Score from 566 reviews Excellent
this hotel is v easy to get to from the city by pass and you can park in the hotel car park which is a big plus in Edinburgh! The rooms are standard for this type of hotel,ie no frills but have all you need for a short stay. The staff are all pleasant and helpful and breakfast was satisfactory. It was v easy to get a bus into the centre and there are lots of places to eat near the hotel. We will stay there again.
tThe shower was a bit unreliable as regards temp control ie v hot one minute then cold but this was prob due to lots of people using their shower so we did not complain!!
FREE WIFI EXCELLENT BREAKFAST IDEAL FOR ACCESS TO BRITANNIA YACHT COMFORTABLE,CLEAN & COSY 7 QUIET ROOM WITH EVERYTHING YOU NEED
Loved the location, loved the service from the staff, loved the accommodation
Didn't like the lack of power points in the room - wanted to use hairdryer and straighteners and had to ask for an extension cable as the point is on the opposite end of the room from the mirror - no big deal but not well thought out. could be fixed by a mirror above the desk area and some decent lighting.
Across the road from ocean terminal and next to bus stop.
I find its expensive compared to others.
Excellent location. Plenty of good restaurant and coffee shops and good bus service to Edinburgh Centre. Easy to locate.
Staff very helpful nothing was too much trouble.Breakfast excellent and superb value for money good choice of food.Would not hesitate to recommend hol inns
No complaints at all!!!!
Car parking free.
Heating from upperwall above bed. No heating in bathroomto dry towels.
Location was handy. Good shower. Comfortable bed.
Easy to get to if driving from the West. Bye pass the town centre. Excellent parking, can use Ocean Terminal. Good frequent bus service to city. Leith Shore 5 mins away, good pubs/restaurants.
The location, car parking and nearby bus stop. The shore restaurants...
The scrambled eggs were wet and horrible, probably powdered eggs. Beans on toast was fine.
Leave car in car park and catch bus right outside hotel.
Relaxed & friendly. Great breakfast & kept all trays full for late risers. We stayed 2 nights but could have done with more. Easy bus ride to City & great shopping centre opposite
Stay was to short.
We paid £99 for a double room inc breakfast and to my mind that is very good value for money.
The room was for disabled persons and the toilet although functional was no better than that. The shower pressure was insufficient. The t.v. was also functional but even at maximum volume was no very loud.
One receptionist (pregnant lady who also booked us in) always made us feel welcome with a smile e.g. good morning, enjoy your day etc but unfortunately she was the only one - please promote her or give her some kind of award and ask her to train the other staff in customer care
Most of the staff seemed oblivious to us especially when my husband was waiting at the bar - we were going to have a nightcap. The chap came over 3 times and looked past my husband. He was more interested in a chap that was having a nap. You don't ignore all other customers for one that is not bothering anyone. Customer care training needed.
It was an ok place to stay for one night
Our room was next to the lift which was noisy and the customers who used the lift were inconsiderate and noisy
Good position, convenient transport links. Nearby restaurants and bars. Free wifi. Very easy parking. Pleasant rooms, well serviced.
Breakfast room was very busy as hotel was full. Not really a complaint - although breakfast was adequate would have liked slightly more variety in hot food and fresh fruit.
Tried to assist where they could
Noise from vent inside rooms, think from kitchen extractors or heating system, kicking on and off all the time
We enjoyed good value accommodation in a good location . Good restaurants nearby . Free parking. Excellent friendly helpful staff.
All good !
Location was good Bed comfy, tv, room etc fine Coffee at breakfast good Staff on reception were helpful
Not all that clean, breakfast selection not wonderful, not so much as a biscuit or any hot chocolate in the bedroom
Love this holiday inn....great for buses to centre of town and theatre and ocean terminal for shops
Didn't like bar area...hardly any bar seats and right in front of reception....boring TV on as well.....but will still return.
Breakie great, would be nice to have an alternate menu, good to be able to make a cuppa whenever you wish. The staff were fantastic to deal with, they treat everyone with courtesy, happy to answer your questions.
Close to Ocean Terminal shopping centre and also to excellent bus links to the city centre. Free parking on site.
No problems were encountered during our stay.
Used this hotel before on a few occasions and it is very well placed for public transport in to Edinburgh and all the amenities around Leith. We prefer staying here than in the main town. Parking by the hotel is great, checking in simple and efficient and breakfast is pitched just right. Great value for money and when we go to Edinburgh we always try this hotel first for our accommodation.
On this visit we wanted a double bedded room and on the website the only one available was one with disabled access but as it was only for one night we took it. The room although spacious looks very careworn Room 434 with shabby furniture very dull. Not up to the usual standards. Bathroom was fine but the room was not welcoming at all and I would hate to think that is the normal standard of this style of room. Not worth the money we paid but as I say only for one night. The room was also very cold when we first got in and took a fair while to warm up. It won't stop us booking there again as we know this is unusual.
Great location for the Royal Yacht Comfy bed Lovely well motivated, helpful and happy staff particularly on reception
Room slightly cool with automatic air con which could be switched off.
the breakfast was very good.
short of parking space
