Good Hotel, clean and spacious room, very quiet location.

Not so close to Chipping Norton, half hour by foot to the closest bus stop.

The hotel itself was scruffy and cold. The building is an old stately home with possibly the least sympathetic treatment of any building I've ever been in. Didn't dare try the food.

It's a beautiful old building on the outside with lovely grounds to walk around. There is a spa on the premises which looked good although we did not use.

The staff where a little bit clueless at times and frequently did not know what was going on abd were cert slow at theur jobs. We booked dinner through the website but when we arrived that information had not been passed on and so took an age to explain that to staff. We then found that this had not guaranteed us a spot in the nice restaurant but rather in something that looked more like a school hall. The hotel is rather worn and tired in places.

The bar and food in other hotel located on premises was good.

On check in we were given a long set of instructions of how to get to our rooms, no help was offered with bags. The rooms were located a long way from reception. Our bathroom was dirty, soap dispenser fell off wall and window in room had a large crack in it with draft. There was no restaurant in the hotel, we had to walk through to another hotel located on the premises taking over 10 minutes with two elder people and a baby. The hotel was not located in Chipping Norton.

The actual building ,architecture and setting were delightful. We were there for golf the following day and had no idea that the CrownePlaza was next door or we'd certainly have stayed there instead.

The room was ghastly, tiny and not dissimilar to university halls of residence. - it didn;'t resemble the picture on the web-site at all.We needed to trek down miles of horrible corridors to get to it too. All in all a mistake!

Location, views, walks around the grounds, beautiful building

Pool had 25 person limit so we had to wait for use and then didn't have much time to enjoy it. Would of been nice to be informed when checking in that this could be the case

My husband went to this place as a school in the 1950's. It was a bit of nostalgia. We enjoyed the walk and seeing things now over what it had been,. We enjoyed our rooms & seeing the New "old place".

Bit of a maze, but then again it was a lovely maze as the setting is amazing.

The house is beautiful and the grounds Fab. We booked a basic room as that is all that was available (we were staying the following night in the Crown Plaza). It was basic and down in the basement but it did not deter from our weekend experience. I would certainly go again but definately a better room.... Staff were excellent and could not have done enough for us. Well done to them.

As we were down in the basement, We had a really bad night with a group of lads next door who seemed to be fighting? . it was a hell of a trek to get to the restaurants and bars etc. Fortunately we went through the back door which was the only good thing to be near the Spa. It would not deter me from coming again. Would definately have a better room

Excellent venue for anyone on a golfing break

The Terrace,looks a bit shabby and food a little like an all inclusive Spanish resort.

Gym and leisure facilities were one of the best i've seen in a hotel, big plus point. Grounds were very nice and impressive

Room were a little disappointing, small and dare I say basic. After the fantastic first impression you get of the building, the rooms were a letdown.

Lovely place with plenty to do and lovely views for just walking and enjoying the peace.

It's very far away from society so if you want a drink and to go out for a meal your only option (unless you like really long walks or don't mind driving) is the restaurant on site which is rather expensive although there are deals. The service in the restaurant was pretty poor but the food was pretty good. There is a pub in the village which is apparently really good though! I advise you to ring the place up for booking as they do a deal of bed and breakfast for £59 which isn't stated on the site!

Large grounds able to walk round/lovely views.

Evening dinner could have been better and not all staff in restaurant knew exactly what a dish comprised of. Example-- we were told the soup was parsnip and sweet potato, but not that it had curry in so was sent back.

Finding Heythrop Park was a nightmare. Signage is poor and not lit, so finding the hotel late at night was hard work especially because the Crowne Plaza (not the same hotel) is right next to it and all taxis try to drop you off at that one. Also we were offered a voucher to make breakfast cheaper at check in, but it wasn't made clear that we could only take advantage of the offer at check in so we paid far too much for breakfast on our second morning - breakfast is not good value at full price.

The tiles around the swimming pool are very dangerous, to the extent that I slipped and fell.

Location. Rooms in main building are reasonable but need upgrading décor wise.

Small rooms in side wings are like broom cupboards -not as good as premier in or budget hotel-very poor.
