Very clean and comfortable.
Lovely B&B, friendly welcome, asked for early check in and room was ready when we arrived. Fantastic breakfast, everything you would want, fruit juice, cereal, toast with home made jams and a great full English! Room very clean and comfortable good welcome tray, tea/coffee and biscuits. Short walk to skipton center. Landlady very friendly and will recommend good places to eat and give good advice, would definitely use the Highfield guest house again.
Friendly, helpful landlady. 5 minute walk to town centre. Clean, comfortable, cosy room. Good choice of breakfast inc super home made jam.
Some rain on Saturday morning!!
Everything. No flaws at all. Everything was spot on
made to feel very welcome, good atmosphere
Staff; Food, Room; Location
Shower temperature was poorly regulated and it was easy to get scalded.
The staff were all lovely, very courteous and welcoming. Breakfast was super, nothing too much trouble.
Room very noisy, so couldn't sleep with windows open. Short supplies of toilet roll not topped up on second day. Not the sort of thing you want to ask for. Generally a bit neglected, cobwebs in corners etc..
Vegetarian breakfast, homemade jam and lovely host
Very helpful owner who sorted out our parking and allowed us to check out later because of illness. Room 2 was large and comfortable. Although facing the main road into Skipton the road noise did not affect our sleep. The bed does have 100% cotton sheets which were a treat. Room was clean and good supply of milk, tea and coffee. Breakfast was good and cooked to order and guests were able to make changes to the listed choices. Small lounge area available to guests was also appreciated.A Very good host who could not have been more helpful and always had a smile on her face.
The bathroom/shower is in need of an update the chrome corner unit has seen much better days and should be replaced. Only one large bath towel the other was small.
We were very late arriving but they were there to great us.Excellent food. Best couple of night's sleep I have had in ages. Really comfortable and cosy room. Will definitely stay again next time we are in Skipton.
A very enjoyable overnight stay whilst visiting Skipton. The owner could't do enough to help and was very appologetic that my request for a ground floor room wasn't available due to our last minute booking. Exellent value for money and a very good breakfast to start the day. would reccomend Highfield Guest House.
My husband & I enjoyed the market on the Saturday, church bells ringing on the Sunday for me it had brought back many memories. Wished we could of stayed longer
Very friendly and helpfull nothing was any trouble excellent breakfast would deffinatly go again.
Location was ideal for town centre and for canal as my husband was on a course on a narrow boat.Breakfast was very good.
Bed was meant to be a double but didn't seem to be, I didn't sleep very well.
Everything was fabulous. We stayed in foom 4, very comfy bed, well laid out with loads of room and the little touches were amazing; luxury biccies, a little china holder for your tbags, scrummy hot chocolate and wine glasses and even though we were at the front traffic noise was no problem and didn't disturb our sleep. Amazing huge bathroom with plenty of storage space, hot water and luxury toiletries. Breakfast was delicous with a great selection of fresh fruit, yoghurt, cereal, cooked food and homemade jams. It's in a perfect location, only a short walk to the town centre and very easy to find. But the best thing about staying there and what made our weekend is the owner, she is so friendly, chatty and happy to help; a really lovely lady.
Nothing, everything was perfect.
The hostess Debbie, such a friendly, lovely person. Nothing was too much trouble for her. The rooms were lovely and big , spotlessly clean and the bed was really comfy. It was old fashioned decorated, which I loved and breakfast was served in a quaintly , old fashioned dining room. Everyone was friendly and breakfast was ample and a good start to our day. I will definitely be going back to this hotel again !
Nothing at all !
made very welcome, near to town, would stay here again.
littlte bit nosey from road noise.
Clean comfortable room, fresh cooked breakfast.
- good location only 10 minute walk from town centre - cleanliness of room very good - staff friendly and welcoming - great tv and free wifi access in the guesthouse/room - tea & coffee in the room replaced regularly
- we were in a small, hot room right at the top of the house (small wardrobe, lack of storage space for luggage etc) - we didn't realise that the guesthouse was right next to a busy junction - which meant a noisy night's sleep if the window was open (which it needed to be due to the warm temperature of the room!) - the pillows were very hard and uncomfortable (particularly set underneath) and alternative in wardrobe drawer was no better - the bedroom was cleaned very well each day but we had to ask for fresh toilet rolls every day - shower leaked from one corner of the bath which meant water ended up all over the bathroom floor
Very friendly hostess; excellent breakfast, clean room and bathroom; close to town centre
Hostess friendly and helpful. Bed very comfortable. Breakfast excellent. Dining room very pleasant. Although this guesthouse was full, there was no noise from other rooms or guests. Guesthouse very conveniently situated.
I found it very difficult to control the temperature of the water in the shower. Our bedroom and en suite were on the top floor, and the flow of water in the shower could change suddenly, without warning, from cold to very hot or vice versa.
The landlady was lovely with typical Yorkshire hospitality
Breakfast needs a makeover
WiFi access, though we had to go downstairs to get online. Excellent breakfast, very friendly and helpful hostess Parking, though you have to get in early to get one of the two Places. Close to town centre to walk. Adjacent to Tesco
Absolutely nothing on the negative side
The friendliness. the facilities, and the little touches - china mugs, biscuits, wine glasses and much more in our room.
Debbie was a great host, very welcoming. It is in a great location and we aim to visit again next year.
