Hotel was clean, food was great staff were very professional
We stayed for a wedding and the staff really helpful and organised!! We had a great time x
Friendly staff and nice food
Parents unable or unwilling to control their children (not the hotels fault)
View from our window Quiet room in Parker's Lodge Spacious room Helpful friendly staff Lots of car parking Rural location
Issues we had with the room when we arrived
Staff were fantastic as was the location, interesting building too and the food was spot on.
The fact it was only a one night stopover. Found a gem for future stays though.
This was one of the nicest hotels we have stayed in. My partner has an assistance dog. Our lovely room was in a lodge away from the main hotel. There was a bowl provided for our dog, and a couple of dog treats left in the room each day (much appreciated :-)) which was a very nice touch. The staff were very friendly and helpful. A couple of cask beers in Fitzys Bar, and good food. A very enjoyable stay.
The television mounted on a wall in our room was a tad too small for the viewing distance
It is a lovely hotel, the room was clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly and appeared approachable at all times. I would stay there again and recommend people to stay here.
The only downfall was that even with the heating off and the window open to it's widest point it was still far too warm in the room.
Excellent staff Great breakfast Nice room with view
No hot water for washing in the morning Severe water leak in the dining room as we had breakfast
the steak and pepper sauce were great
The Calamari start had too many red onions.
Incredibly comfy bed Service: there was a problem with my original room but the staff couldn't have been more helpful in sorting it out Beautiful location: wish I could have stayed longer to enjoy it
The staff was very helpfull and very friendly. The food was very good value and very tasty.
The bed was'nt very comfortable. We ddidn't sleep very well. Also need to have a smoking area. Not on front steps.
Spacious ,comfortable, would definitely recommend to anyone .
There wasn't anything to dislike
I like everything about the higher trapp.
The room was large and well appointed with a lovely bathroom, and ideally situated in the Lodge away from the main building. We enjoyed breakfast and a light meal we had on Saturday evening. All the staff were very helpful.
We had booked a family room as there were no twins available and we prefer separate beds, but were given a double room. The bed was not large and although the room was cool, as we like it, the duvet was too hot. Consequently, I did not have a good nights sleep. The option of having just a top sheet was not available. We were given a discount on the room rate but I would have prefered a good nights sleep. As the hotel was full that night, the receptionist could not offer us an alternative room and the offer of a camp bed was not tempting.
The hospitality was warm and welcoming , and the room was lovely too
There is just one point which could be addressed, cooked breakfast wasn't hot at all , maybe if the plates were warmed it could have made it better , but that is the only drawback of ourlovely stay , thank you
The staff who were very friendly and helpful. The restaurant with a good choice of evening meal at reasonable prices.
As we were in the annex it was quite a way to the main building and its facilities.
lovely setting, comfortable, clean room and friendly, helpful staff.
Peace and quiet own doors to own room not too big a room, small and quaint ! Will be back !!
The staff were friendly, the room was good especially for the money. The breakfast was really good. It's a beautiful place and I can recommend it to anyone. We really enjoyed our stay. With it being a wedding I awoke the next day feeling a little bit.. worse for wear. The staff had no issue letting me stay in the room an hour after checkout time.
staff, cleanliness, location, food
shower was rubbish, tv too small and in wrong place in the room
Value for money in a great location. Good breakfast
the drive from London :(
Combination of location and very friendly service. We didn't know this part of the country very well, but we are now eager to return. They've done Central Lancashire proud.
