Directly opposite Worthing Train Station, this traditional hotel from the late 19th century has a restaurant, bar and comfy rooms. Worthing seafront is 15 minutes' walk away via the town centre.

With its sumptuous Renaissance style, The Grand Brighton has a magnificent location on Brighton’s seafront and is just a 10-minute walk from Brighton Pier.

Superbly situated for Worthing town centre, 19th-century Chatsworth Hotel is a family-run, Grade II Listed building with Georgian frontage overlooking Steyne Gardens.
Score from 394 reviews Good
slightly remote location but that added to ambience of the place. Relaxed friendly staff. Excellent breakfast, happy with buffet style.
Clean, large double room with good sized en-suite. Breakfast included in the price; online booking. Staff friendly and attentive. Good value for money.
Bed very uncomfortable, probably old, thin mattress. Full English Breakfast was not as appetising as it looked. However, the lunch carvery looked tasty, although we didn't have time to try for ourselves; appeared good value at £6.39 and £9,39 on Sunday's.
We had an upgrade to our room Cleanliness , friendliness & efficiency . It's a shame we weren't able to have a meal the Carvery looked delicious
Everything. The hotel is a venue for weddings so needs to be of a good standard especially as it is out of the way. The chef was willing to sauté some onions for Beef Burger meal, which I find un obtainable in most restaurants these days.
The only downside is that the entrance to the hotel is now on a dual carriageway which is a hassle either going to or from the hotel. This is not the hotels fault as the council changed the road to duel carriage way and did not allow a way to turn right. With this and being a good way out of Worthing it stopped us going back into Worthing for an evening meal. However the meal at the hotel was exceptional.
Breakfast starting at 0730 hrs is far too late.. Pointless having breakfast included in the price if unable to use it.
food was excellent, room first class, and staff so friendly. Looking forward to our next stay there
Setting, surroundings and stay were very agreeable and satisfying. Rooms clean, reasonable sizes and bathrooms satisfactory. General appearance 'inside' the hotel was pleasantly furnished - furniture and pictures and displayed with interesting items. Restaurant and bar good and food excellent - especially the "Full English" breakfasts. Good parking lots. Good place - worth giving a try!
Background smell of "sewage" [?] tended to linger in the atmosphere. We visited in February and it was 'cold'. Visit in summer and hot weather may increase the background smell. Don't let this 'reject' your visit. Well worth giving the hotel a PLUS.
Walls very thin could hear couple talking late at night and woke us up early morning
Some nice touches with the furnishings - cushions and throw on the bed. Good breakfast.
Some real clashes with the furnishings in the bedroom - curtains and chairs. Lack of attention to detail - non-matching cups and saucer - hints at a lack of care.
Price & location
Restaurant closed at 9pm on a Saturday. Room overcrowded. Rooms in annexe. Poorly attended breakfast room. Too many noisy children. Walls paper thin.
I liked the meals could not fault them and the area was good
The room no 3 was disappointing bed was hard the fire exit door you could hear people going in and out compared to the family rooms my sons had for the same money no15 and 16 it was poor
extremely loud music in the next room at 4am and no one was available to speak to
In a beautifull setting , rooms luxurious and very comfortable , restaurant and food excellent and very warm and friendly . Would not hesitate to go back again
Clean and tidy place ,staff good and position very nice. Food good both evening and breakfast.
Some things starting to look a little tired.
nothing not to like lovely locacation nice people highly recommend
confusing post code, evening meal finishes to early, but might of been time of year
Great staff , carvery and location . Very comfortable and clean room . Lovely location . We will revisit in the summer months to try out a cream tea and walk out dogs on the Downs . The hotel is situated on the South Downs !
Perhaps the carvery could have been served till 9-930 .
Friendliness of staff, cleanliness of room, the food, welcoming atmosphere.
Interesting location of historical interest, easy parking, friendly staff, good breakfast. I think in spring and summer Highdown Gardens will be glorious, and with a tea-room on the premises would be well worth a visit. The historic artefacts in the restaurant were fasciating.
Crossing from the bedroom annexe to the restaurant for breakfast in frosty weather.
Very convenient for Northbrook College where we had an early appointment. Room very comfortable with plenty of tea, coffee, etc. Breakfast was good and a very ambient setting.
no food after 6pm on sunday. last breakfast 9am during the week.
The staff was verry good and made us fill welcome will stay again thank you
The bath panel had a split in it
I frequently stay at this hotel. I like the friendly and welcoming staff, the comfort of the rooms and beds, and the food is excellent value for money. The overall price is extremely reasonable (especially compared to other hotels in Worthing in which I have stayed). This is now my hotel of choice in this area.
Wifi is available but is not that reliable.
Room was good Staff helpful & polite
Breakfast did not have any fruit or marmite
Staff were friendly, efficient and helpful. Room 11 was huge - it is a suite - with massive comfy bed, lots of room and good hot shower. Great breakfast too. Would highly recommend this place if you need somewhere in the area for a night or two. Excellent value for money
