As always everything.
The location was excellent. The breakfast was very good.
The room was too small for two people. The shower was difficult to control the temperature.

not a lot?
Welcome at Reception and Restaurant
Bit of a maze
The original house was beautiful! The room we stayed in was part of the later built buildings. All the rooms have been renovated to an extremely high standard, when inside looks like a boutique hotel! We stayed here to go to the Moto GP. Only 30 minutes away, perfect location! Staff were extremely friendly and helpful, food was delicious both dinner and breakfast! Everything reasonably priced! Bed was amazing! Cannot put it any better! A perfect stay, great value for money! Will definitely be going back!
A very minimal dislike was you could hear people coming and going through the lay out of the hotel. Not an issue though. It is a hotel at the end of the day!
The room was outdated and smelly the swimming pool area was dirty to.
Staff members were courteous, professional and helpful. Hotel setting was lovely as was the hotel generally. Very nice toiletries, towels and bedding. Food was absolutely fantastic. Motel type room where we could park right outside
TV in our room didn't really work though for us that didn't matter too much. Tea and coffee making facilities were in the wardrobe(!). Walls between rooms were a bit thin.
Stayed here for the moto gp at silverstone, the room was lovely and comfortable, the staff were friendly and the hotel itself was lovely, the grounds were stunning. Enjoyed my stay and would definitely stay again and would highly recommend.
Found the menu very expensive so ate out. Other than that nothing at all.
The location of the hotel was very good, easily accessible to Northampton. Nice quiet room which I requested. The service in the Terrace Restaurant was very good
There was no bar of soap in the bathroom or shelving in the bathroom tout things on. There was only one bedside lamp which made the room dark in the evening when the main light wasn't being used. We felt the area by the tennis court could benefit from a tidy up, and maybe some tubs of flowers around would brighten the area up in general. Use of the main house would have been nice.
Good facilities, good menu and good service
A bit confusing to find your way around due tot he number of buildings
The breakfast was brilliant, good car parking, quick reception book in and out.
Walls of rooms were not sound proof. Bathroom could do with an extractor fan.
What an absolutely fabulous Hotel. The Main Manor House is steeped in history although not all rooms are located in this building. The staff are very friendly, had great service and the food is reasonably priced and is excellent. Free parking. Swimming pool and Sauna. Just perfect!
Bed a little soft for my liking
Noisy main road
Had to move room initially as right over reception but moved to a lovely quiet room, slept fantastically well and had a scrumptious breakfast the following day! Loved it here was my second stay and have booked my next already.
Room 240 over reception.
Highgate House is a lovely old mansion with a baronial hall and odd modern bits that at first you think, that's odd but then it kind of works!! clearly it is a successful training/conference venue with team building areas, but for a weekend stay it's great, set in nice countryside, not far off the A14. Breakfast was great, the staff and chef very friendly. The swimming pool a very short walk away from the main house, it was small but warm and as we were the only ones in it was like having a private pool. The hotel is dog friendly (we weren't charged any extra) and there are some great walks around the grounds. For an overnight stay in Northamptonshire or a stop off the A14 - highly recommended.
Fantastic food. Excellent service.
The accommodation picture showed the actual Highgate House which looked like a stately home. When we checked in we were given an annex room which was a modern addition not forming part of the main building. This was disappointing. Plus you have to walk outside to use the facilities. It was raining...
The welcome at reception was fantastic and my room was lovely and spacious and spotlessly clean. Lovely surroundings which had been well thought out. Like the free drinks available in coffee areas and the breakfast was amazing!
Few minor niggles. Remote with no battery cover and woeful TV reception. The tap on the bath came off in my hand and the water pressure was not sufficient to power the shower to any great effect and consequently the bath took ages to fill.
Lovely staff Lovely room Comfy bed
The setting, relaxed ambience, friendly staff and good food.
Welcomed by a friendly happy person on reception, nice room, food good, pool a bonus
Food price on high side, more channels on TV, freeview would be a further bonus. No big issues at all
The swimming pool was good fun.
Functional and clean. Pleasant bar and restaurant. Food was good.
It's really a conference centre rather than a hotel. Room was disappointing compared to the pictures on the web site. Lot of noise outside our room till late and early sunday morning. Pool is a bit of a hike and totally separate from the sauna. Not ideal when it's pouring with rain.
My room was at the front of the building which meant it was very close to the main road - about 5 meters away, which meant that the road traffic noise was horrendous - especially as the nights were warm and the windows were open due to a lack of any air conditioning. My advice to the hotel is invest in triple glazing and / or air con.
Setting & gardens
The advertisement on the internet showed the beautiful old house, but when we arrived, our room was a rather basic box in a prefab looking annex. Dining room was unairconditioned, wine second rate and all in all a rather disappointing weekend.
