The bed was very soft and comfortable, breakfast was very good and the room was very tastefully furnished, owners dog a golden retriever was very well behaved and lovely! Nice location, nice gardens.
It is too far to walk into the City really unless you like hiking! but local bus just up the road was brilliant and a fair price, runs late also so NO problems.
A warm welcome, a spacious clean room, comfortable beds, a good nights' sleep, nice en suite bathroom and a fabulous breakfast.
Comfortable bed. Clean room. Even though it was very cold outside, the whole house was a comfortable temperature with no draughts. Good breakfast. Very pleasant dining room. Convenient location for our visit.
Bedside water glasses were not clean (nitpicking really, as everything else was immaculate). Slight difficulty finding our way in on the first night in the dark.
I felt like a personal guest of the family rather than a stranger. A very relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.
Very Frienly Welcome Attention to detail such as Umbrellas and torches provided for going out. Beautifully decorated en suite rooms and communal areas. Excellent breakfast
Nothing to dislike.
Beautiful location, lovely comfortable room, friendly staff for which nothing was too much and a fantastic breakfast. What more do you want??!
In an excellent location, not far from the centre of Bath by car, bus or to walk, if you are energetic! Handy for the park and ride service too. The guest house is easy to find as it is so well sign posted. The hosts give very detailed information prior to arrival as well. This is a very well presented, comfortable and welcoming place to stay. We had a large room with a king sized bed, large screen TV and plenty of seating for relaxation. The ensuite bathroom had not one but two showers within the enclosure - (the first had a large overhead rose and the second was adjustable for those who preferred not to get their hair wet when showering!) There is a lovely view from the property across to Bath and the surrounding countryside. Fresh milk was available for drinks. There were even wine glasses and a corkscrew in the room! We were served with a delicious breakfast. This is in a good location for visiting many areas eg Wells, Bradford on Avon, the University, with Longleat, Lacock also within easy driving distance. The Cross Keys about 200 yards from the house served good, freshly prepared food at a reasonable price. Ian and Alison (and Rufus - their dog) were most welcoming and did everything to ensure that we had a great overnight stay at High Beeches. We will certainly return and recommend without reservation.
Loved it from the moment we stepped in how refreshing to be met by the owner who actually really does want you to have a great time visiting Bath , place has a nice feel its very clean and fresh the food I'd recommend I'm veggie not a problem , I'd recommend it thanks Ian we will be booking again ...
Nothing to dislike , we found everything was great ..... And you don't find many places like it .
Lovely big room (luxury room) very comfortable bed. Shower good and clean.
Room was great. Large and very comfortable.
Everyone eating at the same table at breakfast time. Being told to take off our shoes as soon as we walked in through the door.
The Cross Keys Pub just along the road where you could have lunch or dinner. The bus stop just opposite there to go to Bath. The room was clean and the bed firm and comfortable. The breakfast was good.
The room was cold and the breakfast room was even colder in the morning. One of our group (there were 6 of us) ate her breakfast with her coat on. The closure from 1.00pm to 5.00pm was unusual as on arrival after several hours driving the only place we could go for a rest was the local pub. We arrived at 12.30 and were given the keys to our rooms but as the rooms were not ready did not go into the house. We left our cases in our cars and went to the Cross Keys for a snack and drink. This could be a problem for some people who travel a long way.
Comfy bed, good location. Helpful owners.
Horrible smell coming from bathroom sandfly toilet, very unpleasant. Dated room and too expensive for what it was.
Ian and Alison were extremely friendly. Our room was clean and the bed was soooo comfortable! The breakfast was delicious and we enjoyed chatting to the other guests around the large table whilst we ate it. The B&B is in a good location for Bath and is close to Odd Down Park & Ride which is perfect for those that don't wish to want to try to find parking in the centre of Bath. The Cross Keys pub is 150 yards away and this sells meals that are delicious, reasonably priced and good sized portions.
Friendliness of staff. Warm welcome. Lovely scenery / location. Good variety of food. Good local knowledge of places to visit. Spacious room
Our room was comfortable and well appointed. Our hosts were very nice, went out of their way to be helpful, and gave excellent directions. Breakfast was very good. Parking was provided. The nearby Cross Keys pub offered tasty food.
Only one of us could use wifi at a time. Going into town required taking a bus (rather than just walking), but that wasn't difficult.
Cleanliness and freshness of the room
Having to take shoes off at the door.
Lovely B&B location is good just outside the town with good bus connections. Staff very helpful, and rooms very clean
Quality property and room. Beautifully decorated.
Very hard bed, no option for blanket rather than duvet. Admittedly we didn't ask- shouldn't need to.
The owners, Ian and Alison, were away during our stay, but gave us comprehensive details to ensure our late arrival on a Friday night was hassle-free. Sharon was in charge during their absence and provided excellent service and fine breakfasts. The communal breakfast table is a nice touch
Loo flushing system was a little noisy. No sausages allowed for breakfast, but we coped.
Clean staff good breakfast good
Having to take shoes off before you could go in. Especially with sore back as caused quite a lot of pain. Parking when we first got there bit tight
Room was very nice, bed comfortable. Breakfast was traditional English cooked to order.
Location, difficult time finding the B&B. Recommend using a sat/nav when traveling to Bath it was very difficult to get around by personal car.
The staff were lovely. The owners of the BB went away on holiday when we were there, the lady that ran it in their absence was wonderful, so helpful and friendly.
The flask of milk on the landing, it would have been nicer to have the flask in the rooms for hot drinks. But it wasn't a real problem. I can't fault High Beeches
Lovely view from bedroom window , nice breakfast . Lovely old property , rooms individually decorated and furnished .
Quite a distance to get into Bath from the B&B , we felt you would certainly need to use the bus rather than walk , especially as it was uphill all the way back . The toilet system in the on suite was very noisy ! Arrival during daylight hours recommended as otherwise property may be more difficult to find for first time in the dark ! Also approach to the property by car is along a narrow lane which is unlit at night .
This is a great place to stay. Easy public transportation Scenic area Room, clean and comfortable rooms Helpful and friendly staff Interesting pub and village nearby
This is a lovely B&B in a very nice location, just far enough out of the city. The rooms are spotlessly clean and very tastefully decorated with nice country views. We had a very warm welcome from the hosts who were very helpful. The breakfast was very good with plenty of choice. We ate at the pub just down the road, where we met some very friendly locals. Would definitely recommend.
