Restaurant had a carvery.
Rubber slip mat for bath was very mouldy and was the first thing you saw on entering the bathroom. Then noticed general uncleanliness in bathroom. Terrible musty smell in foyer and hall ways.
I liked the restaurant. The surroundings. The bed was very comfortable.
The size of the room. I felt like I was in a cupboard. It was very stuffy, even though I opened the skylark. Not having any windows to look out of. When booking I was not aware of all this. Having nowhere else to sit comfortably but on the bed.
the facilities were good, clean and comfortable. Venue was easy to find and central to our location.
The decoration was a little dates, but still clean. Unfortunately the carvery and breakfast were a not as good as expected. Food was edible but not very appetising. I think a few tweeks here and there could make this a very good hotel.
Location for Goodwood
Unable to provide Packed breakfast and not advised beforehand. Unable to accommodate opening restaurants earlier than 7.30 weekdays or 8.30 weekends, and later than 8.30pm evenings, despite having an large quantity of guests who required this. Not at all helpful. Very thin walls of rooms. Antique hairdryers. Nasty drain smell in corridors and some rooms.
Location Staff friendly and efficient Breakfast ready for guests at 7.30 Bedroom and bathroom clean and tidy.
General feel of hotel is 'tired' and in need of lots of repairs, updates and tlc particularly the dining areas. Towels in bedroom very thin No tissues in bedroom. Musty smell in wardrobe.
Location is excellent..
We found the cleanliness very poor everywhere, strange dank smells in corridors, dirty carpets, soiled chair covers, cobwebs and top of the list a 'huge' pizza box including crusts found under one of the single beds!! Therefore I would like to suggest that all the cleaning staff should be given an eye test before being employed!!
no phone in room no one ouer night if he place way on fire you would be in trouble as no one they or phone the food was bad and no food apart from 4 bits of meat and pay 6 95 after pay that all they had was meat what was ouer cooked
sorry put it in the wrong bit so this is the good things the bed was cool and apart from he bad stuff i wolud giue 7 out of 10
staff were friendly and helpful. meals were excellent. good parking and lovely surroundings.just looked a little tired.
TV remote missing Shower broken Windows locked and room stuffy. Dirty toilet brush on display in bathroom.
This was a clean, characterful, well appointed hotel. Quiet and in a great location with helpful staff, good breakfasts and very pretty surroundings. I stayed in Room 10 and it was gorgeous - quiet, well furnished and very clean. Would definitely stay again. People tend to complain but not compliment in my experience!
The bathroom décor was a little 1990s but very clean and had everything I needed.
Good value for money
Property desperately needs money spent to bring it to a decent standard. Smell of damp in corridor leafing to downstairs bedrooms was off putting.
Poor decoration in need of refurbishment, to much in room
Beds very comfortable ,location peaceful
Reception staff not very helpful .Closed at 9.20 p m when it was stated closed at 10 pm .no milk left in room and unable to get some till morning
The hotel was ideally situated for our requirements for an overnight stay. The room was immaculate, with a very comfortable four-poster bed, hostess tray which included biscuits, and free wifi. The bathroom was well appointed with nice toiletries. The carvery restaurant was good, with a very pleasant chef serving the food, which was very reasonably priced. The breakfast was adequate. We would not hesitate to use this hotel again if in the area, or recommend it to our friends.
The light switch for the bathroom was in the hallway- not very convenient if one had to use the bathroom in the night! Also, it would have been nice to have a choice of fruit at breakfast (ie grapefruit segments, fresh fruit salad etc) and yoghurts. The bread for toast could have been the thick sliced variety, as the medium/thin sliced went very hard quickly. As Reception was in the Restaurant in a separate building, it would have been nice to be personally shown to our room which was in another building.
Liked the location. Beds quite comfortable, bed linen clean and fresh. Staff helpful.
Rooms shabby, furniture very dirty, wardrobe shook when walking past it, entrance to hotel and restaurant littered and had a dirty appearance.
quiet, clean and comfortable, nice staff, excellent breakfast, nice setting, free internet. Very reasonable dinner menu and price. (the most reasonable dinner prices and hotel prices of anywhere we have stayed in southern England
the ceiling alarm went off in the middle of the night. internet access didn't work in our room so we had to sit in the hall to use the internet
Good location lovely breakfast had to ask for an ironing board as we were attending a wedding this was delivered while we were out.
I am disabled and as we had booked late couldn't request any ground floor room but as luck would have it only had to climb 3steps but there was no hand rail which made things a little difficult!!
Friendly staff and a great breakfast
Lovely peaceful location. Comfortable bed. Carvery was really good value, the free breakfast I thought was just going to be cereal was a full English breakfast.
Water wasn't that hot when I had a bath.
Service/location and the staff where all nice
Could not open window it was very hot when we stayed at Highdown can understand why as it is on ground floor which did suit us.
Breakfast was good.
Smell of sweage. Damp on walls. Water stopped mid-shower.
everything was nicely relaxed and staff were helpful
signage off the main road as the trees were blocking the sign till the last moment.
The food and atmosphere were excellent. Also the lovely gardens
We stayed in number 11 But we experienced a smell which was coming from outside drains
Very helpful staff my 17 year old son with autism was made very welcome which was great .lovely clean room. There was a double bed and sofa bed for our son.
Nothing very happy
Beautiful building in lovely setting. Great accommodation - room & bathroom were spacious and VERY comfy large bed. Huge TV. Peaceful & relaxing - no noise heard from outside or other rooms, unlike some hotels! Staff were OUTSTANDING! Should be awarded 4 stars. Would definitely go back and have already recommended it to others!
