Staff were friendly and lovely grounds for taking photos. Good food. Would visit again if I am down that way.
The mirror in the room was covered in dirty marks. There were no toiletries in the bathroom. Had to ask more than once to get some. Room very small, bed very small and right next to radiator which wouldn't turn completely off. Had a meal and the salmon was undercooked
The breakfast staff were extremely accommodating
The reception staff gave a room key to somebody that wasn't staying in the room which allowed them to enter our room whilst we slept and removed the covers which was extremely embarrassing
As guests at a wedding we spent two nights at the hotel. From the time we arrived till the time we left the Staff were fantastic, warm, friendly, smiling, nothing was to much trouble, we felt as special as the Bride and Groom, the whole stay was fantastic and if your thinking of having your wedding there, I would say "Do it" you will not be sorry. They will treat you like royalty.
There was nothing we did not like ...........
Service from staff was excellant
8 out of 10 for food.
The room was very spacious and the view from the window very pleasant.
great location and views if you like off the beaten track
bit tired looking, grubby in places, breakfast; they were packing up before I got to the restaurant 30 mins before closing time it's a weekend wedding hotel using its midweek room capacity
The staff were fanstastic so helpful the family room we booked was massive more than enough room for my 2 girls
Nothing I didn't like
i thought the staff were amazing and nothing was too much for them to deal with, i also liked the decor
the wifi didnt connect at the lodge and i was not so keen on the breakfast (full english) the continental was good
The staff was friendly. We were asked to wait about 3 minutes while the receptionist sorted another guest out, she then upgraded our room because we had to wait.
One of the bar staff hadn't told another one that a real ale tasted off. My husband had a pint of it then was told sorry!
Staff were good and helpful. Room and bathrooms very clean. The view from the dining room was excellent. Easily located form the A59.
Room and bathroom small and cramped. As others have stated the sound proofing was poor.
Room 10 was a nice size and I enjoyed staying in it. However my friend was in room 2 which was very small and very basic looking. The food was nice and the staff were friendly. I would stay here again.
The rooms were cold, so could of done with the heating on beforehand and I didnt like the massive chunky chips - however hardly anything to moan about!
The staff were friendly , lovely old building but also dated,
Tiny bed !! Resulting in a terrible nights sleep :( Thin walls , we could here a conversation from both sides of a phone call from adjoining room , plugs switching on , loo flushing , Good choice for cold breakfast but hot had insipid sausages solid poached eggs and solid scrambled with dry black pudding , disappointing .
Clean, fluffy towels in bathroom, which were changed every day, the bathroom was clean. Breakfast was very good, also dinner. Reception and restaurant staff very friendly and efficient.
Bedroom - carpet was dirty, mildew on curtains, the room was cold, the radiator did not heat, the first night we were there it was very cold, the temperature was -1, resulting in ground frost. When I complained about the radiator the following morning I was given a free-standing electric heater, not happy about that for health and safety reasons. However, the room was warm for the next 2 nights with the electric heater on. I was glad i wasn't staying any longer.
the staff were very friendly and helpful, we was given an up grade for helping the reception staff with a contact no for our party organiser. The room was spotless and had a lovely view over the garden.
we stayed over on our works xmas party night, we was very disappointed in the quality of the food on the party night it tasted like it had come from a packet.....surely these days you should be offered freshly cooked food even the mince pies were foiled supermarket brand but the breakfast the following morning was excellent freshly cooked and well presented, the down side being offered last nights mince pies on the fresh bread table. On the evening of out party we had no hot water to shower,we was given a £20 reduction to compensate when I mentioned this.
Loved everything about this hotel. Especially the very helpful and friendly staff. Great stay and have booked to go again!
Couldn't fault it
Everyting. Staff friendly and nice relaxed atmosphere.
On arrival the receptionist told us there was a wedding on and we had been sited in a room away from the main hotel to keep us away from the noise. Staff literally couldn't do any more for you, nothing was too much trouble. Food was top notch and competitively priced considering there is nothing really close to the hotel.
Staff were very helpful, booked our taxi etc. Main part of hotel is gradually being updated.
I didn't like staying in the lodge, which is quite a walk through the car park and has a steep slope to access it. Not the best for older people.
Hotel was clean, food was great staff were very professional
We stayed for a wedding and the staff really helpful and organised!! We had a great time x
Friendly staff and nice food
Parents unable or unwilling to control their children (not the hotels fault)
View from our window Quiet room in Parker's Lodge Spacious room Helpful friendly staff Lots of car parking Rural location
Issues we had with the room when we arrived
