Hickstead Hotel  

Unfortunately, not a long enough stay to get the full benifit of Hickstead, but had a great nights sleep, staff were excellent, and the breakfast top notch. Will definately return.

Spacious room, good facilities, convenient for business in Sussex.

First time to the hotel obtained from the internet. All the staff were so friendly and helpful, especially the restaurant manageress. The room was ideal for us.The food was lovely. We would return to this hotel.

Food was very good, as was the menu selection in the evening. If I'm being picky, I would say the ambiance in the restaurant was a little harsh. Lighting was a bit over the top and if travelling with wife or partner would lack intimacy.

Bar area small and if, like me you dislike football, then due to the position and location of the TV there was no getting away from it. In my opinion a hotel such as this should not have the TV on in the bar area. After all your room has a perfectly good TV and has room service if you need refreshment dUring the match and can't be bothered to go down to the bar

Very friendly and professional staff, welcoming and helpful. We booked a one night 'discover sussex' package which was excellent value. We were especially lucky to have a room at the end of the new wing of the hotel which had lovely views across the fields to the South Downs. It was a shame we were only staying there for one night. Would certainly stay there again if we were in the area.

One tiny little improvement - it would have been useful to have a light in the entrance/wardrobe area of the room. It was difficult to see the contents of our case while on the luggage stand or inside the wardrobe. However this is definitely not a reason to not stay here!

Staff were welcoming, helpful and friendly. Lovely outlook while being close to main road to Brighton. Comforts of a hotel: lounge, restaurant & bar with modern approach to bedroom standards.

The corridor area decor was tired. Although the standards were good, it didn't live up to the images on the web site. The restaurant menu was a little limited, though the food was good & well presented. The service was good but everything just lacked a little finesse to meet the mark. The place is good but does not live up to expectations.

Very easy for us location wise as we were working in Brighton and Horsham rooms clean and reasonable size ideal for a business stop over we stayed 2 nights.did not eat at the hotel so cannot comment on quality or service reception staff pleasant and helpful.

Only thing we did not like was the smell when we entered reception this we were assured was the local sewage works which we cannot blame the hotel for.
