Loved it from the moment we stepped in how refreshing to be met by the owner who actually really does want you to have a great time visiting Bath , place has a nice feel its very clean and fresh the food I'd recommend I'm veggie not a problem , I'd recommend it thanks Ian we will be booking again ...
Nothing to dislike , we found everything was great ..... And you don't find many places like it .
Lovely big room (luxury room) very comfortable bed. Shower good and clean.
Room was great. Large and very comfortable.
Everyone eating at the same table at breakfast time. Being told to take off our shoes as soon as we walked in through the door.
The Cross Keys Pub just along the road where you could have lunch or dinner. The bus stop just opposite there to go to Bath. The room was clean and the bed firm and comfortable. The breakfast was good.
The room was cold and the breakfast room was even colder in the morning. One of our group (there were 6 of us) ate her breakfast with her coat on. The closure from 1.00pm to 5.00pm was unusual as on arrival after several hours driving the only place we could go for a rest was the local pub. We arrived at 12.30 and were given the keys to our rooms but as the rooms were not ready did not go into the house. We left our cases in our cars and went to the Cross Keys for a snack and drink. This could be a problem for some people who travel a long way.
Comfy bed, good location. Helpful owners.
Horrible smell coming from bathroom sandfly toilet, very unpleasant. Dated room and too expensive for what it was.
Ian and Alison were extremely friendly. Our room was clean and the bed was soooo comfortable! The breakfast was delicious and we enjoyed chatting to the other guests around the large table whilst we ate it. The B&B is in a good location for Bath and is close to Odd Down Park & Ride which is perfect for those that don't wish to want to try to find parking in the centre of Bath. The Cross Keys pub is 150 yards away and this sells meals that are delicious, reasonably priced and good sized portions.
Friendliness of staff. Warm welcome. Lovely scenery / location. Good variety of food. Good local knowledge of places to visit. Spacious room
Our room was comfortable and well appointed. Our hosts were very nice, went out of their way to be helpful, and gave excellent directions. Breakfast was very good. Parking was provided. The nearby Cross Keys pub offered tasty food.
Only one of us could use wifi at a time. Going into town required taking a bus (rather than just walking), but that wasn't difficult.
Cleanliness and freshness of the room
Having to take shoes off at the door.
Lovely B&B location is good just outside the town with good bus connections. Staff very helpful, and rooms very clean
Quality property and room. Beautifully decorated.
Very hard bed, no option for blanket rather than duvet. Admittedly we didn't ask- shouldn't need to.
The owners, Ian and Alison, were away during our stay, but gave us comprehensive details to ensure our late arrival on a Friday night was hassle-free. Sharon was in charge during their absence and provided excellent service and fine breakfasts. The communal breakfast table is a nice touch
Loo flushing system was a little noisy. No sausages allowed for breakfast, but we coped.
Clean staff good breakfast good
Having to take shoes off before you could go in. Especially with sore back as caused quite a lot of pain. Parking when we first got there bit tight
Room was very nice, bed comfortable. Breakfast was traditional English cooked to order.
Location, difficult time finding the B&B. Recommend using a sat/nav when traveling to Bath it was very difficult to get around by personal car.
The staff were lovely. The owners of the BB went away on holiday when we were there, the lady that ran it in their absence was wonderful, so helpful and friendly.
The flask of milk on the landing, it would have been nicer to have the flask in the rooms for hot drinks. But it wasn't a real problem. I can't fault High Beeches
Lovely view from bedroom window , nice breakfast . Lovely old property , rooms individually decorated and furnished .
Quite a distance to get into Bath from the B&B , we felt you would certainly need to use the bus rather than walk , especially as it was uphill all the way back . The toilet system in the on suite was very noisy ! Arrival during daylight hours recommended as otherwise property may be more difficult to find for first time in the dark ! Also approach to the property by car is along a narrow lane which is unlit at night .
This is a great place to stay. Easy public transportation Scenic area Room, clean and comfortable rooms Helpful and friendly staff Interesting pub and village nearby
This is a lovely B&B in a very nice location, just far enough out of the city. The rooms are spotlessly clean and very tastefully decorated with nice country views. We had a very warm welcome from the hosts who were very helpful. The breakfast was very good with plenty of choice. We ate at the pub just down the road, where we met some very friendly locals. Would definitely recommend.
Everything was very nice!
Great people. Great location. Good travel routes. Cosy and clean room. Yummy breakfast.
Price a bit expensive. Need more sign posting. Sounded like a fan spinning when flushing toilet.
Location, owners, breakfast, landscaping
Grinder on toilet made a terrible racket
Lovely house, room and very welcoming. Liked the breakfast set up, all sitting round one table
Beautiful house with lovely furnishing. Nice little village nearby & easy access to city centre by bus.
Noisy water pump which we were not warned about so caused some concern.
Leave the car and take the bus which stops close by into Bath. Lovely views over Midford valley.
High beeches location was good as on a bus route. The room had a comfortable bed and nice linen. A good breakfast was provided. .
We you ran water or flushed the toilet a loud noise of a pump started. This noise was a problem at night. Having to take my shoes off, and walk around the property barefoot was not ideal. I felt like a naughty child who was invading someone else home. I also found having to come to breakfast at a set time and sit around a large table with others, was more for the convience of the owners rather then the paying guests.
