The bed was comfortable.
Room was far too hot, had to open window all night which brought lots of noise from car park next to window. Dirty, crusty socks on chair in room upon arrival. No croissants in continental breakfast. Undercooked sausages in breakfast. No offer of free wifi.
Value for money and a fairly decent location close to the A23 and brighton. The staff were friendly and the food in the restaurant was really nice. We didn't have dinner but we had afternoon tea and breakfast both of which were really nice. Also the bedrooms were really clean.
There was a smell of drains in the reception which wasn't very nice and the bed was extremely uncomfortable. Quite hard and the pillows weren't great so I woke up with a stiff neck. Good job we were only there for 1 night.
The evening meals are unbeatable, lovely food served by friendly staff. The discover Sussex package is really good value.
The staff were extremely helpful and polite. The bar area was nice and relaxed where I could easily work and the table service was excellent. The only down side was the wifi did not really work most of my stay. I would stay again though.
quiet, friendly staff nice room
location remote expensive breakfast
Hotel a bit dated
We arrived too late for an evening meal but the receptionist rang a nearby pub, booked us a table and gave excellent directions. Very helpful!
The mattress was lumpy and very uncomfortable because the springs were broken on one side of the bed. Did not sleep well as a result. Receptionist was apologetic but did not take up my suggestion of reducing the bill.
Warm, friendly and breakfast really good.
Evening meal, just wished we had gone out.
Rooms comfortable and cosy. Nice English Breakfast. Free wifi in the whole of the hotel.
Noise in the corridor and from other rooms disturbing... felt like the walls and ceiling were made from paper.
it was good for what we wanted so we could visit my mother
wedding reception on bar area full and noisy children running all over the hotel
EVERYTHING But particularly the food is such an excellent standard everything was clean the staff were excellent cant fault it Comfort of bed very good depends on whether you like hard or soft mattress we both found it good
Nothing we could think of at all
I have stayed here twice now. As others have said it is a little worn around the edges (hand rails etc) but the rooms are very clean and fresh and the Discover Sussex is a great deal as the food is top notch.
Nothing really. Needs a spot of paint and a few new handles but other than that it is spot on.
Reception staff helpful with reproducing invoice with correct company details. Very pleasant bar man Very nice value for money dinner, and fab fresh full English breakfast Room and public areas extremely clean
Terrible wifi, couldn't even send or receive any emails or i messages - tried in my room and the bar, left me unable to do any work The hotel is just a bit tired & dated: -my room was a bit old fashioned with extremely poor lighting and the lighting in the bathroom was worse. The bathroom decor was extremely dated but the worse thing was no shower attachment on the taps, only a fixed shower on the wall.
The breakfast was reasonable
The reception and bar area looks old and dirty. It looks like a poor NHS retirement home. Needs a complet makeover. Rooms very basic. there are better hotels that are cheaper.
Food in the restaurant was excellent, the hotel is very nice and in beautiful surrounds.
Our room heater was on FULL and we could not turn it down. Despite being November it was like a sauna, we told the staff and they switched the hotel heating off at 11pm to allow the room to cool down
The room was of a high quality and the staff were very pleasent and the location was superb. Great value for money.
After weekend visiting family in Haywards Heath, this hotel was a perfect price and location for Sunday night stop over. Food was simply fantastic. Staff were excellent.
Had a great time staying here , warm & friendly staff , nice sized & very clean room & the food was amazing !
Superb food and staff couldn't do more to help you.
Bar area a bit old fashioned and not comfortable
Staff were really friendly
When we returned with our party the bar was closed when it should have been open. We asked the staff for drinks & a male staff member didnt appear totally happy about doing it.
It's quiet. The staff is nice
We arrived from Portugal a little after 9 pm and they couldn't even provide a sandwich which I think is unacceptable no matter how many stars the Hotel has. The person at the reception desk should have a list of restaurants in the area that close later than 9 o'clock to give to customers in the same situation.
Location Hospitable Staff worked hard
Rooms near reception affected by function room guests on weekend Corridors need updating - looking tired
The breakfast was exceptional. The room was large, clean and had every conceivable facility we needed. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Only that the shower kept going icy cold every few seconds obviously due to other people using the shower.
The staff were very polite and helpful. We very much enjoyed Our stay and would consider staying again.
I was not keen on the noise in the early hours of the morning. Then again it was a Saturday night and I believe there was an event going on.
Good location. Clean, tidy and very good value. Helpful staff. Would definitely stay again.
