of moving us .With their stated policy of no refunds on cancellations we were left with no alternative. The room we discovered had a bathroom which was situated on an external wall with no insulation ,if the door was opened you were met by an icy blast which lowered the room temperature,on running a bath the water pressure was so poor it took 20 minutes to fill all this combined with having to wear out door clothing to go to breakfast thoroughly spoilt a long awaited weekend. The reception failed in every aspect of our stay, asked to book a taxi forgot about it etc. Im not sure that I would book over the internet again

We found the 10 minutes walk to the city centre easy to acheive and was as described, Breakfast was lovely and the waitress was pleasant and polite. We found the room small and dated in decor! The heating didnt work in our room, we complianed when asked about it the receptioninst admitted she forgotten us we caught her as she was leaving and she brought us a fan heater, which to be honest wasnt the luxury we paid for.

I loved the look of the entire place it was very nice indeed, a perfect blend of old traditional décor inside the main building which complimented with its location within the historic city of York. Very Nice Mix of Modern and Traditional style within the room I stayed in and I found it very comfortable. The staff where very friendlily and approachable. Love this place and would gladly stay again and will recommend to all my friends . Only Negative point id like to say is that the room got fairly warm during the night.

We booked Heworth Court as our trip was very last minute and it was one of the few B&Bs that were still available. So pleased we did though! We stayed in the chandelier room and it was lovely. The staff were all friendly and we were even offered a bacon sandwich when we arrived late for breakfast! The b&b is a 15 minute walk to the centre although the busses seemed very regular and I would definitely recommed staying here.

The room we had was quite comfortable and for the price we paid the whole package was quite reasonable. Staff are friendly and helpful. Parking is on site and its free! We only had breakfast on the days we stayed (the choice was fairly good as well) and it was enough to set us up until lunchtime. Quite liked the whisky bar and the prices were reasonable too. The hotel is not too far from the centre so we walked to and from the centre of York but there is a local bus to and from the centre if needed. We found the electric shower in the room to be a little underpowered but for a short stay its fine

We arrived slightly earlier than check in time but were allowed to go into our booked room. As we went in though we found out that the room had recently been painted and the fumes were strong, but even before we called reception they called and apologised for the inconvenienced and offered to switch us to another room. They subsequently upgraded us to a superior room and it was lovely - such comfy bedding and it was overall very pleasant to stay in. Reception were kind and friendly. Location was slightly a bit far off from the city centre, but not much of a walk really - maybe about 10, 15 minutes and in a rather pleasant neighbourhood. Comfortable shoes recommended if you're planning to walk back and forth from the centre. A tad bit too expensive if we had ended up with the standard double room, but with our upgraded room it was a much better deal.
