location bus stop right outside to get into edinburgh
Poor selection and poor quality for cooked breakfast.
Parking was a big incentive to use this hotel. The room was very comfortable and the hotel was convenient for travelling into the city centre.
Breakfast was a bit basic but there was plenty of it. It became very busy in the breakfast area.
Location good for getting into the city and plenty of eating options close by. Availability of extra tea, coffee and milk for room on request.
Would be enhanced by mini fridge in rooms.
Walking distance from the Yacht. 15-20 mins by bus to princes street and the royal mile.
Carpet and bathroom cleanliness
My husband needed to visit his birthplace. We were well received in a clean and well run hotel and the breakfast was copious every day. Staff were unfailingly polite and helpful and housekeeping in our room was impeccable. I hope we can visit again soon, both Leith and Edinburgh.
When checking in, another couple had wanted a twin room (which was all we could book at the time). As it happened, we wanted a double, so the reception staff swapped it for us, which was a bonus. Good bathroom, shower, tea/coffee facilities and telly.
The price. It was an awful lot of money for what you really got. Perhaps we're too used to the value-for-money we find at home. Breakfast was generally very good, but not huge fans of the ready-made scrambled eggs.
Location, Service and friendly, helpful staff.
very limited hot food choice for breakfast.
We had a great weekend stay recently in this hotel. Couldn't fault it but we did pick a very popular time to stay with the Fringe on which bumped the price up considerably. But, still a lot cheaper than other places in the area. We would definitely return for a stay here as very easy and regular public transport into the City.
nice & handy,clean
I was given 2 keys that wouldn't open my room & I had to go back to the reception twice.
Staff helpful with directions, bus service very regular and stop outside of hotel.
Carpet in bedroom in need of cleaning.
Most things. Great location
Price......because it was Festival Time in Edinburgh.
Pleasant staff. Access to city via many different bus routes. Walking distance to Leith Walk and Ocean Terminal.
Bed was too short and pillows not comfortable.
Buses right outside, friendly and helpful staff. Across road and up a bit from shopping and royal yacht britannica.
50ml spirits at the bar (25ml would be better). bar/lounge area too small. Breakfast area too small for number of people eating at the peak time.
Great bus service right outside the hotel. Staff friendly and competent. Would recommend to friends.
Pricey but it was Fringe Festival time.
The ease of getting bus straight into city centre.
Comfortable room Good breakfast Very clean
Some staff abrupt Some noisy guests at 1a.m
Location, value for money, security features (alarmed windows you can open a little), air-con, good quality bed-linens, free standing shower, free wi-fi, cleanliness, adequate breakfast, helpful courteous staff.
Location, value for money, well maintained.
THIS WAS A BRILLIANT HOTEL,GOOD LOCATION ON THE OUTSKIRTS BUT GREAT TRANSPORT TO THE CITY CENTER. THE STAFF COULDN'T DO ENOUGH FOR US. WOULD RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL
For me the Holiday Inn Express brand always delivers ! Friendly staff, comfortable hotel with a more than adequate free breakfast. Well located next to Ocean Terminal next to bars and restaurants with an excellent bus service. Will certainly use this hotel again in our next visit to Edinburgh
Space in the room. No noise from other guests. Breakfast is a bonus. Bath Towels great as you usually only get a small towel.
Price as we have stayed here for a much cheaper price £69, that is all this hotel is worth not £95.Stayed in nicer Holiday inn expresses. Room was Tired Pillows for the bed where dreadful even though there where two options.
Rooms were clean and fresh. Breakfast provided was good with varied choices. Although location was not central, the bus stop was right outside hotel. Parking was a bonus. Would stay there again.
Was a little surprised at the cost, compared to a HI in the states, but in line with other hotels in Edinburgh. Missed not having the wide selection of restaurants nearby that would be present in downtown, but with a 10 minute walk there were some nice places.
Nothing all was fine
