Very friendly and helpful staff I thought the cooked breakfasts were of a poor quality..,.only 3 items of sausages eggs and beans were available...no bacon ?? no tomatoes no mushroooms no hash browns. The cooked breakfast's were the only let down to an otherwise very good two day stay.

I choose this hotel as I have stayed a few times before. However I was very annoyed that they no longer have smoking rooms. No one bothered to tell me despite my request for a smoking room by e mail. Otherwise the hotel is in an excellent location and the staff are freindly and very helpful. No smoking rooms!

It was conveinient to Edinburgh city, by having the bus outside the hotel. There were a number to places locally to eat in the evening, although we had to ask before being recommended where to go to. On arriving, we entered out room to find it cold. We tried to get the heating going but the air conditioning which should blow hot as well as cold, only blew out cold air. Complained to reception who gave us a heater. Although this did help, it was an extra item to have to manouver around in a rather compact room. The tea/coffee facilities were very limited to just 2 cups of tea and two of coffee with only 2 milks supplied. We went down to the bar one evening. My husband had a pint of Boddingtons and I had a whiskey and bottle of coke from the shop and it came to over £10, found this disgusting. The breakfast was very disappointing, scrambed eggs were ok, sausages ok but no bacon on offer. Also only grapefruit was on offer as fruit to have with yoghurt, surely orange /melon could have been offered. As i dislike grapefruit and wonted to carry on my diet I struggled with the choice of food on offer.

Everything is at hand. I like also the fact they have introduced hot snack food. It is only pizza, which unfortunately I cannot eat, due to a cheese allergy, but, a good idea none the less. Could do with soft music in bar to create an atmosphere.

modern comfortable hotel with friendly, efficient, smartly dressed staff located in a most convenient location; impressed in particular by reception staff who were smart, friendly, courteous and efficient; beds comfortable and room well maintained;good value for money three minor niggles 1. slightly loose door handle on bathroom door 2..I am reknowned for my hearty appetite but the scrambled egg on day one was so bad that left half, which put me off eating scrambled egg for the remainder of the trip. 3.would have been nice to have bacon at breakfast notwithstanding these minor niggles enjoyed my stay

The holiday inn express edinburgh waterfront was first class. The rooms were large and well presented and the bathroom was excellent. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was more than ample. For the price i paid it was fantastic value, i would recomend this venue to anybody, it really was first class.

The standard of service is good and the quality throughout. Breakfast included is a big bonus as it gets you going whatever you are doing in your trip. The TV is old fashion and not loud enough. Tricky avoid running into pay per view at first.
