Room was clean and fresh We chose this hotel because it was advertised as a room in a country hotel but it turned out to be a motel style room in the grounds. We arrived just before 10.00 pm took all our bags from into the hotel and were given keys to a chalet in grounds. So all bags back to car and drive to chalet down hill. No hot water or heating in room so called reception who said it was on a timer and they would look into it. By 11.30 we still had no hot water so no shower and a cold room. The door to our room was 5 feet from the double spring loaded entry doors which crashed open at 4.00 in the morning with guests arriving back late. They had the room above us and we were treated to an episode of The Jeremy Kyle Show for two hours due to the lack of sound proofing which allowed us to hear every word of their conversation about their relationship.

Amazing period property with stunning traditional edwardian features. Clean and spacious rooms for a fantastic price. Will be booking for our next visit for sure! The breakfast wasn't as good. Scrambled eggs tasted strange and were over done. Portion size was limited to one of each item (one bacon, one egg, etc). The service however made up for this and despite the breakfast, we'll definately be booking again (however on a bed only basis next time :)

The staff were all really attentive and helpful and offered a very good service. As we left we said that we had not been impressed with our room. The check out reception clerk was politely concerned, listened to our complaint, took note and then gave us a reasonable discount. This building has not been sympathetically changed from a country house to a hotel and I do not think the description or photographs really conveyed the reality of this. We considered our room substandard.

Stayed here for one night while attending a near by festival. Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Room was very comfortable and clean. Nice quiet location. Beautiful large garden at the rear, with great views. Imagine it would be a nice setting for a wedding or anniversary party.

Enjoyed a three night stay at this hotel. Room and en-suite good size and comfortable. No complaints about the staff, reasonably attentive at breakfast, excellent at dinner on the Saturday night, even though wedding party in the hotel at the same time. Tasty food with a varied menu. Loved the location, and the grounds were very impressive, with both formal lawns and woodland. I always travel with dog, and it would have been a bonus if well behaved dogs allowed in one public room i.e. TV.Lounge Looked out onto some nice trees, but also ? Air conditioning unit and outbuildings. (Room 2.) Humming noise at night! Being awoken by noisy staff at 7am on one morning, outside on a fag break! Would definitely return to stay in different room. Good overall experience.

locatie prima. Ontbijt en avond eten ook prima.Personeel vriendelijk. Bed erg hard.

Pleasant clean room and friendly staff The main course of our meal in the brasserie was almost inedible. It tasted like a prepacked meal heated up in the oven and very disappointing. You shouldn't have roast beef on the menu if you don't actually cook it.
