I like the location of the hotel.
Not good value for a single traveller. Room very small and expensive. Damp smell from the bathroom Can we have some 'real' bread & rolls at breakfast, not sliced bread?
friendly staff; excellent breakfast, clean
window on the front of the building; very noisy on the street
Location, Attentive staff.
very nice and helpful staff, very good for 1 night stay before a cruise
a one night stay comfortable.
Staff were lovely, room was big, great selection for breakfast, good location
Needs some redecorating in areas, price is a bit high considering there are no extra facilities e.g. bar (there is a bar next door but it's more of a trendy hip bar with loud music rather than a comfortable relaxing bar)
Staff very welcoming and helpful on arrival. Have always found rooms to be on the small side but adequate. This time we had a much bigger room and large bathroom. Have made a note of the room number for next time!
Pillows are on the hard side. A more comfortable pillow would have given an excellent score instead of good. To be fair though, it took me a long time to find the right pillow to suit me at home.
Great service, comfort and price, as usual.
Radiators too hot!!! Down to their lowest setting (frost protection), but still red hot. Please fix for my next visit!!!
I liked the fact the staffs were very friendly and accommodating of my requests. Also their breakfast is fantanstic, not powder eggs you find is some hotels.I have stayed in this hotel so many times now.
There was a bit of dust on the TV and the picture frames. In the car park at the front of the hotel, some people park their cars in undesignated areas behind the cars in the bays. This makes it difficult to move out of the car park.Other than that no complaints.
Clean room; very friendly and helpful staff; situated out of main town in friendly local area; awesome restaurant/bar in front of hotel; Sainsburys down the road; excellent free breakfast.
Air-conditioning! Room was warm and stuffy and only had a little fan; Lift - had to struggle up and down stairs with heavy case.
Whilst on the small side our room was tastefully decorated and very clean and comfortable. The bathroom was of good size, complete with toiletries and also very clean. The breakfast buffet choice was one of the best of any uk hotel we have stayed in. Will stay here again.
The breakfast and hotel staff were really warm and helpful
Room was quite small, kept bumping head on roof wall
All staff were helpful, especially the senior gentleman on reception.
Walking through the puddles of water by main door.
Friendly, helpful staff. Good breakfast selection. Perfect for our needs to be close to the University. Very good value for money.
Wish there was a lift to the upper floors!
Staff were smiler and helpfully
Very comfortable and spacious single room, good size well appointed bathroom with full size bath. Quaint old style hotel in quiet area.
The location of this hotel was well suited for me, ideal place to get to my gig, plus breakfast was good only wish I had checked my train times before I left on the Sunday, excellent hotel, highly recommended....
The staff were very friendly, always saying good morning or good evening when they saw you and very helpful regarding suggestions on what to eat and where to go. The room was a great size for the price and the bathroom was pristine and beautiful- very clean and the bathtub was lovely and very relaxing. I loved that there was a kettle with coffee and tea provided. It was also an ideal location close to so many destinations including the University of Southampton and the main street with many restaurants, sweet shops and a charming book shop I stumbled into.
My only complaint was the breakfast. I understand it is difficult to produce food in bulk and I appreciate it being offered for free with the room but the eggs were very rubbery and almost inedible. And the fruit was way over ripened.
Helpful staff, good breakfast. Warm and reasonably quiet
I had booked for two but in fact was alone: the bed was too small for two people, a 4 foot possibly! No Internet and free Internet was one of the attractions of staying here. The desk staff said it was always very intermittent but wasn't working that night.
There was ample car parking and the reception was very welcoming. The room was excellent, Ironing Station, safe, hair dryer in the draw, the room was warm the curtains of great quality the carpet very clean. The bathroom very homely. The breakfast was lovely. Overall a great value hotel.
None of the staff were English, the bed was not comfortable nor the pillows. My sat nav did not recognise the post code either.
I could not get Wi-Fi access on my second night, was told that each floor has a router there was not enough band width when a lot of guests may be connected.
Hotel room was a nice size, clean and had tea and coffee making facilities.
No lift so I had to carry a heavy case up to the first floor. Don't know what I would have done if I was on a higher floor. No air-conditioning so room was stuffy. Also the windows were unable to open fully as there was a catch to prevent this as there was a flat roof directly linked to our room. The porter did get a fan for me when I phoned to complain that the room was very hot.
Everything was excellent! I arrived from Luton airport, with my daughter, early in the morning at 5.00a.m. and the person there even I didn't have arrange the room for early check in, he offered us a room to rest until our room will be ready at 11.00a.m. The Hotel didn't charge us for that and we appreciated it a lot. MANY THANKS!!!
Clean, comfortable good location
Location as local shops/ bars were very close
Hot water was really slow
